Nyra Rosemite

 "Miss Amelia why do we have to come to the demon lords castle? Weren't we supposed to finish my Martial training in my courtyard at home?" I ask with wonder.

 

"My dear apprentice a colleague of mine has contacted with a most peculiar case. Do not worry we will continue your training as soon as we make ourselves at home in the lords castle." Amelia pats my head to reassure me. 

 

After a few days of being in a carriage we finally make it to the lords castle. Let me just say it was absolutely massive. I've only looked at the castle in pictures I never imagined it would be so breath taking. I get to live it in too, I cant wait to tell everyone how cool I am for staying in the demon lords castle. 

 

Our carriage pull up to the front of a giant staircase that leads to the front doors that are way bigger than they need to be. I step out onto the front porch and take note of everything around me. To my right is a vast garden with a giant maze. I can see the tip of a fountain in the center of the maze. To my left is an open court yard with a giant person staring menacingly at someone who looks about the same size at me. He points his finger straight at me while staring at the boy and kicks him to make him start walking in our direction. He makes his way to us and this boy is by far the cutest thing I have ever seen. He has crimson red hair that is a little shaggy, but it suits him. His slender facial features match perfectly with small body with perfect proportions. His horns are a bright Maroon color that contrast perfectly with his pink colored eyes. 

 

"Hello young lord my name is Amelia trudent and this is my apprentice from Nyra Rosemite. I have been told that you have a special case of abilities that require my attention." 

 

"Uh... yes umm I have been told uhh that uhh umm... that, that umm.. my name is Kynor Tetsia!!" He yells worriedly.

 

The entire time he is trying to find the words to say his eyes never left mine. Why does he keep staring at me for. Wait, can he read my mind did he hear everything that I just thought about him. Oh my gooood... I can't believe he knows.. 

 

Miss Amelia speaks again. "Little lord no need to be nervous no one here bites I promise. Why don't we walk inside and speak together with your parents how does that sound."

 

Kynor nods his head yes and runs off up the stairs when two people emerge from atop the stairway. I see Kynor run behind a tall woman who is just plain gorgeous with her purple hair and pink eyes. Oh... that's where he gets his eye color this must be the queen. Next her is a strong confident man who welcomes us both and gestures us inside. 

 

Inside we all sit at a table with food in front of us as we begin conversing with one another. 

 

"Lord Ulric would you be able to tell me exactly why you have summoned me?" My master asks.

 

"Of course. Due to some unforeseen circumstances little Kynor was forcibly enlightened in order to help prepare him for his future endeavors." He says reluctantly

 

"Wait you're telling me you forced his mana veins to rapidly grow in order for him to detect magic in the air sooner than letting him grow into by himself? My lord forgive me for speaking freely, but how stupid do you have to be in order to put your own child through that sort of punishment! If he wasn't up to the task you could have killed him yourself! Let alone some sort of assassin sneaking his way in to the job for you!" Miss amelia shouted. 

 

"Kynor why don't you take lady Nyra and show her around the castle while we settle and explain things here." said Lady titania.

 

Kynor grabs my hand. "Come on why don't we start with the maze, I saw how excited you looked at it when we were outside." 

 

Oh my god where did his nervousness go isn't he supposed to shy and timid. My face feels like its on fire I hope I’m not blushing.. I look up at Kynor and he gives me the most genuine smile he could make before dragging me along outside towards the maze. We walk slowly together for awhile before he breaks the silence. 

 

"Miss Nyra?" he asked

 

"Eep Umm yes?" I stuttered nervously. 

 

"Can I marry you in the future?"

 

"Wha Wha Wait wait wait whaaaaat!!!!" I stumble backwards at his confession to me. He's blushing and looking around nervously as I try to gain my composure. "I mean we're so young and you're the future demon lord so I really don't think I qualify as a suitable partner I mean sure I’m a princess of the kaladan empire, but I don’t wanna marry for political reasons. So I say no to you're offer because I know your just trying to use me."

 

Kynor looks shocked as he spoke. "you're a princess? Wait no I’m so sorry forget everything I said I didn't mean to insult you."

 

"What do you mean you retract your offer! What since I’m a princess I’m not good enough for you or something! huh! For you're information I have several offers a day just because I’m a princess so what gives you the right to tell me that you don't want to marry because of that same reason! Huh..?!" I make a fist and I knock him upside the head to put him in his place. 

 

"Ow ow ok ok I’m sorry I’m confused now. Do you want to be with me in the future or not?"

 

"I will that answer up to interpretation. Maybe if you prove yourself somehow or someway, then maybe I will think about it." I say with conviction.

 

Cutting us both off at the perfect time I hear Miss Amelia shout for us. We both walk back together giggling with each other about the events of what just happened. I think Kynor is even more confused than we were in the maze. 

 

"Young lord please come with me, you as well lady Nyra." We walked for about 30 min to make our way to a wide open meadow that is so large I cant see it end over the horizon. "Ok Young lord First lesson starts right now. When you picture magic what to imagine in your head?"

 

"I think of the Northern lights I see every winter with momma and daddy." He declares

 

"Umm ok.. not what I was expecting, but regardless I want you to close your eyes and picture those northern lights flowing through your body. Then do your best to aim the lights in your hands. Once you feel a mass of energy I want you release that energy forward. got it?"

 

Kynor nods his head in agreement and closes his eyes. I watch curiously thinking that there is no way that someone my age can do magic. I mean even I can't do it yet all I've been doing is training with the sword since I’ve come of age. I notice a faint magic array form in his hand with the constellation of a white rose in the middle. Wait I've never seen a white rose constellation Array. Miss Amelia has shown me all sorts of magic, but she's never shown me this one or talked about it for that matter. What is Kynor doing? Before I could think anything else white flames emerge from the his hand and immediately engulf me surrounding me in a white pillar of fire. 

 

"Miss Amelia! What happening I’m scared. I don't know what’s going on!"

 

"It's ok child don't move you are going to be ok." she's says out of breath.

After a few minutes the beautiful white flames stop spinning around me and dissipate out of sight. I look around and notice that there are several dead bodies around us. I look up at miss Amelia and she is snapping the neck of a black hooded figure. Her horns look as if they're on fire while she channels a magic array to shoot an air wave that slices through the last hooded figure behind me. Amelia looks exactly like the evil devils that the humans describe she is smiling while she relished the moment of killing these eight men surrounding us. 

I look over to find Kynor collapsed on the ground. I rush over to him to see if he's ok. I reach to him to find his skin pale and sickly. "Miss Amelia what’s wrong with Kynor he's sick!" She walks over to us both and pats me on the head. 

"It's ok dear he just has a bit of mana exhaustion. He's used to much mana since it was his first time. Also when we get back make sure to thank him for what he did today ok. He is a remarkable young boy with a bright future ahead of him."

Confused I decide not to ask anymore question. We make it back to the castle and Queen Titania rushes to Kynor and takes him to his room so he can rest comfortably. After a few moments of silence the queen makes her way back. 

 

"We need to talk about Kynor, Lady titania. There is much to discuss about him and his future."
