"I have never been interested in guys, but in that dream, I was into that guy.
"Well, I really like Mia, so I couldn't be gay, could I? The problem is that I felt something similar for her as I did for the guy in my dreams. Does that make me bi?" Nick wondered, still confused and flushed from the strange dream he had.
To Nick, it didn't feel like he was more into guys or girls. It felt like it was about who they were as people, not their gender. He liked the guy in his dream for who he was, and the same goes for Mia.
On the other hand, he didn't know anyone of them, so why would he feel that way?
He couldn't actually explain it, but he had a feeling that it would be good for him to explore his feelings.
Once again, it was the society that made him confused. Society's need to classify everything made him feel like he should figure it out as soon as possible. As if he had to have a label for the world to be able to accept him and maybe even start to notice him for who he was and not what he did.
Nevertheless, Nick knew that no matter what he did, society would find a fault in him. Instead of exhausting himself trying to figure out the best way to describe himself, he deiced to just go with the flow and see what happened.
He didn't own explanations to anyone, and as for himself, he felt it he would understand himself when the time was right.
The next day Nick went to the coffee shop where he met Mia and was shocked to discover that Mia was there with Stacey and a few other friends who seemed very friendly.
He went over with the excuse of saying hi to Stacey and ended up shaking hands with everyone, even Mia.
Once their hands touched, a shock went through Nick's hand, catching him by surprise. He could see from Mia's reaction that she felt it too.
After letting go of her hand, he started to walk away, knowing it would be too much to intrude. However, one of Mia's friends asked him to join them, and he did.
At first, Nick felt like he was intruding, but they were so friendly that he soon felt very comfortable. Everyone except Mia and Tea tried to include him in the conversation and were generally fun to be around.
Nick couldn't help but glance from time to time towards Mia, feeling the strange sensation of warmth spreading through his whole body. When she smiled at her friends, Nick wished that smile was meant for him. He wished he was the one who made her smile like that.
It was such an unfamiliar feeling that Nick didn't actually know what to do about it. As the night went on, even Mia started relaxing and talking more with him.
At first, the conversation was a bit strained, but soon enough, Mia was more open than he ever saw her. She was friendly and witty, and he couldn't help but like her even more.
Before the night ended, he managed to get Mia to accept the contact request he sent her on Facebook. From her reaction, he could sense that, for Mia, that was actually a big step.
It made him happy that he was the one she wanted to do that step for.
After they said their goodbyes, Nick went home. He was so tired that he went straight to bed, thinking about Mia and how amazing she was.
An accidental meeting might be a lot more than then Mia and Nick bargained for. It's not what either one of them expected but only one of them is ready to accept the feelings that start developing. Will they be able to accept the fate and enjoy it?
For some reason, Nick keeps having vivid dreams that feel more like memories about a guy named Mark. Is there some connection between the dreams and the present? Why does he seem to have powerful feelings for both the man of his dream and the woman of is waking hour? What does it all mean for him?
