The two strolled through the pack house hand-in-hand, winding their way towards the alpha's office.
They halted before the heavy oak door and took a moment to compose themselves.
Alex raised his hand to knock before Riley quickly leaned in for an abrupt, yet sweet kiss.
Alex smiled before knocking on the door.
The alpha's voice boomed through the door, "Enter".
The two pushed the door open, the alpha was slumped in his chair, poring over some papers.
"You two okay?" he asked softly, looking back and forth between the two.
Alex nodded dumbly, "Good." the alpha replied.
"I want you to understand that i am going to do everything in my power to protect the two of you. I've already ramped up patrols around the borders to ensure no rogues can sneak into our lands." Robert explained.
"In the meantime i would prefer that the two of you refrain from venturing out of the territory, i don't want to give the rogues any chance to cause harm to you both."
both boys nodded their acceptance to the alpha's request, causing him to visibly relax a little.
"I'm glad you're both accepting this, i was nervous you'd throw a tantrum about being stuck here like usual Riley." Robert said softly.
"I guess meeting Alex has kinda brought my priorities into perspective dad, i know that i would do anything to keep us together, i don't want to imagine a future where he isn't by my side." Riley said quietly.
A fierce blush spread across Alex's face at Riley's words, knowing that he also felt the same way towards him.
Alex turned away quickly just in time for Riley not to notice the blush on his face, the alpha had seen it though but thankfully kept it to himself.
A small smirk was the only response from the alpha.
"Now, you two head off and do whatever, i'm meeting that rogue family soon and i need to finish this paperwork before they arrive." he said to the two.
The pair nodded then headed out, once they were out of the office Riley looked at Alex, "You wanna watch a movie or something? we can use my dad's home theater room, he won't mind."
Alex Nodded, "Sure, sounds good."
They made their way through the halls before stopping in front of a nondescript door while Riley fished some keys out of his pocket.
"My dad keeps this room locked for us to use privately, the last time he let other pack members use it they absolutely trashed the place, the sofas were so drenched in soda it wouldn't clean off, he had to get entirely new sofas, and don't even get me started on the carpets." Riley laughed lightly.
"The other pack members have a separate theater room now, but they're in charge of keeping it clean, if the rooms a mess, my dad refuses to buy any new movies until it's cleaned to his satisfaction."
Alex chuckled, causing Riley to smile at him.
"There we go, found the right key finally. Lets go in."
They stepped into a room with dark blue walls except the far wall which was dominated by the biggest tv screen that Alex had ever seen, it was bigger than the one's he'd seen in the cinema in town that was for sure.
In the middle of the room sat a pair of comfy looking brown leather sofas, with blankets folded over the backs in case it was cold in the room.
A pair of doors led off the room, one into a bathroom the other led into a room with all different kinds of snacks and frdges full of drinks.
The kicker for Alex though was the full size popcorn maker pushed up against the wall.
"Jesus, this is epic dude." Alex gasped.
Riley let out a small laugh, "Perk to being part of the alpha family. we can basically get whatever we like so long as it's not completely stupid. This room was the biggest thing my dad bought when he married my mom, he wanted somewhere they could just be alone and spend an evening together."
Alex was stunned, this was the first time that Riley had ever openly talked about his mother, he'd promised himself that he wouldn't pry though so he settled for this small victory.
"Grab whatever you want and i'll set some popcorn going, get a movie picked and i'll set it going." Riley said.
Alex nodded and pulled open a fridge, he grabbed a couple of bottles of water then turned and grabbed a bar of chocolate from the shelf then headed through to the theater.
He browsed the selection of movies that were piled into the drawers under the huge screen and spotted one that caught his eye.
It wasn't usually his kind of movie but this one seemed to draw him in, he pulled it otu and set it to the side as a maybe then proceeded to pull out a couple more.
Riley came through with a couple of buckets of popcorn and set them down on the coffee table in front of the sofa before walking over to Alex.
"Find anything good?" he asked.
Alex pointed to the small stack of DVD's next to him, "These ones all seem pretty good, so any of these is good with me."
Riley nodded and flipped through them quickly.
"Huh, this is one of my favourite movies, wanna watch this one?" Riley asked.
"Sure."
Alex straightened up and made his way to the sofas, he took a seat and pulled his feet up, tucking them up under him.
Riley soon followed to the same sofa as the opening of the movie began playing, once he was settled Alex leant over and rested his head on the other boys shoulder.
Riley misunderstood the show of affection as Alex being cold and reached over to drape the folded blanket over the two of them, before wrapping an arm around Alex.
Alex smiled and snuggled in closer, relaxing in the other boys embrace, totally bllissed out from the wordless show of intimacy from each other.
The movie played and the boys relaxed with each other.
"This is nice, we should do this ore often." Alex murmured to Riley.
He felt the tremor of the other boys laughter as he chuckled.
Riley leant down and planted a kisss on Alex's forehead, "We can do this whenever you like sweetheart."
Alex smiled to himself further as the night continued.
