Not looking like a stalker was difficult, having in mind that Nick went through her Facebook profile more times than he would have been ready to admit.
Nick knew that just sending Mia a message would make him sound like a creep, so he spent hours contemplating what he should do.
He never had a similar problem before. Women always wanted to meet him, and they found very creative ways to do so.
It was never necessary for him to contemplate the way to meet someone he liked before. The prospect of having to do so now made him feel nervous and insecure. It was so strange for him since he hadn't felt like that since he was a very young child.
As a child, he was very insecure and shy, but he worked hard to become more confident after being teased and bullied by his peers.
Nowadays, no one teased him, but no one told him the truth either.
It was like he reached the other end of the spectra where people were afraid to tell him the truth for fear of him. The fear was unfounded. However, people weren't ready to test him, having in mind how powerful he actually was.
Being the one in power felt good but, in turn, meant that there was no one to challenge him, to keep him grounded, and he missed that.
He had a sneaking suspicion that no matter how shy Mia was, she wasn't the kind of person who lied just to prosper. She seemed honest, but then again, he knew nothing about her.
For some reason thinking about Mia made Nick think about The One. It was the strangest thing ever, one that he had never shared with anyone.
Often times when he was home alone, he could feel her presence. His soulmate, or however people chose to call it, was sometimes with him, in his mind.
He knew how crazy it sounded, but now he couldn't help but wonder if maybe Mia was that person.
Was she the girl he could sometimes feel with him, the girl of his dreams, so to say?
An accidental meeting might be a lot more than then Mia and Nick bargained for. It's not what either one of them expected but only one of them is ready to accept the feelings that start developing. Will they be able to accept the fate and enjoy it?
For some reason, Nick keeps having vivid dreams that feel more like memories about a guy named Mark. Is there some connection between the dreams and the present? Why does he seem to have powerful feelings for both the man of his dream and the woman of is waking hour? What does it all mean for him?
