'Higher gluttony... This is great to have his means now I would get a full complete copy of the skill I steal and if I cook it just right, I may even get something better!' I jumped in excitement. Moments after my small celebration, my stomach grumbled loudly. "Right, let's stop wasting time, town is right up ahead." I continued to walk down the path until I finally walked past the gates leading into the city of Camen. It was an energetic town. Market places, and business districts alike. There was an arena for those willing to test their combat skills for money or glory.
First things first, I would have to register as an adventurer. Doing things will be hard enough as it is, being an adventurer with all those privileges would help. Going places without having to pay the entrance fee and certain access to royal libraries and weapons. With these and more being an adventurer would be a huge help. I located the nearest adventurers guild and took a look inside, it was bustling with positive energy. Despite that, my presence was noticed by a few surprised looks. Abysmalls don't normally leave their homes. Much less survive the way here, most of the people in our home are level 5 at most. I calmly walk to the receptionist and like the people before I received another surprised look from her.
"Hello, welcome to the adventurers guild. How may I help you today?" She asked, sounding as polite as could be. "I would like to become an adventurer," I replied. She went down and got a paper and slid it to me and handed me a pencil. "Please fill out this paper," she said. As I filled it out she looked at me. "Do you have any previous battle experience? it'll help us decide where you should start," she told me. "Well I've killed some of the bores, bears, and goblins using my traps and sometimes with my sword, and I ended up fighting this big burly guy. He was the leader of a group of bandits." When I finished my sentence she froze for a while. "Please wait here, ill be right back." She went upstairs through the staff room. 20 minutes later, five guards come out and grab me by the arms. "come with us ma'am the headmaster would like to see you," One of the guards said. "No I'm good I'm not gonna sit here and let you grab me." I used to empower and flipped over the guards holding me. Then, I grab the heads of two guards and slammed them together before kicking the last guard in the head.
Shortly after, more guards came and tried to come at me as well. this time with their blades brandished. Before an even bigger scene. However, a booming voice entered the room. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?! told you to escort her to my office not start a fight!!" A short man with a long beard came out. 'Man I totally forgot about dwarfs.' I tried not to laugh at his short stature. Dwarfs are short creatures but don't let that fool you. Many are very powerful. They are skilled in both blacksmith skills, and earth magic, but some are also good at business. "But sir she started getting aggressive!-" The dwarf cut him off. "I saw everything it looked like you started that, everything Ms. Jane did was out of self-defense." He looks up at me. "I deeply apologize. please, follow me to my office" He kindly said. "Uh, sure, ok I guess," I replied.
We went to his office upstairs and we sat across from each other. "Now this may be rude to say but recently we've gotten a report that one of our more troublesome criminals was killed by an Abysmall. Now, we didn't believe it at first but after hearing what you said we had to take precautions we wanted to make sure you haven't made any deals with a devil to get this strong." His eyes glow a bright yellow. 'An aura-sensing skill, I see...' There isn't just danger sense. There are sensory skills to detect traces of magic from angels and demons and much more though being able to detect divine and dark magics are high level. I then checked his status.

'He's strong, anyone about three times your level and over is so strong you cant check their stats, He's at least level 60' As I was going through my thoughts he spoke up. "seeing you now, it doesn't seem like you aren't in any connections with evil beings. I apologize many of us doubt could even get here, let alone take down a C- rank bounty," He told me. it makes sense, humans are for the most part powerful compared to us and some of them can be as strong as an oger like the guy at the village "That's fine I understand. I simply want to become an adventurer." I politely replied. "Well seeing your abilities right now id put you at D+ but you can take an exam to raise your rank," He informed. "I'm fine with that, when does it start?" I asked it would be nice to prepare. "The exams begin tomorrow afternoon and end in the evening," he replied. I got up from my seat. "Well then I'll see you tomorrow," I said waving goodbye.
Not too long after I had found a cheap inn where I could rest. After buying 2 weeks' worth of stay, I sat down in bed and once again looked at my stats. 'Going forward, A class will be beneficial' I pondered what to choose as there were many options. Classes were important as they would decide how you would play the game, they decided what skills you had access to, and what points grow more than others, but they also have certain things that you can be proficient in and you grow more with said classes depending on what class you choose. "let's see now, Seeing as I'm already super strong and fast with my greatsword, Ill go barbarian.' Barbarians are extremely strong and beefy too being able to tank and be a good DPS, but they lack magic abilities and have low mana but since I spent so long without a class my magic grew decent so mana won't be a large issue, for the most part at least.
Now I had to choose which kind of barbarian, This is kind of like subclasses in other RPG's but instead you still gain levels as whatever class you choose, you just grow a quarter less than you normally should if your a normal barbarian, however, the branch you choose will also grow making up for it. 'seeing my current skills, the best one for me issssss a dark barbarian!' I chose and the instant I did images popped up.
You are now a 'Dark Barbarian!'
Strength, agility, and endurance grows by +5 per level
Increase to the stats above raised by 15
Exp gained from animal-based monsters increased by 40%
You are now a proficient user and learner of axes/great axes, swords/greatswords, and shields.
Any passive based skill involving darkness will increase exp growth by 30%
The darkness is your domain, +10% mp, and hp regen when in the dark (increases by 10% per level)
'Dark Barbarian' skill tree unlocked!
A skill tree popped up on my screen, skill trees are well, things that give you skills based on your class, they have branches of skills for you to use like the darkness magic branch and the barbarian branch, to unlock these skills you need skill points, the better the skill the more points are required to unlock said skill which can be obtained from mostly C rank quests and above but they can also be obtained by levels and special quests. Also after reaching level five, you get to choose an extra ability for every skill on the skill tree to level up the skills, you have to use it and then spend one skill point to level it up.
I got both the skills from the beginning branches 'Shadow bind' lv1 and 'enrage' lv 1. Shadow bind as the name suggests binds the opponent in darkness the darker the place the stronger the spell it only costs 5 mana for 3 binds but the more we bind the more expensive it becomes. Enrage is a skill that's like empower, but it increases your strength by four times and drops your endurance by a quarter. It stops you from casting spells for the entire duration and 5 minutes after you deactivate it doesn't cost mp and it'll last for however long but your mind is clouded a little by rage, you can control it but it may cause a few mistakes.
I then got skills 'Diversion' and 'Lunar Skin' for a total of 8 points. diversion is basically an agro skill that attracts monsters to you, it's a good tank skill and for gathering monsters into one spot. 'Lunar skin is a move that basically envelops your body in darkness protecting you from attacks and is stronger at night, at most during a full moon and in really dark places. I then placed twenty points in dexterity. It was useful for more skill-based things like crafting, acrobatics and swordsmanship, and any skill-based things overall, it also helps me control my speed better. I didn't mind where my intelligence was so I kept it the same and kept the rest of my points.

slipping off my shoes I head to bed resting for tomorrow. The next day I went to the guild and I was escorted to a field behind the guild, And it seems I wasn't the only one there. Mages, swordsmen and others, and someone in a mask. I couldn't see his face but he was staring at me, I could tell. "Ok everyone, you'll do a series of tested to see you, first up attribute tests," The worker said. 'Hopefully, I can impress the leader. but for now, let's focus,' I thought to myself if I wanted to move forward, I needed to do this.
