"What's a demon slayer doing here?" Vergon crossed his arms with his eyebrows ascending consciously.
Leloux seemed to be calm based on his expression outside, but deep inside, he was even more pleased to be called that way. It didn't bother him, but instead, it made him feel happier. He was glad to be called a Demon Slayer for the first time in centuries.
"I guess, all of you still call me that, huh?" he chuckled, throwing playfully the pitch-black flame on his palm towards Vergon. Fortunately, he immediately dodged it using his intuition.
Before the war between the demons and the werewolves have started, there was a demon, born with a god's imagination, who was so blessed and even had everything he didn't ask. No one named him since those who were born with a god's imagination will never be given a name. He had all the things and comfort; he had the emotional support; he lived a pleasant life. It's like the people in Garfin were revolving around him. But for a demon-like himself, it wasn't fun to have these things. Happy, smiling people; comfortable bed and tasty foods, he wasn't asking for them. All he wanted in his life was to become an independent person.
This demon wasn't asking to have those pleasurable things, so he decided to have fun a little. It wasn't just normal fun for us since many lives were involved from this occurrence, but somehow, he finds it interesting. Instead of having a comfortable bed, he wanted a bed of blood from his own people. Instead of having tasty foods, he collected a lot of human souls and feed them to the dead demon souls.
Slaughtering demons was kind of fun for him even though he wouldn't gain a lot of things from it but at least, the fun was still there. He became independent and free from boredom ever since he started to massacre his own. Those who witnessed his evilness named him "The Bored Demon Slayer".
The clan leader, Asmodeus, noticed the inappropriate act of this demon. So what Asmodeus did, he wanted this demon to become his disciple since he was interested in his slaughtering skills. In exchange, this demon would be free to exterminate all of the demons as long as he wants, and with the clan leader's permission. Since this demon couldn't say no to the clan leader, he instead agreed to him considering that the exchange wasn't a bad idea. Thus, he was named Leloux del Fuente.
In the present time, the two were still exchanging glares.
"What is an alpha werewolf doing here? He has the guts to show up in front of his mate's school after he left him crying? Wasn't he ashamed of himself? What a jerk." After saying that, Vergon smoldered with resentment and swallowed down his frustration.
"T-That's why I'm here to ---"
"Oh, I forgot," Leloux threw his handmade pebble onto Vergon's chest. The throw wasn't forceful so it didn't hurt much, rather, he became irritated because Leloux interrupted his speaking.
"Your mate felt so good," Leloux smirked as he patted Vergon's shoulder.
After hearing that, fury roared through Vergon's mind while clenching his fist in irritation. It may be a lie, but it may also be the truth. How could this demon say such a thing? Why did he say that? Does he have any special feelings towards Bryle? What could be his motive this time?
"What do you plan this time?" asked Vergon in a calm manner, bowing down his head with his fists still clenched. He tried hard not to get infuriated by what this demon said, at least for now.
"Oh?" Leloux stepped backward as he put his pointy finger on his chin, thinking what he should say whether he'd tell the truth or the lie.
"I think my mission is to kill him?" he continued with a teasing tone in his voice.
Vergon clicked his tongue and said, "Then why didn't you kill him already?" with a straight blank expression on his face.
After then, Leloux paused for a while because of what this werewolf unexpectedly said. He didn't know someone like him would say that about his mate. But then again, Leloux finds it amusing. A demon like him would, of course, feel delighted after hearing that. To think that the way he didn't expect those words from his enemy, makes him feel even more overwhelmed.
"I planned on killing him right away though. Will you be fine with it?" The demon, Leloux, chuckled while seeing Vergon's depressed face.
"Why are you concerned whether I would be fine or not? Kill him all you want then," he simpered while accidentally punched the tree.
Vergon was smirking but based on his feelings, he wasn't smirking because he wanted to. He did it to act tough in front of this demon. He wanted to win against this devil even if his feelings and emotions were to involved.
Emotions. The thing about emotions is that they always seem to be either in abundance or deficiency. Other times, the devil might be a smarmy individual, really pretty on the outside but nasty and controlling on the inside, like Leloux. Nasty in the sense of what would happen if he wasn't the one in control.
Leloux gasped and said to his mind, "That's it. That's the expression I wanted to see from you," again and again.
"Don't worry, I won't do it this time." He turned his back and raised his hand to wave. "Bye, little wolf," Leloux then vanished into thin air after manipulating Vergon's emotion.
All of us lived in a world that emphasizes trusting and moving with our feelings. The voices of the evil beings; appear nasty and can be loud and aggressive, gesturing with their sharp claws and growling with their deep voices. But the truth is, they can’t touch you. They could get right next to you and scream threats in your ear, but they can’t harm you.
The demons are real. It’s important to acknowledge that fact. But once you recognize that you can steer your boat despite their unwelcome presence, you will start to see the demons for what they are. As long as you believe their threats, they are in charge of the boat and you are left floating in an open, dreary sea. But when you see them for what they are, you can take back control of the tiller and sail anywhere you like.
But how about there's a demon that you wanted to defeat, but you haven't found its weaknesses yet? How about there's a demon that already exists in this world to find amusement and entertainment around? Would you be welcoming for this creature to reside in you?
Like a demon, the devil also likes to control others and when they do not have that control, they go berserk. This personification of evil has implications beyond the supernatural, influencing how we think about what it means for people to be “pure evil”. The greatest trick the devil could ever pull is convincing the world he didn’t exist.
Up to the present time, Bryle roamed around the university to search for Leloux. It seems like the classes have been already started, but Leloux still wasn't in the classroom yet. Instead, he volunteered himself in finding this guy so that their other classmates won't be bothered by their time.
"Where did he go?" He asked the air, irritated.
He unknowingly strolled around the park, where Vergon and Leloux talked earlier. For some reason, Bryle found a familiar figure of a man, standing on the tree, sniffing heavily. He went to check the man but before he could get close to him, the man stopped sniffling, and fortunately, he turned to him with a blank face. It was because of Bryle's scent that Vergon noticed him immediately.
For a few seconds there, the both of them were dumbfounded. "I-It's him!" both screamed in their thoughts when they finally saw each other again.
