Mountains of Erlia, Kingdom of Kalvar,

"Luke, are you really guiding us onto the correct path?" asked Antonio who was walking behind Luke.

"I am confident that this path leads to the other opening which opens up inside the sewers of Altia," assured Luke.

"Yeah, you are telling this since we enter this place and got ourselves into a trap near the maze entrance," argued Leon who was struggling to keep his head from being hit by the rocky roof.

"Guys, I think I just stepped onto something," warned Lucia as something began to glow beneath her feet.

Leon turned back to check the source of light and saw that Lucia stepped onto an enchanted magic circle, to add to the trouble, She stepped into the middle of the circle which disabled the protective barrier around her.

"Antonio and Luke draw your weapons right away, we are in the middle of an ambush here. The protective barrier around Lucia has been faded and I am afraid we are prone as well," warned Leon.

Immediately, Antonio, Luke, and Jake drew their weapons and started looking around for any signs of Ambush. Leon, on the other hand, was holding onto Lucia who became unconscious after stepping into the circle. Suddenly, several black monsters of different sizes varying from feet to five feet tall appeared out of nowhere and started attacking them.

"All these monsters belong to a single species of Fiends. They are shadow fiends who live in the depths of the darkest dungeons and caves," informed Luke as he struck his spear inside two fiends making them dissolve into the mist.

"Beware! these fiends are more dangerous than they seem to be. They contain a special type of poison inside their gaseous bodies. If anyone of them hits you then, it would probably kill you within a few hours.

Antonio simply slashed his Falchion and two streaks of light came out of nowhere and hit the fiends decapitating them into the mist. Unfortunately, Every time Antonio and Luke killed a fiend it just came back to life and got bigger in size by combining their bodies. Antonio stabbed another fiend with his Falchion but, within a few seconds the fiend rejuvenates its body.

"These shadow fiends are immortal, How do we kill them and make our way out?" cried Antonio.

"We need light magic to defeat these fiends and we only got Lucia who is a cleric and could perform light magic. But, she is fainted" told Luke

"What! Now, you are telling me this when I already attacked a hundred of them with no results at all," argued Antonio while he stabbed two of the fiends who were about to bite his left leg.

"Don't worry, Leon is waking her up. Remember, He is the only one who is out of the range of the Fiends," assured Luke.

"Why shouldn't I, We are in grave danger and we all are dead now," yelled Antonio.

"Stop arguing you guys, Antonio, I know you will figure out something," said Jake.

"Why everyone is leaving the important things for me to figure out?" cursed Antonio in a low tone.

On one hand, The trio of Antonio, Luke, and Jake was busy keeping the shadow fiends away from Leon and Lucia, and on the other hand, Leon was trying everything to snap Lucia out of her state. Leon used his awakening potions on her but, all in vain as she was inflicted by a strong curse because of stepping into that magic circle.

"Lucia is not going to wake up until this curse is removed. We need a curse removal ritual to remove her curse. It will grow as the time passes and would probably kill her sooner or later." cried Leon.

"What are you saying!? She is inflicted by a strong curse?" questioned Antonio.

"That's what I am saying and we urgently have to get her to the cathedral and do the curse removal ritual," answered Leon.

"How much, How much time she has until that happens?" asked Luke who was busy killing the shadow fiends.

"According to my system, She has a day before she would fall in the hands of death," replied Leon.

"So, we have only twenty-three hours to save her. Since, the ritual takes around an hour to complete," commented Luke.

"What! this means we need to figure out something on our own to defeat these fiends," exclaimed Antonio.

"Indeed, Wait! I have found something inside Lucia's bag which could be of some help," said Leon as he threw something at Antonio, who caught the object with one hand while fighting with the other.

"What is this, A recipe book for fiends?" teased Antonio while glancing at the book.

The book gave off a golden glow that Antonio was only able to see. The book was heavy and had a hardcover on which some strange carvings were carved onto it. Antonio tried to read the writings and understand the carvings but, he hadn't yet unlocked the miscellaneous skill which would give him the ability to read the language of this world.

"I haven't yet unlocked the skill to read the language to read this world's language. How do I read it?" asked a confused Antonio.

"Use your brain and the system we gave you to read the language written on the book and it isn't a normal book but, A spell book and that too a light one," replied Leon.

"Which tier is it, Leon," questioned Luke who was busy fending off the fiends.

"It's a Rare tier spellbook, used only once and I think it's the perfect time and place to use it," answered Leon.

Meanwhile, Antonio used the system to translate the language of this World into the one he could understand and slowly muttered the words written inside the spellbook. As soon as he blurted out the last words of the spell, A light flashed and enveloped the whole place into its radiance. The shadow fiend immediately dissolved into the mist while growling in pain.

A slight smile appeared on his face and he turned around to thank Leon for getting them out of this trap. Seeing Antonio smile, Leon couldn't control himself and ran in his direction and hugged Antonio tightly. With the corner of his eyes, Leon saw Luke who was standing frozen at his place and his face had turned pale.

"Luke! What happened to you?" cried Leon and rushed into Luke, holding his hands.

"I think, I think I am bitten by one of the Shadow Fiends."
