Lilith puffed her chest out proudly and winked at the young woman. “We... are succubi!~ One of the most powerful types of demons out there!!!~” she explained while blowing a kiss.
Euryale shook her head and looked at Elizabeth. “Please don't take that last part as seriously. A succubus has high magical potential, but it's really dependent on the individual.”
Elizabeth froze up a little, as she remembered the kiss again. She was someone who was always fascinated by history and mythology, and was very familiar with the concept of a succubus. A female demon that would take the life force from men in their sleep, or that is what they were known for most commonly. It was a bit scary to think about, but it made sense now why her body had all of those strange sensations during their kiss.
“Before you freak out or anything, cuz you have that look on your face. I wanna clarify that I didn't take your life or anything!” Lilith quickly jumped in. “I knew after you slapped my hand away earlier that you had a well of magic inside of you... and it replenishes itself. So I was just able to take from that and not have to take away anything you needed!~”
While trying to process the whole idea of a succubus trio sitting only a few feet away from her, she asked an obvious question that she felt was going to have an obvious answer. “I thought you took energy away from men... not women?”
“That's an easy one!!!” Irisyla said excitedly, bouncing in her seat a little. “That stuff is allll human stories! A succubus or incubus can take energy from anyone, so it doesn't actually matter!”
Lilith gave Elizabeth an alluring stare as she spoke, “Our bodies can get back magic power on their own, but it's kinda insanely slow that way. So the only way to recover it quickly, or even instantly, is to have sexual acts with a human~ That's where you come in, Liz!~”
She leaned forward in complete shock, her eye darting between all three of them. “E-excuse me?!?!”
“That well of magic inside you is from an ancient demon legend about a being called the Umbral Queen. Someone with that power has a pool of magic that replenishes itself quickly and can even make those around her stronger!” She stood up from her seat and walked over to Elizabeth as she spoke. “We here are known as the Umbreise Clan, and I formed this group specifically so we could find you to join us.
“Well not exactly you, but whoever happened to be the Umbral Queen! Which is you!” she explained in a very roundabout manner. “We have been searching for you for a very, very long time, my princess~” Lilith pressed herself against Elizabeth and into the back of the couch. She leaned in closer to her face and blew out a little hot air against her neck.
Elizabeth shut her eye tightly as a tingle shot through her spine, covering her mouth after she let out a tiny squeak of a moan. This woman was way too much for her to handle.
Immediately following, Euryale smacked Lilith across the back of her head and dragged her by the ear back to her seat. “Lilith, you're going to give the poor girl a heart attack at this rate! Control yourself for a few minutes at least!”
“Ow ow ow!!! Okaaaay! Just let go, you're gonna rip my earring out!” she begged while tapping out against the chair.
Elizabeth opened her eye slowly as Euryale let go of Lilith. She took a breath as the red in her face started to fade away, clenching her hands together tightly in her lap. “The way you are acting and speaking about me right now... you seem to assume that I'm just going to agree to something insane like this. Am I right, or were you going to force me to do it anyway? Just like how that other woman from before was going to do?”
The room went silent, the three succubi quickly picking up on Elizabeth's change in demeanour. Although she was flustered moments earlier, they could see something sad in her eye. “O-of course not! We would never force you to do something like that!” Lilith quickly shouted.
Elizabeth looked at them all, with her empty and sad gaze. “Then why in the world would you believe I would agree to something like this? I... barely know you at all, and you want me to just throw myself at you like my body is a toy or battery? What does that mean for my life as a whole? Am I going to be in danger if I do this? It's too much to take in at once... and not a decision I can make on the spot.” She looked down and hugged herself slightly. “That's not something I'm comfortable with, and this is confusing for me! I’m having trouble accepting this is reality, and I have nothing to gain from this.”
She knew that feeling this way was a ‘normal’ reaction, but deep inside she was sad to say what she did. Although she didn't know if it was only because of the 'Umbral Queen' nonsense or not, it was the first time since meeting Ruby and Jett that people weren’t treating her terribly in a close environment. But the thought of it all being a lie or trick still rooted itself deeply in her mind, making the anxiety in her chest want to crawl out from her throat. “If possible, I would like to go home now please...”
Lilith was speechless, it was hard to tell if she had expected her to agree easily or not. Regardless, she was visibly distraught by the rejection.
Irisyla was also silent, but she seemed more confused by the overall situation than upset by the result.
Euryale stood up and walked over to Elizabeth, holding her hand out to the girl with a soft smile. “Come with me then. It's very late, so I will take you back to your dorm. That is, if you are okay with that?”
She nodded while taking her hand. “Thank you...” As she was being led out of the room, she stopped in the doorway and looked back at Lilith who had her head down. “And... thank you Lilith, for saving me. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart,” she said before following after Euryale.
Irisyla looked at her friend and whimpered with disappointment. “What are we gonna do now...? Never seen you look like this before.”
Lilith shrugged, leaning back in her seat and staring up at the ceiling. “I don't know, it's just hard to think about it when we were so close... and I may have ruined it for all of us.” She glanced at the empty doorway, digging her nails into her pants. “Maybe Yu will have a better way with words.”
Euryale led Elizabeth through the mansion until they reached the entrance hall. “We left your shoes and bag here for you.” She told her as she walked over to the large assortment of shoes, boots, and sandals that were neatly lined up near the front door. While slipping on her sneakers, she handed Elizabeth’s bag to her.
“Thank you... uhm, Yu,” she said quietly. After slinging her back over shoulder, she tied up her own shoes and was ready to leave. “Was I too cold about it? Should I have... considered it more?” Her mixed feelings were plain as day on her face. She knew there was a part of her that wanted to accept it without question, but didn’t know why.
Euryale flashed her a smile and walked up to the front door. “It's no problem at all! All of your belongings should be there.” She told her, gently placing a finger against the wood of the door. “Now let’s get you home.” Her finger began glowing with a small light. It glided across the door, swirling and drawing a large symbol with the same glow on it.
When she opened the door for Elizabeth, all that was present was a dense fog that was so thick that one couldn't see through it in the slightest. She could tell that she was hesitant to step through, so she took her by the hand and carefully led her through.
After stepping through the fog, they found themselves on the other side of it in a place that Elizabeth wasn't expecting at all; the university. It was almost pitch black outside, the only source of light coming from the beautiful moon and the lamp posts that littered the university campus. Crickets chirped obnoxiously while the humid summer air stuck to the women like glue.
When Elizabeth looked back, the door behind them closed on its own, but it wasn't any sort of mansion. Instead of the giant mansion she had explored, it was a broken down tool shed that was in one of the far corners of the campus. “How...?”
Euryale let go of her hand, uttering a quiet chuckle. “Our home isn't on Earth, or the human world, so to speak. But we can use magic to turn our door into a sort of portal that connects with a door here, as long as it has our clan mark.” She explained while pointing down to a very small arcane symbol that was carved into the wood on the bottom corner of the door.
“That's... really cool. But where do you actually live then?” she asked curiously.
Euryale rubbed the back of her head and laughed a little. “That's a bit harder and longer to explain. If you want to keep in contact, I can give the run down to you some time?” she asked her. She seemed eager enough about it, taking her phone out of her pocket and holding it out before hearing an answer.
Elizabeth reached out for it hesitantly, as if the phone was going to explode when she touched it or something. She carefully grabbed it from her and the two exchanged phone numbers with no accompanying explosions in the process.
Realizing that Euryale didn't know where her dorm was, she took the lead after this, while the succubus followed close behind her. The two walked in silence for a while, although it was kind of peaceful there was a tinge of awkwardness to it after what happened at the mansion. “Yu, are you upset about what I said about the, well, everything?”
She shook her head and gave the girl a reassuring smile. “Absolutely not, and the others aren't upset with you either. You have every right to feel the way you do, and this is your life, so you choose what you do with yourself.” When the two arrived near the steps of the dorm, she walked in front of Elizabeth and leaned near her. “That's one of the good things about being human, isn't it?” she said cheerfully.
Elizabeth blinked a few times and nodded slowly. “I guess so... but what are you all going to do now?”
“I don't know, Lilith will likely come up with something. She can be responsible as a leader, sometimes.” Euryale answered with a quiet chuckle. “But Elizabeth, I would like to ask for a favour of you.”
She raised an eyebrow and fidgeted with her hands. “What did you need from me?”
She cleared her throat and looked at her with a determined spirit burning in her eyes. “I would like you to please think about tonight seriously. I know this isn't something you are comfortable with, which is why I want you to at least give it some thought. Take as long as you need to give another answer, let everything settle. Can you do that for me?”
Elizabeth was taken aback by her, the determination in her eyes was admirable and showed how important this really was. In her mind she still didn't know what was really going on, who she could trust, or if she wanted to give herself like that to these people. But based on their reactions with her initial rejection, and Euryale's passionate determination, this didn't seem to just be them trying to turn her into a sex doll or anything. “O-okay... I will take some time to consider it.”
Euryale smiled and nodded graciously to her. “Thank you, from all of us!” She started to leave the dorm area, but paused and looked back at her with another serious look. “You mentioned before that you were nervous about being in danger, and that you had nothing to gain by helping us. From what Lilith told me earlier, we are not the only ones who were trying to find you.
“So if safety is what makes you shy away from this... keep in mind that someone else is trying to take you by force regardless of what your answer to us becomes.” She paused for a moment, then started to walk away again. “If there is anything you desire to gain from all of this, you can let us know and we will do our best for you. We don’t bite, after all,” she said before flashing a final smile.
Elizabeth watched as Euryale disappeared into the darkness of night, clutching a hand against her chest as she walked up the stairs. “Is there really a target painted on my back forever now...?” She tried shaking the thought from her head and went inside the dorm.
While moving through the common area, a group of girls sitting on one of the couches watched Elizabeth come in and walk across the room. “Wow, she's coming back super late isn't she?” one of them whispered.
“Look at her shirt, what kind of weird shit has she been doing?” Another one whispered while staring at the hole and stains around it.
Elizabeth sighed deeply and pretended to ignore them. She had forgotten about the state of her clothes, but the last thing she wanted to do was run to her room all flustered about it. She managed to be subtle about moving quicker through the dorm until reaching her room, crossing her arms to try and hide her damaged shirt. Once in the safe confines of her home she locked the door, kicked off her shoes, and dropped her bag next to it.
Elizabeth pulled her torn shirt over her head and tossed it onto the floor. She immediately flopped into bed with her phone out, staring at Euryale’s contact information on the screen. “What should I do?” she whispered to herself. While taking her eyepatch off, hundreds of thoughts went through her mind. “Friends... should I try opening up?”
“Elizabeth, all you need to do is take the first step. I know you can get more friends if you really try. You just have to find the right people.” Jett’s voice echoed through her head. While he was a quiet young man, his advice always helped her out and was something she held in high regard.
She glanced at the notifications in the corner of her screen. Her eyes flew wide open when the 21 new messages were displayed for her. “Oh god, I never replied to Ruby and Jett for this morning! They probably thought I actually died!!!”
