“It's simple. All you have to do is get us a place before Monday and help Jay- I mean Kayla, return to her old life. As Kayla,” I explained.
“What? That literally makes no sense.” Jaclyn said.
“Ok… what did Kayla work as?” I asked.
“A… hotel receptionist.”
"How old is she?”
“25…”
“See like that, so that Jay can live as Kayla.” I smiled.
“I- That's ridiculous! I'd literally just be telling you everything about Kayla. Who knows what you'd do with that information!” She scoffed.
“Look, Jaclyn or whatever your name is. We are not murderers, kidnappers or psychopaths!” Jay exclaimed.
“Exactly! So will you please help us. Otherwise Kayla is staying with me.”
“Ugh, whatever. It's not like I have a choice. I'll tell you where Kayla lives. But I don't have her key so I'm gonna have to ask her landlord for a new key which might take 5 days,”
“F-five days? I said get it before Monday. Today is Saturday!” I exclaimed.
“Well, I can't do anything about that! Ugh, you're asking for too much. Why do you need another place anyways, you're literally living in a mansion!” She answers back.
“Because… because I need another place! Can't you make something work. Like let us stay at your place!” I suggested.
“Oh my gosh, I can't believe I have to do all of this just so that I can get my best friend back. You say you're not a kidnapper but you sure act like one,” she muttered and got up.
“Fine, let's go then.” she agreed.
“Really?!” I exclaimed beaming.
“Right now?” Jay, asked.
“Or you can come whenever you want.” Jaclyn offered.
"We'll come tomorrow,” I said. Jaclyn frowned and got up,
“Here’s my business card, my number’s on that” Jaclyn said, handing me a business card that was in her pocket. I looked at it.
“You’re a therapist?” I asked, looking at Jay who was clenching his fists. She nodded and left the house.
“WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU SAY THAT?!” Jay screamed at me.
“We had no other choice. Jeez, you're even squeakier than before!” I answered.
“No other choice?! What are you going to do after 9 months?! Huh?!” Jay asked.
“Jay-”
“No, not Jay. In 9 months I would be flipping Kayla! What type-” Jay stopped.
“What?” I asked. Jay covered his mouth with his hand. “What's wrong, Jay?” I asked again. He ran into the toilet. I followed him, he was throwing up inside the toilet.
“Jay, what’s wrong?”
“I just feel really sick.” Jay answered, wiping his mouth. I stared at him, intensely and then gasped.
“No way, are you… pregnant?!” I asked. Jay gasped, then shook his head.
“That’s ridiculous! How could I have entered a pregnant woman’s body.” Jay scoffed.
“Jay, if you are pregnant-”
“I’m not pregnant! Oh my gosh!”
“I’ll get a pregnancy test from the pharmacy. Wait here, if you feel weird text or call me,” I said.
“God, I’m not pregnant. Jeez, there’s no way. Also… I don’t have a phone anymore.” Jay muttered.
“What?”
“My phone is cracked. It probably broke in the car crash.” He explained.
“Ugh, I’ll buy you a test and a phone, I guess.” I left the toilet, grabbed my phone and left the house.
There was a pharmacy near my house and I’m pretty sure they sold pregnancy tests there. I was so nervous for Jay. If he is truly pregnant. There would be a serious problem, but fingers crossed that he's not. I took out my phone and the business card Jaclyn gave me from my pocket. I dialed her number in and held it towards my ear. Jaclyn picked up.
“Hello, who is this?” Jaclyn spoke.
“Uh… it's me, Mina.” I answered.
“Oh… it’s you… What do you want, now?” She asked.
"Um… Well you see, I just wanted to know if Kayla is pregnant or had a disease.”
“Kayla? Pregnant? Of course not, Kayla doesn't even want kids. And she's only allergic to milk, no other crazy diseases. You didn't give Kayla milk, did you?”
“No… Jay hasn't drunk anything apart from water."" I replied.
“Phew, don't give her milk. Once she drinks milk she has a terrible reaction.” Jaclyn warned.
“Yeah… I won't don't worry.” I said. Jaclyn hung up and I walked into the pharmacy. I looked around for the pregnancy test. Once I found it, I walked to the cashier and started paying for it.
“Is this for your spouse?” The cashier smiled, scanning the pregnancy test.
“No… it's for my friend.” I replied.
“Good luck to your friend then.”
“Yeah… sure.” I thanked and took the pregnancy test. I sighed and walked back home.
“Jay! I’m here- OH MY DAYS!” Jay was lying on the floor, holding his stomach and sweating heavily. I clutched my heart
“Jesus, you scared me. Are you ok?” I asked.
“If this is pregnancy, I’m aborting the baby.” Jay muttered. I sighed and helped Jay up.
“Come on you have to take this pregnancy test.” I replied.
“How?”
“I don’t know, I’ve never taken one before. In movies they just pee on it. Search it up or something.” I replied.
“Ew,” Jay mumbled and walked to the toilet. I flopped on the couch and waited for a few seconds. Jay walked out and sat next to me.
“What does it say?” I asked
“I think I have to wait…” He replied.
We waited for about 5 minutes. Something showed up on the test.
