Excuse me what did he just say! Maria thought, the look of confusion evident on her face. As she looked up to see who just claimed to be her mate, she met a pair of dazzling amber eyes and sleek black hair, some clinging to his face from running. Sweat beads running down his face to his oh too-defined chest. Maria loved what she saw. Wow, now that is a man right there. She dared thought to herself. She broke her gaze when she heard him clear his throat and said.

“Who are you”? He asked. “I should be the one asking you that question mister”.She replied. Nicholas was shocked that she had answered that way to him no one has ever talked that way to him even his own father. So he responded, “ I am Nicholas Rose the alpha to the Midnight Rose pack, your mate and who might you be missy”. He smirked when he said the last word. “My name is Maria Delonzzo, um why is your pack name also your last name? Also, you are not my mate”. Maria said sternly. Crossing her arms in disagreement. 

“Wanna bet” Nick retorted. As he leans on the door-post amused at the sight in front of him. He leaned in close to her, touched her arm slowly, he chuckled as he saw the little goosebumps rise on her skin from the contact and her face flush red from the tingles. One thing was evident she was not prepared for this morning. Then out of know where smell has gotten 10x stronger in 2.5 seconds! Huh? Nick said to himself. His wolf intervened with his thoughts saying. 

“Our mate is going into heat soon”. With that Nick’s wolf took over and marked Maria! Maria passed out due to shock, and Nick picked her up bridal style and walked to the pack-house with her close to his arms. The moment Nick walked in he hear this blood-curdling voice say.
