The realisation hit me like a brick on the face. Of course! Characters and people are connected. Not by memory, but by emotions. That explains why people don't have that low of an intimacy score like they had in the game. Maybe that's why some days we wake up irritated and other times we are cheerful.
That also explains why Julian was so...um...flustered around me. That would be what Prince William felt when I kissed him and confessed to him.
That's just...wow. So is this a place all humans living in their subconscious? If so, how come I am experiencing both in full conscience? That also means that if I cheer up Sir Edgar here, Kaden would be cheered up too and my chances to not get killed will increase. My eyes sparkled as I glanced at him.
"Umm... Sir Edgar!", I said, slapping his back, before I realised what I did and withdrewing my arm sharply, "I was going to bake a cake. So I was wondering which flavour you would prefer?"
He looked at me wide-eyed. Jackpot. Kaden's only weakness is sweet. Feed him or just promise him anything sweet and he would do anything. I was not very sure if it would work on Sir Edgar, but apparently, it worked. He started at me intently. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before at last saying,"I am sorry Kayla, but do you even know how to cook?"
I could see he now that he was stifling a laugh. I huffed. "I can"
"No, you can't. I have known you since forever and I have never seen you ever enter the kitchen, let alone cook."
"We'll see. We'll see. If I win you will do anything I say"
"Well, I already kinda do everything you say but...fine. And if I win you do anything I say"
"Deal"
Little did the poor knight know that although Kayla didn't, Amelia sure know how to cook. Amelia baked the cakes which were the reason why Kaden developed a sweet-tooth.
