That is, until the two start to fight again, starting off in the cosmopolitan-styled living room. It’s the early morning, and André is awoken by barrage of loud noises and music. André feels the bed and feels that Tiana isn’t in the bed. Groggy and annoyed, he walks out of his room to see Tiana is aggressively exercising, something that visibly alarms him. “Alexa, turn off the music” André yells. The house falls silent once the music leaves and Tiana turns around.
“Tiana, it’s four in the morning!” André yells. She looks at him with guilt, with André asking “Okay what is going on?”. “I’m not doing well; I’m really not doing well” Tiana responds, as she grasps her head. “You know that I haven’t done well, and you just never seemed to care-” André interrupts her, stating “Oh stop it. I know you haven’t been doing well, but you can’t say I haven’t been there for you”. The two stare at each other, both seeing a very different version of their selves.
“What have you done to be there for me?” she inquires.
“I do it all. Every gallery, every event you have hosted I’ve been there, every time you needed help finding certain materials, I pulled strings to make them happen, when you needed emotional support during your highest of highs and lowest of lows I’ve been there to help” André mouths back.
“But that all changed when you had that ONE bad review and your original space for hosting your art closed down. You did the one thing we both agreed we wouldn’t do in our careers, and that was allowing one bad review, one rejection, one no to prevent us from seeing the sea of good!”.
Tiana frustrated, said in resignation “I think we should break up”.
“...Are you fucking serious, you want to break up over this?” André asks.
“No. It’s more than that” she responds. "So much more than that".
She quickly packs up her things and started loading her things into her sedan. With her final items in hand, she prepares to leave, until André holds her hand to stop her.
“Tiana...please don’t go. Can’t we talk this out?”
“I’m sorry, but it’s for the best. Not just for me, but for you too.” Tiana responds.
André lets go of her hand, as Tiana vanishes into the night and into the heart of Los Angeles.
