I'm so glad that the two boys are as close as they are, a mate bond is a fragile thing to be honored until such a time as they consummate their relationship, at that point their bond will become nigh on unbreakable.

I sigh and look back down at the reports laying on my desk, it's a report of a pack of rogues headed in our direction, i believe these rogues are the same ones that tore apart the refugee family's pack and made them homeless.

I have already decided that i will offer them sanctuary and the chance to join my pack as long as they swear their loyalty to me and my bloodline.

A quiet knock sounds at my door, "Enter." i say loudly.

The door swings open to reveal the family, i hadn't realised i had been absorbed in my thoughts for as long as i had, i thought i had more time before this but, whatever.

"Please, take a seat." I smile gently, trying to reassure them that i  am not a threat to them.

I observe their faces carefully, you can easily see that they were all related, the two children i could see were obviously twins, both shared the same angular jaw and mouths that were obviously made to smile, the edges naturally curving upwards.

But there was no smile on their face, nothing but sadness and terror lived in their eyes at this moment.

The parents took a seat in the chairs recently vacated by my son and his mate, allowing me to see the final member of the family.

My wolf immediately pegged him as an omega but what caught my eyes were the bruises and bitemarks that littered the poor boys' shoulders.

I could guess at what had happened to him and it made my wolf howl in rage at how that could have happened to somebody.

The look on his face was entirely apathetic, he showed no emotion as my eyes travelled over him, i felt a strange need to protect the boy and his family from hardship and suffering.

I felt a bond with him, not a mate bond but something just told me that he was important.

The father of the group lowered his head as a sign of respect before clearing his throat, "Alpha, i am glad that you agreed to meet with us, i wished to pass on this message personally rather than through a pack member as a precaution."

These words piqued my interest, "Go on".

The father began recounting their tale.

-Flashback-

the rogues had appeared in the dead of night and attacked without mercy, one of the pack's scouts had been persuaded to join the rogues in the attack, leaving a hole that they could use to infiltrate their territory without letting the alpha know what was happening at the time.

A broken sob broke free from the man as he recounted how the door to their house burst inwards as everyone was getting ready for bed.

Ethan, the omega, had recently turned 18 and had been out looking for his mate all day and was just settling down to watch a movie with his parents.

The rogues had broken in and forced them all to the ground.

The rogues tried to force information out of Ethan's parenst using threats of violence against them, and lying about setting them free once they knew what they needed to.

When they didn't give in the rogues decided to punish them.

They forced Ethan's parents to watch as they took turns violating him, several of them also beat, strangled and bit the poor guy throughout the ordeal.

Suddenly the alpha appeared in their doorway, and boy was he pissed.

He dived through the doorway and directly onto the nearest rogue, ripping his throat out.

The pack is fallen, you mjust flee while you still can, I am gravely injured and will not survive much longer but I will buy you as much time as I can.

Head east from here to the large pack there, tell the alpha exactly what transpired and warn him to be careful of possible traitors within his pack.

The parents nodded and fled through the broken doorway, their kids in front of them so they could protect them.

Ethan was bundled up in his father's arms, the ordeal causing him to lose the strength to support himself.

The father finished recounting the story to me and slumped forward, it had obviously taken an emotional and mental toll on him to recount that but I am glad that he did.

"Thank you for telling me your story, i will put the information to good use to ensure that this does not happen in this pack. furthermore i have a proposition for you all." i waited a second to gauge their reactions.

"I would like to formally invite you all to join my pack, inexchange for your loyalty to me and my line, i will personally ensure that you all receive the best care possible here and will do my utmost to guarantee your family's safety."

Their eyes widened at my statement, it obviously appealed to them, suddenly i realised that during the whole conversation i had not so much as asked their names.

"By the way, i apologise for my rudeness, i did not even ask your names or offer you something to drink." i spoke, a small amount of guilt in my voice.

"My name is Thomas, this is my mate Martha. Boys would you introduce yourselves?" the father responded.

the twins lowered their head to the alpha in respect before replying.

"My name is Reece, you can differentiate between my brother and I through the mole i have above my eyebrow."

One of them replied.

"My name is David, it is a pleasure to meet you alpha." the other esponded.

My gaze travelled to the last member of the group.

"Ethan" he responded.

Thomas whipped his head round to berate his son for his lack of respect but i set my hand on his shoulder before softly shaking my head.

Thomas sighed and relaxed, glad that i wasn't angry at the boy.

"You've all been through so much and i bet you're all exhausted and hungry. I'll have my beta find you some rooms, the most i can give is 3 right now though so some of you will end up sharing if that's okay?" i asked.

Thomas nodded, relief evident on his face, "that is absolutely perfect alpha, i shall share with my mate and the twins cn share, we'll give Ethan the other."

I nodded and mindlinked my instructions to the beta.

"If the offer stands then I and my family would be honored to join the pack alpha" Thomas said softly, exhaustion evident in his voice.

I nod, "Very well, i'll conduct the ceremony tomorrow, you should all get some rest, i've ordered for food to be left in your rooms for you, my beta is on his way now, do you have changes of clothing at all or do you need some?"

Thomas shakes his head, "We left everything behind in our haste to escape."

"Not a problem, i'll find some clothes to fit you all somehow, we'll get the seamstress to make you some in the future."

I dismiss them once my beta, Jackson arrives and settle back into my chair.

I run through everything before linking my beta again.
