The Mafia's Code

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Mar 19, 2021

“Hey, Jaxon!” Bryan shouted, waving him over to their table.

“Hey, guys,” Jaxon said as he sat with them.

“So how was Mrs. Drama Queen last night?” Dale asked as he had Leia sit on his lap.

“Wait I know! It was ‘you Heartless Bastard!’ am I right?” Shane laughed.

“Yeah, that’s how it went.” Jaxon sighed, he didn’t even wanna remember last night.

“Do you know what you're gonna say to her yet?” Bryan asked him.

“I guess, I have an idea of what I wanna say,” Jaxon mumbled, he never wanted to see her again after last night.

“Well, you better figure something out and quick because here she comes,” Dale said as Jaxon turned around. Sure enough, Claudia was storming across the courtyard straight towards them. “We need to talk. Alone.” Claudia demanded as she glared at his friends. “Now Jaxon!” Claudia shouted, her eyes shooting him daggers. Jaxon sighed as he stood up from the table. “If you disappear I’ll tell your mom you love her and are sorry you died a virgin, and that you had so much potential to smash some hot slut.” Shane said as Jaxon rolled his eyes. “Shut up,” Jaxon mumbled as Claudia motioned for them to leave. Jaxon shook his head in defeat as he followed her. “Good luck Jax!” His friends called in unison.

“Remember, you got the potential to smash a hot slut!” Shane yelled after him. Jaxon held back his laughter as one of the teachers headed straight for Shane. Claudia grabbed onto his arm and dragged him into the school and to an empty classroom.

“Why are you doing this to me?” Claudia asked with tears filling her eyes.

“Doing what Claudia? Because so far the only one doing anything is you.” Jaxon said as he started to get angry.

“Don’t play dumb with me,” Claudia growled at him, her tears magically gone.

“No! You don’t play dumb with me. I’m done, Claudia! We're through! Forever this time, go find somebody else to blame your problems on. Because I’m done. Done with the insults, done with the lies, done with you!” Jaxon shouted at her. Claudia flinched, he had never yelled at her before no matter how angry she had made him. This was the breaking point and she knew it too.

“Like I care. I can get any guy to love me, I mean I had you under my thumb for two years straight. It’s easy to find another rich lap dog in need of a little love.” Claudia smirked the entire act she had put on for so long vanishing before his eyes.

“You useless whore! I hope you find somebody you genuinely like and they treat you like the way you treat everyone else.” Jaxon shouted at her as he stormed out of the classroom.

“The man, the myth, the male stripper! He has emerged successful!” Shane shouted in his announcer's voice as he saw Jaxon walk back into the courtyard.

“How did it go?” Dale asked him. Jaxon sat in silence for a moment, he could barely begin to process what had just happened.

“I ended it,” Jaxon whispered, saying the words made him feel better.

“Yes! Sparky Heartbreaker had finally done it, folks!” Shane cheered.

“How do you feel man?” Bryan asked him.

“Free, I feel free.” Jaxon chuckled as Dale patted him on the back.

“She deserved to finally be put in her place.” Leia scoffed, rolling her eyes.

“Let’s hear it for Sparky Heartbreaker! The stripper that finally vanquished the Drama Queen!” Shane cheered.

“Mr. Daniels how many times must I ask you to lower your voice and stop making comments about inappropriate things.” Mr. Matthews sighed as he walked over to them.

“My apologies sir,” Shane mumbled as he sat back down.

“and Mr. Vargas, Miss. Snyder does not belong on your person.” Mr. Mathews said, shaking his head as Dale quickly set Leia on her seat.

“Mr. Santoro, Mr. Morgan, and Miss. Reyes, I will see you next period.” Mr. Matthews said as he walked away.

“I would say let’s skip his class like usual but he saw us. We've been caught before the chance of rebellion!” Bryan chuckled as he stood up from the table.

“It’s best we go anyway, if my mom find’s out I've been skipping classes I'm toast.” Jaxon laughed, shaking his head.

“And that would mean no pounding into a hot slut! We gotta get you to class!” Shane said as he jumped up from his seat and grabbed Jaxon’s arm.

“Good luck Jax!” Dale laughed as Shane dragged Jaxon off to class.

“Don’t you have somewhere else you gotta be?” Jaxon asked Shane.

“Shit, see you later man,” Shane said as he ran off to his class.

“Wow, Shane got you here on time.” Bryan laughed as he walked up to the classroom with Stacey.

“Mr. Santoro, Mr. Morgan, it's a pleasure to see you in class today.” Mr.Matthews said as they walked into the classroom.

“I'm delighted that you decided to grace us with your presence today.” Mr. Matthews joked as the class laughed. Jaxon smiled as he rolled his eyes and sat down.

“Careful there might be a layer of dust on those desks.” Stacey laughed as she sat next to them.

Jaxon just shook his head as he started to space out, things looked like they were getting better for him. If only it could last forever.
Jaxon was startled out of his thoughts as the final bell rang. Jaxon looked down at his desk and saw a folded piece of paper. Jaxon quickly opened the note and read it, all it said was to go to the back of the school at the end of the day. Jaxon sighed Bryan must have left it before he ran off. Jaxon quickly packed up his stuff and left the classroom. He had a few minutes before he had to get home. Jaxon walked out of the school and around the back, as soon as he turned the corner something felt off.

“Bryan?” Jaxon questioned as a figure appeared out of the shadows of the school.

“You wish,” Clarence growled as he stepped into the light. Clarence was Claudia’s older brother, he looked like the male version of Claudia.

“Hey man, I'm guessing Claudia told you what happened today.” Jaxon shrugged as Clarence stared at him as a predator did at prey when it hadn't eaten in weeks.

“Yeah, she did. She told me all about how you abused her and used her for her money. You selfish, worthless, pathetic excuse for a human. You're gonna get exactly what you deserve.” Clarence growled as he pulled out a knife.

“Whoa! Hold on! I didn’t do any of those things!” Jaxon shouted as he backed away from him.

“You're going to die tonight, you Heartless son of a bitch!” Clarence shouted as he lunged at Jaxon. Jaxon panicked and dove to the side, he cried out as Clarence’s blade ripped into his side. Jaxon fell to the ground and rolled away from him, he quickly stood up ignoring the insane throbbing pain in his side, and ran as fast as he could to his car. Jaxon got into his car and didn’t stop until he got home. Jaxon sat in his car and finally took a deep breath, as soon as he breathed in he felt the searing pain in his side.

“Oh god. I'm not gonna be able to hide that from my mom.” Jaxon groaned as he looked at his side which was drenched in blood. Jaxon gingerly climbed out of his car, tears filling his eyes as the pain grew worse.

“Hey, Jaxon! How was school today?” His mom called as he walked into the house. Jaxon tried to speak but it hurt enough just to try and breathe. He watched as darkness crept into the corner of his vision.

“Jaxon?” His mom called out to him again. Jaxon stumbled forward and fell against the wall.

“Jaxon! Oh my lord! What the hell happened to you!” His mother shouted as she ran over to him. Before he could even answer he collapsed to the floor as he blacked out. He could hear his mother yelling his name as he slipped unconscious.

Jaxon quickly sat up as he woke up. “Gah! Fuck!” Jaxon groaned as his hand flew to his side.

“Well you had to get 24 stitches and I have a feeling you just pulled out half of them.” A man said as he walked over to him.

“Where am I?” Jaxon asked as he looked around dazed.

“A hospital.” His mother said. Jaxon hadn’t even realized she was in the room.

“Take it, easy kid, you got sliced open pretty good.” the man said as he helped him lay back down. Jaxon felt lightheaded like the room was spinning.

“You lost a lot of blood as well, you’ll be alright. Luckily the sudden movement didn’t pull out any stitches. Just try and take it easy for a few weeks.” The man said as he inspected Jaxon’s cut then replaced the bandage.

“Mind if I ask who you are?” Jaxon chuckled weakly.

“Shaun, Shaun Alverez at your service.” The man chuckled.

“Jaxon what happened to you?” his mother asked her voice full of worry.

“Clarence Andor, Claudia’s brother. I broke up with her today, and she went crying to her brother about how I abused her and used her for money. He wanted to kill me but I moved outta the way in time, well almost. My timing’s a little off.” Jaxon sighed as Shaun handed him some painkillers and a glass of water.

“Where’s Oliver?” Jaxon asked, looking around the room.

“Stacey’s watching him back at the house.” his mother explained.

“Alright you're all set to go, just take it easy as I said, try to minimize walking for the first two weeks. Also, the painkillers I gave you are really strong, so you're probably going to pass out again or at minimum hallucinate.” Shaun explained.

“Sounds legit,” Jaxon mumbled as he felt his mind beginning to cloud.

“Shaun, can you help me get him to my car before he passes out?” His mom asked as she helped him out of the hospital bed.

“Of course.” Shaun chuckled as he helped his mom lead him out to her car. As Jaxon climbed into the car he could have sworn that he was in and an abandoned factory complex, it had to be a hallucination right?
