In this world of fantasy and magic, there was a truth. All are not created equal. It has always been the rule of this world. Those who had mana were called nobles. Those who didn’t, were the common people.
But there was an exception, that wasー Maru.
He was a person who was ‘granted’ the authority to use mana. This was the key reason as to why he could survive with those wounds. Those who had the ability to use the element of Light were known as healers. These healers were the ones who could save him.
But of course that wouldn’t be possible if he had no mana. Healers though they had the ability to heal, they were what’s known as the ‘secondary-healers’. Secondary healers were nobles. The only way they could heal someone was through substituting their mana as energy for the body to heal. And this could only happen when both the healer and the one getting healed had purified mana.
That was why secondary healing which could even recover a cut-off arm was exclusive to nobles. As they used mana that was purified within the body.
However there was a way for those without mana to heal themselves. They used primary healing magic. Which did not require purified mana, as it was substituted with mana from mana stones and potions. But that was the biggest drawback, due to the fact that it was highly inefficient in healing and could only accelerate the healing process of the body. Which was why the divide between the commoners and the nobles initially widened.
Now with the war against the demons that has been on a stalemate for the most part, cept for a few battles. The gap between the commoners who weren’t granted anything and the nobles who had the authority to do anything widened the divide further.
But that story is for another day.
Maru had to experience immense pain due to having a low-mana reserve. Afterall he was only recently granted the authority. And so instead of mana it took his body’s energy. Everytime it happened his body and mind it was as though the both were splitting away.
And in the end Maru’s ‘authority’ had to ‘make’ something. This was [Skills]. The skill that was made for him was called [Affectus]. Which’d allow him to keep a calm mind in any situation. Even allowing him to nullify pain that he’d experience. An invincible skill that wouldn’t be affected by anything.
