Author's note: "Sorry! It turns out there was a truckload of grammar errors in my last few chapters! Thanks to my Gma for pointing those out, I would have never noticed. Anyways, if you'd like to go back and read them properly, thank you!"
Eight years later, I'm currently in the forest finishing off the last monster-fighting me.

'As my cooking skill leveled so did my gluttony skill, it almost maxed now, and when it is I'll have skills only slightly weaker than their original. Despite that, leveling has been rough... even after eight years I'm still only level 15, I need to kill higher-level monsters to get at least decent exp, and recently the danger level rose in this part of the forest... So pushing myself could be dangerous.' I sigh slightly dejected, my skills have also gotten stronger now, my empower skill raises my attack plus 15 every 5 seconds for 30 seconds and when I evolve it again it'll get even stronger. Though, the mana cost is quite something 60 mana a use. My dark enhancer skill has leveled up to the point where I can now use it on my short sword, it adds +15 damage for 20 mp it means not having to go weaponless to blind my opponents. Despite what my skills seem the monsters lv 17 and above have stats of over 90-120 same for some people on the outside world, the only reason my stats are like this is that thanks to the quests and workouts my body gains attribute points in my endurance agility and strength, dexterity is a bit different it focuses more on athleticism meaning I would need to practice something like parkour and flexibility which I'm not really about. I got two new skills from the bears and the wolves in this part of the forest, they've been pretty useful at keeping me alive so far.
"I think that's enough time to go home," I said, as I headed back but right before I could a window popped up. 'classes unlocked! 15 skill points gained' "Oh, right classes! I totally had forgotten!" Classes are unlocked at level 15 in BSF. The reason was they wanted players to explore different playstyles before they made a decision, once you're at the required level you gain 15 skill points. You don't instantly have to choose a class, even if you don't you gain skill points through a level or quests. As such I swiped the screen away, deciding to choose my class at a later time. On my way home, however, I noticed a cart on the trail. "That's odd." I thought suspiciously. "Who comes to our village of all places?" I had a bad feeling as I snuck in from the usual spot, and proceeded to walk home.
When I arrived, men were coming into the place causing trouble. 'Ah, I see, generic bandits. What jerks it's not like there's much to take.' "grab all the goods you can find! They're too weak to do anything anyways!" A brown-haired man said, he had an unkempt face and a few silver teeth and some rings. Not to mention the guy is massive how he got into that cart is beyond me. "Take what you please! Just... Don't hurt us." I turned my head to see my father, my mother standing behind her. "don't tell us what to do, weak Abysmal. You all should just roll over and die dumb pigs!" He said with an angry tone. I decided to intervene "HEY!" I shouted this caught most people's attention. "Jane stand back!" My father warned and his face froze with terror for me as the brown-haired bandit approached. I took out my short sword ready to fight. "A little fighter huh? I'll be sure to put you in your place"
New quest!: Defend your home
Defend your home from the bandits by any means necessary
Rewards: title "Protector of the people" 50% exp boost, exp threshold halved, exp required to level will increase by 1.5 a level, 1500 exp, 50 gold, 5 skill points, Greatsword of the shadows.
This worried me a bit. In BFS the higher the rewards the more difficult the challenge was. 'Could he be strong?' I asked nervously. But then shook my head. 'Nah.. no way he's just a bandit right?'

'HOLY CRAP HE'S STRONG!' I gulped as the strength stat scared me quite a lot. 'Calm down Jane you're faster, it should be fine.' I reassured myself "Your nothing but a dimwit that thinks strength is everything. this is gonna be sooo easy" I said confidently "What was that?!" He raised his blade to strike, despite being a meathead he was lugging around a greatsword with one arm even a graze would do a lot. He slammed his blade into the ground and I swiftly dodged the attack breaking the floor to bits sending rocks into the air. And like a baseball bat, he hit multiple rock chunks at me at fast speeds. A big chunk of rock hit me in the head, stomach and one grazed my arm at a fast speed. -15, -10 - 5 hp "I see he doesn't fully rely on his sword but uses collateral damage to his advantage..." I said smirking a bit "I guess there are different kinds of smart folk, your just battle smart and dumb at everything else!" I tauntingly said to my opponent. I ran circles around him and after his second swing I sidestepped and used 'Dark enhancer to rush up close to slice my opponent slashing him multiple times but his muscles on his own made the cuts not so deep only doing 10 hp a hit for a total of 50 dmg to the burly bandit.
He grabbed me and threw me into a food stall. '-10 hp.' Before I got to recover he had thrown more rocks at me multiple times. '-120 hp' that's all I saw in my vision as I was constantly pelted with stones, cutting me multiple times, some deep cuts resulting in bleeding '10 deep cuts have gained you the [bleed] effect you will lose 10 health every 5 minutes until the bleeding stops. My health plummeted as a dust cloud formed as I realized I needed to go all out to kill this guy before I either bled out or he smacked me with rocks. I stacked empower 3 times making the multiplier +16 every 5 seconds for 90 seconds but at the cost of 180 mana points. And I then made a sharper blade with ‘dark enhancer’ -10 mana. However, this was a do-or-die play as this drained almost all my mana leaving me at 16. I jumped up in the air and slashed at him and he blocked it with his sword. Crack, that was the sound I heard coming from his sword I can break it and win!
I ran around him dodging all the shots I could, a few lightly cutting me. But I saw my stats increase +16...+16...+16 over the 80 seconds. I had planned the last multiplier to be my final attack. I then charged at him with all I had. "Got a death wish kid?! I'll entertain you in your last moments!!!" My parents and everyone else in the village looked away as we struck blades. It seemed like the bandit leader was winning but then everyone heard the snapping of a sword and his face contorted into fear as he realized whose blade it was. "Wait stop! How did you gain so much strength?! I’ll leave! Just don’t kill me!" He pleaded but it was in vain as I snapped his blade in two and cut his head clean off when everyone looked at the leader's head, fell onto the floor and both weapons snapped. Well, mines fell off after the abuse it was given from the fight. The whole village was in silence. I held up my sword and used the rest of the mana I could to extend the blade pointing at the posse of bandits. "leave now or I'll kill you too." This was actually a bluff if they didn't leave there was no way I could deal with them. However, seeing their boss killed scared them As they simply panicked and ran off. After leaving everything they had in exchange for their lives. Bloodied and looking up at the sky, I lost all strength in my body and fell in a heap losing consciousness.

The door to my room creaked open and It was my mother and father with bandages and a warm watered towel. instantly welling up seeing me and dropping everything to hug me in a tight embrace. "ouch! hey what happened mom, dad? That hurts you know..." I said softly not really having the energy to speak. Quickly they backed away not wanting to hurt me more as my mother held my hand. "We're so glad your ok you were out for a day." my mother said. 'A day? I guess it makes sense. Had I not had my hearing and empower I would have been killed easily.' I shiver at the thought. Honestly my second life barely even began and it almost ended just like that. "I'm ok now so don't worry," I said to try to calm them down.
"I know it isn't the time to ask but, what happened? How did you become so strong?" My father asked, sitting next to me. I reluctantly tell them everything about the past eight years. Of course, I left out the trap, status, and how I got my items. I just blamed my items on stealing them from sleeping goblins. "I knew we had a tough cookie of a daughter but I never expected you to be so bold and careless we didn't raise you like that!" Dad said while ruffling my hair half teasing half scolding. "I know dad, I'm sorry" I sigh as I look at them both. "I want to be an adventurer. I can't stay as I am and just sit in this village when there's a whole world to see! I'm sorry, but this is what I wanna do with my life. I hope you'll support me." I look down ready to be heavily scolded. But instead, I was given a pleasant surprise of a hug from both my parents.
"We understand Jane." My mother said understandingly. "I used to be just like you and wanted to explore but after we lost your grandfather that spark ended." She finished looking down. Remembering the day he never came back from scouting trip. "We'll always support you, honey. Go show the world Abysmalls are still in the race!" My dad said confidently in me. I hugged them again thanking them and two days later I was healed, packed up, and ready to go. "Remember! Write us now and again at least once every two months!" My mom said. "I will be sure to keep you updated," I replied. "And no boys!" My dad followed up. "Blech! heck no! boys weren't even on my mind at all!" We shared a laugh as we have a tearful hug. "I'm gonna miss you..." I said with a slight shakiness to my voice. "Cmon don't start acting like a kid now. You'll be fine." My dad said, and my mom smiled as ran a bit before waving away to the village and starting my journey. "First stop, Camon city!" I yelled and ran down the trail. Finally, I'm starting my journey to be an adventurer.
