A Death God's Conquest

I Can't Sense A Heartbeat

I Can't Sense A Heartbeat

Mar 16, 2021

Alerik was stumped, he saw he had made a catastrophe of his assignment. With everything within a frozen state, the only one that could move was the Death God himself.

"Why should I be scared?"

The Death God never knew fear but all of a sudden a dreadful sensation began crawling it's way inside of him. His clear analytical mind was taking in everything around him at a  speed beyond the ordinary.

"I can't sense a heartbeat from the human, I have to presume he is dead."

Alerik spoke in a tone devoid of life, as a Death God he had performed multiple soul ascension rites such that nothing moved him except when he saw the grave error that he had made from snuffing the life out of another rather than the drunkard who would have driven past and gone his merry way had he not stepped in on time to manipulate the space time continuum.

Alerik covered the distance with his God-like speed and was soon at the wreckage that once belonged to Lu Henry.

"He really did die."

Alerik was on a mission as the Death God  when he was struck by misfortune. He mistakenly went to strike out the name of a human who happened to be at the wrong place and at the wrong time, thus inflicting an unjust death on the human.
Dr. Lu Henry was leaving work to return home to his family when a car out of nowhere T-boned him, causing a massive hemorrhage and an untimely death.
The Death God had broken the laws of the heavens by claiming the life of an unsuspecting human, a mere careless act and his divine powers were now at stake.
Alerik is at a race to turn back time and undo his mistakes or risk losing all his powers and sentencing the human to a life of eternity in the underworld.
Love sure has a funny way of bringing the unlikely pair together but would it hold against the sanction from above?
