Bakugou knows he's gotten too comfortable being close to people, he knows he craves affection and attention, and Kirishima provides, he hates it. He has never needed anyone or anything, just himself, he hates it. He hates that he's starting to rely on other people. He hates feeling this way. He feels lost. Weak. As he looks into Kirishima’s eyes he sees trust, happiness, and something else Bakugou can’t quite put his finger on. He doesn’t understand how people can like him or “be his friend” bc he knows he's mean and he's purposefully like that so people will stay away, but stupid Kirishima had to mess with him and tear down the walls he spent so long building. Bakugou has to look away from Kirishima’s eyes because his own start to tear up. ‘Fuck I can’t cry right now.’ Kirishima puts his hand on Bakugous shoulder. Bakugou flinches.

“Hey bro, are you okay..?” He says with empathy in his tone.

“I'm fucking fine, don’t pity me.”

“I'm not pitying you, you are the strongest person I know I just want to make sure you ok.”

And at that moment Bakugou breaks.

His eyes spill over with tears and his breathing got heavier.

As soon as Kirishima sees this he immediately wraps his arms around the blond-haired boy.

“I think it’s been ten minutes do you want to sneak out of here and go back to my dorm, and we can talk?” All Bakugou can do is nod.

“Ok, here you can wear my hoodie so you can hide your face because your eyeliner is all smudged.”

Kirishima takes off his hoodie and gives it to bakugou. Bakugou takes off Kirishima’s flannel and puts on the grey hoodie and puts the hood up. They walk out with Kirishima’s arm around Bakugou's shoulders to hide his face more. Bakugou walks over to the elevators, while Kirishima says he's leaving to everyone. Bakugou steps into the elevator and holds the door for Kirishima. After about 30 seconds Kirishima steps into the elevator and presses the button for the fourth floor. Bakugou feels himself dig his nails into the palm of his hand, it’s a nervous habit he developed, and Kirishima notices. Kirishima grabs bakugou hand and holds it with his own, Bakugou feels warmth spread through his body, this calms bakugou but also makes him nervous, making his hands sweat and threaten to ignite pops of his quirk. 

“I'm gonna hurt your hand,” Bakugou mumbles, holding back the urge to use his quirk.

“How?” Kirishima says confused.

“My hands are sweaty, and my quirk uses sweat to work, so my quirk sometimes goes off on accident if my hands are sweaty.” 

“Hmm ok... I have an idea.” Kirishima lets go of Bakugous hand and hardens his own.

“Now try and hold my hand, sorry if my quirk hurts you.”

“Okay..” Bakugou says wearily. He puts his hand on top of Kirishima’s and interlocks their fingers, and besides a few cuts, it works. Bakugou lets a pop of his quirk go off and Kirishima doesn’t wince so he assumes it didn’t hurt him. Kirishima smiles and Bakugou can’t help but grin a little. The elevator doors open up revealing the fourth floor and the boys start heading to Kirishima’s room hand in hand. They walk into Kirishima’s room still holding hands and they sit on his bed. It’s only about 9:30pm and neither of them is tired so they decide to watch a movie. Kirishima puts the movie on his laptop and puts his laptop on his lap, and they both lay against Kirishima’s wall. About thirty minutes in Bakugou feels his eyes droop, almost completely shutting, and he lays his head on Kirishima’s shoulder. The last thing he feels is lips on his forehead and then it’s dark.
