Tower Defense

Subjugation Duel

Subjugation Duel

Mar 04, 2021

"I have used up the allergic gas-bomb on the mealots. Now, only the smoke bomb left. There are merely 3 more stone pallet projectiles left in the slingshot gun. The injected power will only remain for a limited amount of time. I have to be careful as well as resourceful." Omer evaluates the situation.

Then, for a brief glance, he shifts his eyes towards the scene where Olaf is grappling and struggling with the golems.

The golems are slowly advancing towards Olaf, who is being beaten due to his lack of strength.

He fixes his gaze back to the goblin chieftain warrior, and takes a deep breath. "Alright. It’s now or never. Here we go."

The air around him freezes for a moment like a block of ice. It doesn't last long, but it feels as though time itself has halted for a moment.

The tension is so thick right now that  he can practically touch it. He doesn't know what to expect from this wily goblin chief, who looks notorious for his tactics.

The goblin chief is a vile looking creature, with a big nose and even bigger lips that are always turned up in a sneer. His eyes are small and close together, and his yellow teeth form a snarl even in this moment of surprise. He has a short, dirty gray beard, and his skin is nearly as dark as his overalls.

His hand twitches. Just his index finger toying with a bolt, but the whole hand twitches.

Omer looks at his eyes, but they are shifting focus all over the place, it would be difficult to guess what he is focusing on in the first place.

Omer edges back, just a little bit, before he realizes what he's doing.

With a sigh, he slips into his peripheral vision, watching the goblins fingers.

Then, he lets out a burst of speed like an arctic frost.

His movement is so swift as if the very air is frozen solid. He moves with unnatural speed.

Omer engages his battle to subdue the Goblin chieftain.

The goblin chieftain is a very skillful warrior. He stands there waiting for Omer to get close enough like a great cat awaiting its prey, as he continues to draw his bow and release arrow after arrow like a great cloud of locusts descends upon someone, encasing the person in a thick gray cloud and causing the person to become increasingly weaker and more helpless.

However, Omer dodges every single arrow shot by the goblin chieftain like a battle wizard, sprinting as  a butterfly, continuing to push forward with his battle.

The goblin chieftain tries to speed himself up and shoot more arrows, but his decrease in accuracy accelerates as he flails about trying to shoot more arrows at Omer.

Each arrow is dodged faster than the next one. Before anyone could realize what was happening, Omer already moved on to the next spot.

Omer is on the goblin chieftain warrior and he is dodging the arrows by super fast speed like lightning.

As Omer struggles to reach the goblin in time to strike him like a great viper, the goblin desperately tries to slash at Omer with his dagger, but Omer's quickness saves him from that fate.

The goblin shoots yet another arrow. This time instead of hitting Omer's clothes or flesh, the arrow goes straight into his arm like  a hot knife through butter.

Omer winces a little bit from the excruciating pain of the arrowhead going into his arm as blood pours out of his wound, but he doesn't let up.

He ignores it and continues to fight.

Omer finally reaches the goblin chieftain, and the battle between the two of them becomes fiercer.

He punches the goblin in the face, breaking and scattering teeth like  chattering of hapless broken windows. The goblin chieftain stumbles back, trying to keep his footing, but Omer isn't finished yet.

Omer kicks him to the floor like a ball of putty. The goblin chieftain falls and hits his head on something, and Omer hopes it is the oven, because that's where the goblin chieftain's mother cooks the soup.

Omer attempts to reach the goblin, who was quick to get up and draw a sword  akin to a typical video game baddy.

The goblin charges at Omer like a madman, wielding his sword.

He dodges the goblin's swings as he approaches and quickly jumps back before the goblin can land a blow. The goblin tries to follow up, but again Omer manages to dodge and knock the blade away like  a pole-vaulter clearing a bar.

Then, the goblin chieftain does something completely unexpected. The goblin prepares for a long distance shot, raising his bow as he jumps and runs back a good twelve feet like  a professional baseball player stealing second.

The goblin releases an arrow, which sails through the air and buries itself into the wall behind Omer.

The first shot misses, but the second one slams into Omer's shoulder causing him to grimace in pain.

He attempts to ignore the burning arrow shaft, and instead focuses on the goblin who is still ready to shoot his next arrow.

The goblin fires another arrow, which glances off the side of Omer's head.

Arrows continue to stream out of the bow, but due to Omer's temporary supernatural reflexes, and the fact that they are far away compared to Omer, they don't hit him as much success as they did before.

The arrows do, however, cause enough damage that Omer is slowing down like a car with a flat tire. This is all the time the goblin needs to strike.

As Omer turns his head to see the goblin ready to shoot another arrow, Omer does something amazing. Like a javelin, Omer quickly moves closer to the goblin, before suddenly jumping back and throwing a small vial filled with green liquid .

The gas is highly dense, and the vial was very specifically designed to create a large amount of gas at a low concentration. When the vial breaks open, the cloud of smoke surrounds the goblin chieftain like  a blanket of green haze, and temporarily deprives him of oxygen, causing confusions and dizziness.

The stench hits Goblin chieftain at this close range.

His eyes start to water and burn, and he begins to cough like he is attempting to choke down a wasp.

"Curses! I am unable to see anything because of the gas!" Goblin thinks to himself as he readies more arrows into his bow like a broken soldier awaiting orders while trying to rub the stinging in his eyes.

Then, suddenly, goblin notices something coming at him emerging right from the wall of smoke clouds in front of him like a demon from the infernal realm.

"Yes! Found you." Dizzy goblin keeps darting arrows one after another only to discover that the arrows are going straight through the pack. It’s Omer's backpack covered in thick smoke, not Omer.

A distraction  method!

"Got you now." Omer says standing in another direction as he is holding his slingshot gun, aiming at Goblins legs like a doctor aiming a syringe. The goblin tries to raise his bow one more time, and drop more arrows into the bow, but to no avail.

The goblin is helpless as the gun spits out 3 half cooked stones, 3 shots slam into the goblins legs, which break the goblins' bones like a bullet, causing him to fall into the ground with a thud.

"Ha ha! Now, I can finally interrogate him and torture informations out of this guy." Omer grins deviously as he searches the chieftain, finding a golden ring, a few coins and a note with some cryptic numbers on it.

The goblin chieftain, too proud to be captured, shoots himself in the head like a derro trying to kill himself, and dying instantly  in order for them not to reveal what he knows.

"What the...!" Omer  is speechless.

"Wow, apparently he wasn't born yesterday. Who would have thought that this little guy would end up becoming such a prideful bastard."

As soon as the goblin chieftain dies, the clay golems collapse and crumble like a house of cards.

Olaf was getting cornered and tired fighting the golems. Seeing the golems getting collapsed  has relieved a lot of the pressure he was under.

"Never seen a golem, let alone that many of them. And battling them without any magic is a whole new challenge." Olaf says as he catches his breath. "I think we could probably use some rest."

Omer nods.

Dead body of the goblin chieftain lies there frozen, housing various objects. Omer notices that the goblin's  armband possesses a valuable feature.
