In a calculated move of his own volition, Alerik tore through the rubbles to pull out the body of Lu Henry from the wreckage which was like that of a rag doll.

Blood smeared and broken the Death God laid the human on the asphalt road in the stillness of the ungodly hours of that morning.

With precision Alerik's hand speared through the chest of Lu Henry as they sought the liveless heart of the deceased.

The sharp fingernail from the thumb of the Death God slashed the pad of his index finger in one quick sweep. Dark blood began to trickle from the finger of Alerik as he flicked the bleeding finger across the dead heart of Lu Henry.

"You and I are in this together, through thick and thin until I am able to find a resolution to our predicament."

Little did the Death God know that the words he spoke had sealed his fate with that of the human whom he sought to use as leverage in his quest to absolve himself from all wrongdoing.

The Death God had broken the laws of the heavens by claiming the life of an unsuspecting human, a mere careless act and his divine powers were now at stake.
Alerik is at a race to turn back time and undo his mistakes or risk losing all his powers and sentencing the human to a life of eternity in the underworld.
Love sure has a funny way of bringing the unlikely pair together but would it hold against the sanction from above?
