Riley had already arrived and him and his dad were already busy unloading stuff from the back of his dad's jeep.

When they heard Alex's truck pull up, Riley immediately ran outside and his eyes lit up.

Alex barely had time to get out of the car before Riley pulled him in for a hug, their hearts were beating a hundred miles an hour, the reality that they were moving in together finally hitting them both, it was thrilling.

The two had grown much closer since the start of the week, spending as much time as possible together, they had new knowledge of each other and it showed in how they acted.

Alex's mom watched on, eyes tearing up at the reality that her little boy wasn't a little boy anymore.

She swept both of them up into a tight hug, emotion written on her face, Riley had taken to Alex's mom hugely, after not having a mom of his own for so long.

They both returned her hug and stayed like that for minute or two while she calmed down.

Amelia straightened up and brushed the tears from her eyes, "Sorry the reality of it all just hit me." she smiled.

"lets have a look inside shall we?" she said.

Alex nodded and they went inside.

The first room they entered was a kind of entranceway to the rest of the house, just a place where people could store shoes and coats when they came to visit, this led into the lounge, which had a fire roaring in the hearth and a wicker basket nearby full of firewood, in front of the fire sat a pair of black leather armchairs and a small 2 seater sofa to match.

Riley already had his tv set up in the room and his games consoles were in a box next to the cabinet the TV sat on.

A short corridor had 4 doors on it, 2 on the right, 1 on the left and 1 at the end.

The first door was a kind of storage room, loads of Riley's boxes of stuff were already in there, the other door on the right opened up into a large bedroom, with an extremely large bed being the most prominent feature of the room, a chest of drawers was pushed into the corner of the room and at the side of the bed was a small nightstand.

A door in the room led through to an en suite bathroom with a sizable tub, a toilet and a sink, a shower head was mounted above the tub.

Heading back into the room they opened the door of a decent sized walk in wardrobe.

the other 2 doors were also bedrooms, so they could have guests stay the night if they wanted to.

they headed back to the lounge and through into the kitchen, the heart of any home.

A modern looking stove and oven had been installed along with a dishwasher, next to the granite worktop stood a large fridge-freezer combo, which had already been stocked up on inspection, a mixture of fresh food, frozen stuff and general essentials.

A door in the kitchen opened up into a utility room, with a washing machine and a dryer as well as some shelves to store stuff.

Alex and Riley had both completely fallen in love with the place.

The next few hours were spent lugging boxes and bags full of clothes into the cabin, by the time they realised it it was already 6pm.

"Why don't we all go out to eat, to congratulate you on your new home?" Robert suggested.

The boys nodded enthusiastically, absolutely famished after the intense work of the day.

Amelia nodded her approval and they all piled into Robert's jeep.

"So, where do you boys want to go, any ideas?" Robert asked.

Alex shook his head, he still wasn't entirely sure of the restaurants in town, besides the few that he and Riley had been to.

Riley suggested a small thai restaurant called the Thai Orchid that had only recently opened.

Robert smiled in approval, putting the car into drive and making a beeline for town.

They made it to town rather quickly and managed to get a table at the thai restaurant.

All of the staff there were part of the pack or knew of the pack, so the sight of the Alpha strolling through the doors was a shock to everyone.

The alpha chuckled, "No need to be so respectful, i'm not here as the Alpha, just as a father congratulating his son."

The customers smiled and noise soon returned to the small restaurant.

Nobody could decide what they wanted so Robert ended up ordering a bunch of different stuff from the menu and asked for 4 plates so they could share.

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was good, Robert kept recounting stories from when Riley was little that were so dumb they brought a blush to his face thinking of how stupid he was back then.

Alex and his mom were giggling along with Robert's impression of how Riley had once got stuck in a tree trying to get his kite back after it got stuck.

Riley reached over under the table and took Alex's hand in his, Alex smiled and intertwined their fingers.

All in all it was completely wonderful evening.

Robert drove them all back to the cabin, the boys were getting sleepy, and so was he Robert admitted to himself.

It felt good to have company, it had been so long since he'd had an evening like this, just a close group of family and friends eating and joking around, not since Riley's mother passed away from leukemia.

The boys waved goodbye to their folks before heading into the cabin, the fire was starting to die down but it didn't matter, the underfloor heating kept the place warm, the fire was just for ambience to be honest.

They hugged each other goodnight and swapped a swift but sweet kiss before they each selected a bed and fell into it.
