“I guess we are sleeping here for the night. Jin is out of it, Minou and I need to rest also.”

“Shouldn’t we get you guys to a hospital or something those injuries look really bad?”

“No, we will be fine.”

“No really. I really think we need to get you guys to a hospital.”

“We will be fine because of our Ki. We can focus our Ki to heal ourselves, so we should be good hopefully by morning.”

“Oh. Well that's cool.”

So the guys rest through the night to get ready for the next day and recover from their injuries. It's morning now and it is time to get moving but upon waking Jin is nowhere to be found.

“Maya! Maya wake up! Maya Jin is gone!”

“Huh what?”

“Jin he is gone!”

“What!!! We have to go find him!”

“Go find who?”

Jin walks up behind them.

“Where were you?”

“I went to a high point to scout ahead and make sure there wasn't anymore swarms out there.”

“Do you really think there would have been?”

“I don't know. Things don't make sense anymore. That was way more than any amount of demons I've seen at once before. On top of that a swarm attacked Toji Village but was lead by a human looking demon who was at least as powerful as a mid class demon. At first I thought this was the swarm but there wasn't any demon like that in this swarm.”

“There is no way there are multiple swarms like that.”

“Yeah maybe the leader left the swarm or something”.

“I don't know this whole thing is odd and I don't like it. I wish Grandmaster Miyamoto was here, I need his guidance.”

“Would be nice to have his input.”

Jin lets out a sigh “Come on guys we need to get moving.”

The guys head off to the city. A few hours of walking and now the city is in view.

“Hey random question.”

“Yo, what's up?”

“So are you guys going to school for the time that we are in the city?”

“School? School? I want to go to school. I never been to a regular school?”

“You never been to a regular school before?”

“No I’ve trained as a guardian my whole life. So Jin can I go? Can I go? Please please. I really really really want to.”

“I mean if you really want to I guess so.”

“Awesome this is going to be awesome I can't wait.”

“Hey calm your tits. Focus, focus, we have a mission keep that in mind.”

“I know I know.”

“Jin stop being a jerk.”

“You are really casual about your life you know that.”

“What do you mean?”

“You do remember our mission is to keep you safe and to keep you out of the hands of the Underworld Lords?”

“I mean I know but you don't have to be a jerk.”

“Ok fine. Maya we will get you enrolled to Luna’s school.”

“What about you are you coming?”

“I guess I have to if Luna is going to go I have to protect her.”

“Why would you need to protect me at school.”

“Because demons don't care if you are at school or not if Balthazar is behind these demon swarms and Toji Village being destroyed he knows you have been awakened and will be sending out his low classes to come get you.”

“Oh… Well even more reason Maya should be at school than she can go places you can't.”

“Agreed.”

After a crazy journey the guys have finally made it to the city and are now down the street from Luna’s house.

“LUNA!!! LUNA!!!”

“Who is that?”

“Oh no.”

A strange guy is running down the street towards the guys.

“Luna, my love, I missed you.”

“Friend of yours?”

“Awhhh kind of.”

“You left without telling me. I was so worried.”

“Hi Noah.”

“Luna, what’s up? I missed one day of school when I came back, you were gone without a word, with this weirdo.”

“Who you calling weird you’re the one running down the street screaming.”

“What are you doing with my future wife anyway?”

“STOP CALLING ME THAT!!”

“But Luna don't you remember the pact we made?”

“That was like over ten years ago. You were, like, the only boy I knew at the time I also used to want to be Unicorn Princess but things change.”

“My love for you will never change and one day you will realize it too.”

“Ok lover boy out of the way we have business to attend to.”

“Hey, shut up.”

“No you shut up and more or I will move you.”

“Oh yeah you think so bring it on punk ass.”

“No no no no no we will have none of that. Noah we really have to get to my house I will talk to you at school.”

“Ok…. I got my eye on you jerk face.”

“Blah blah blah get out of the way.”

The guys make it back to Luna’s house. Kit and their mother are out in the front yard.

“Luna! You’re back!”

“Luna what are you doing here?”

“Mrs. Yi we need to go inside and talk.”

Everyone goes inside and Jin explains everything that happened, the finding of the cabbit, making it to Toji Village just to find it destroyed, the last orders given by Miyamoto, meeting Maya, the demon swarm, and the current situation.

“So why aren't you on your way Montevallo now?”

“Well to be honest even with Maya’s help with both her and Luna’s current abilities I don't know if we could make the journey safely, especially with Balthazar aware of Luna’s presence.”

“Than count me in on protecting Luna.”

“What the hell?”

Noah jumps in Luna’s house from a open living room window.

“Where the hell you come from?”

“I never left I was listening in the whole time because I knew something wasn't right and good thing I did, no way a wuse like you could protect my Luna.”

“Get out of here Noah there is absolutely no way you could help.”

“But Luna have you forgotten I'm the number one junior candidate for the Protection Squad Academy next year.”

“Whoopty freakin do. I’m a full fledged Guardian you are not even on my level matter of fact you aren’t even in the same game as me.”

“I will have you know I’ve been training at the Soto Martial Arts Academy for most of my life. What you think about that tough guy?”

“Noah didn’t you hear about Leven losing a fight to Jin?”

“What?!?”

“Yeah that's right so why don't you sit down and shut up the adults are talking.”

“I don't have to stand here and take this crap I’ll leave, but mark my words punk this isn't over.”

“Really because it feels pretty over.”

Noah leaves. Jin and Mrs. Yi return to their conversation.

“I swear there is something wrong with that boy. Anyway so what is the alternative?”

“We stay here in the city and I train Maya and Luna to get to a higher level so that we can safely make the journey.”

“Speaking of, Mom, I would like it if Maya could stay with us for the time being seeing she has nowhere to go.”

Kit hops out of his seat. “Oh oh oh I second that I second it.”

Maya giggles

“I don't see a problem with that as long as Kit can behave himself. Jin what about you?”

“I'll find somewhere nearby and camp out so I can keep an eye out on Luna.”

“No why not just stay here best way to keep an eye on Luna is to stay here.”

“What?!? Mom, no.”

“Luna calm down you know I'm right. Best way to keep you safe is to have Jin as close as possible.”

“That's not necessary Mrs. Yi.”

“No I’m insisting on this one.”

“Mom we don't have the room.”

“Yes we do and you know we do stop being a butt.”

“Yes Mom.”

“Boom all settled Jin and Maya will stay here while he gets you guys up to snuff to safely make the journey. In the meantime tho, Maya you are going to have to go to school how old are you?”

“Fourteen.”

“Ok good you will be able to go to the same school as Jin and Luna. I have a friend who works at the school will be able to get you all set up to go by the morning.”

Night time arrives and there is a knock on the front door Luna answers the door and its Lynn.

“How dare you just leave town without a word for five days and just come back without saying a word! The only reason I know of anything is I bumped into Noah earlier.”

“Lynn hey. I’m sorry for not saying anything but...”

“Hey what's going on?”

“And you!”

“Me?!?”

Lynn busts into Luna’s house and storms over to Jin.

“Where do you get off just running away with Luna. Matter of fact what are you even doing here now? Did you two run off and get married or something?”

“What? NO! Chick are you crazy?”

“Me marry Luna are you on crack? Are you on crack Lynn?”

“The heck is that supposed to mean? You should consider yourself lucky if you ever got a woman half as awesome as me.”

“Yeah Ok.”

“Um Hello? I was yelling at the two of you stop ignoring me.”

“Lynn sorry for leaving without telling you but trust me I had no other choice see what had happened was…”

(cough) “What did we just get done talking about?”

“Oh yeah. Lynn I want to tell you but I just can't it's too dangerous.”

“Don't give me that crap. I want answers NOW!”

“What is with all the yelling?”

“Now who the heck is that?”

“Hello my name is Maya?”

“Oh hey Maya nice to meet you I’m Lynn….. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!!!!”

“Ok enough of this sit down and shut up Lynn.”

“WHO DO YOU THINK YOU’RE”

“SIT!!!”

Lynn sits down and Jin breaks down everything that's happened the last few days.

“Ok I'm calling BS.”

“Why would I lie about all this.”

“I don't know but this all sounds like BS to me if you are a Guardian prove it.”

“How?”

“Do something that only a Guardian could do.”

“Um OK.”

Jin gathers his Ki into his hand.

“There how’s this?”

“…OK.”

“And now that you know you can't tell anyone too many people already know. The more people that know the more at risk Luna is.”

“Luna you have to tell Leven.

“Am I talking to myself over here? What did I just say?”

“I know but everyone thinks you two ran off with each other. Luna you don't want Leven thinking that you two are secret lovers do you?”

“Who the hell cares what he thinks?”

“I’m sure Luna does considering Leven is her boyfriend.”

“What, no he isn't we went on one date together, that is it.”

“You went on a date with that fool?”

“You sound jealous Jin.”

“You shut up.”

“You can lie to yourself all you want Luna but you and I both know it was more than “just a date”.”

“Lynn shut up!”

“And besides who better to protect you but the best fighter in town aka your boyfriend.”

“Stop calling him that he isn't my boyfriend yet.”

“Yet?!? Anyway Luna I can appreciate your situation but under no circumstances can you tell him the truth. Besides he wouldn’t be any help he is weak, he would never stand a chance against any of the demons I’ve come across.”

“Shows what you know he has killed a demon before.”

“I do not care no one else can know. It’s bad enough Lynn and that idiot Noah knows. Who knows what stupid stuff he will try and pull seeing how in love with you he is. Than on top of that Lynn knowing puts her in danger as well, we aren't talking about run of the mill low class demons here we are talking about demons from the army of Balthazar even his weakest can pose a problem they already wiped out Toji Village, could you imagine what they would do to your friends.”

“Aww Jin I didn't know you cared so much about little ole me.”

“Well I mean ah I don’t want anyone putting themselves in danger for no reason.”

“Well good thing since I'm Luna’s best friend so while you are protecting her you will be protecting me as well.” (giggle)

“Anyway! Don't you need to be getting home now Lynn.”

“Oops looks like I overstayed my welcome. I’ll see you tomorrow…… Jin.”

“Um Um yeah see ya.”

“Girl bye see you tomorrow.”

Lynn Leaves.

“Jin what was that?”

“What was what?”

“Where you just flirting with Lynn?”

“What me? Noooo.”

“Looked that way to me.”

“Why are you still here? Go to bed or something.”

“You were flirting with Lynn.”

“Why does it matter anyway I’m not a monk or anything I’m a Guardian, yes, but I’m also a 16 year old red blooded man who would have to be blind not to notice how attractive Lynn is.”

“Well fine then do whatever you want but hopefully you don’t get too distracted from drooling over my best friend to protect me.”

“What the crap?”

Luna storms off to her bedroom.

“What just happened?”

Midnight rolls around and everyone in Luna’s house is sound asleep everyone except Jin. Jin stands guard on the roof ever vigilant. Jin is accompanied by Luna.

“Jin what are you doing out here?”

“Keeping watch. Can't be too safe just because we are in the city now doesn’t mean we are safe.”

“Don't you need sleep though?”

“I'll be fine. I'll have Maya take over in a couple of hours no worries.”

“Oh ok. If you say so… Hey Jin.”

“Whats up?”

“Sorry for being a jerk earlier. I don't know why I acted like that.”

“It’s cool. I'm sorry I flirted with your best friend in front of you like that.”

“It’s ok.”

“I mean if I knew you had such strong feelings for me I would have been more sensitive.”

“WHAT?!? Yeah right in your dreams Jin.”

“Are you sure it's not your dreams we are talking about? I mean I can't blame you I mean just look at me. Have you seen me. I'm pretty awesome. Stronger women have fallen to me.”

“Now you’re just having fun with me aren't you.”

“Pretty much.”

“Don't be a butt.”

“It’s just so much fun though.”

“Ha Ha Ha.”

“Ok Luna but to be honest I doubt you will have to worry about it. She just seems like a flirt.”

“I don't know. She told me already she thinks you are real cute.”

“Wait! What? When? I mean I mean that’s cool whatever.”

“HA! Ok Jin way to keep your cool there buddy. I'm going to bed goodnight.”
