-2 hours later-
After that weird blond girl fainted right in front of me, I decided to take her to my home area since I'm curious about her situation, and I can also ask for payment since I'm saving her from a possible monster attack.
With the help of my <Auto-mapping>, it was very easy to find my way back home, and even if I didn't have it I could always just follow the river back.
Happily, she wasn't heavy and I could carry her rather easily.
Now what I have left to do is wait for her to wake up, and since I really feel like going back to my magic practice just yet, I'll just look at the herbs I've collected when I first came here.
<Godly Demonic purple eyes>
[Status]
[
sanitatem herb
Tier:1
Description: This is a rather common herb that is also the main ingredient of healing potions, the problem with it is that since it's very similar to normal weed, it's often hard to find despite its abundance. Only those with appraisal-type skills, which are rare, can easily identify them.]
[
Tenku mushroom
Tier:1
Description: A mushroom grown from the leftovers of a tenku tenku fruit through alchemy about 100 years ago, this mushroom is now common in the Tenkuzu Kingdom. It has 1/10 of tenku tenku fruit's effect but has the side effects of indigestion and strong stomach aches.]
And that's it, the rest of what I got is weed. It's good that at least two of the bunch I collected will most likely be useful. I put them in my inventory again and I remember something at this moment.
"Sophia, why is it that when I put my spear in the inventory it's not duplicated? Is the duplication restricted in some way?"(Protagonist)
I ask, curious about how the duplication in my inventory works.
"Yes, the duplication function of your inventory only applies to raw materials, while there's also an auto-looting function that works together with the duplication function, so every corpse can only be looted once with this function, and since you have a high luck value all the 'drop items' that would be available are automatically recognized, then the duplicate function makes duplicates inside the inventory."(Sophia)
"So, basically the auto-loot function identifies what's the loot in the corpse, and the duplication function duplicates whatever the auto-loot considers loot."(Protagonist)
I say to make sure I understand what she meant.
"Precisely."(Sophia)
"That's somewhat sad because it means it's not as much of a cheat as I thought it was, never the less it's still extremely useful."(Protagonist)
Just as I'm lamenting the fact my inventory can't just duplicate everything ...
"..... <Water magic: water ball-x2>!"
A ball of water the size of a soccer ball came my way as I could hear a female voice name the spell, I couldn't react in time and was hit by the spell. The ball of water pushed me and throw me towards a tree, that I hit pretty hard.
(It seems she's awake... Damn, she's pretty strong.)
I think as I look at the 4/10 HP in my status.

"ahhhh-hhaaaaaa!"
I yawn as I wake up and rub my eyes, it's been a while since I slept this badly. I get up from laying on a bunch of leaves and sit on them, while I stretch my arm, then I realize.
(Wait a second, WHERE AM I?!)(blond girl)
I look around and don't have a grasp of where I am or how I got here!
(Was I kidnapped?!)(blond girl)
I think with my face slowly becoming more and more uncomfortable and panicky.
*huff, huff, huff*
I start to breathe heavily as I try to calm myself down so that I can understand what's going on
(Oh right! I was using my <Water cell> to walk around and then I tripped and it started rolling none stop... Then I meet someone and asked for directions, and I probably fainted at that moment.)(blond girl)
As I slightly calm down I slowly remember what happened and make my soft easy heart stable.
(So, I guess now I should look for who helped me and thank them.)(blond girl)
As I think of doing so I turn around and see a wild goblin looking at some herbs with a plain face of absence, as if he wasn't here right now.
(Damn it! Did I get captured by wild goblins?! F*ck! I'm lucky I'm still alive or untouched considering how vicious these creatures are, I have to get rid of this one and leave before more of them show up.)(blond girl)
I make my decision immediately as a fine lady such as myself can't lose to these barbaric monsters!
I then start chanting to cast the water spell <Water ball-x2> which is as the name says two times stronger than the normal one. As a talented caster can use shorted-chants also known as simple or common chants instead of having to do the full chant for spells of this low grade.
{************************************ <Water magic: water ball-x2>!!}
As soon as I cast the spell, a ball of water instantly forms in front of my hands as I aim at the wild goblin, and launch the ball that goes at a considerably high-speed towards its target.
*Splash* *Boom*
The ball of water hits the wild goblin and before it could understand what was going on, it was sent flying towards a tree nearby, even though it's very clearly alive, as long as it's knocked out I'll be fine.
(I wish I could use a stronger spell, but that would've taken too long so I hope this is enough)(blond girl)
I started moving to run away from this place as fast as I could, but then...
"Was that really necessary?! Are you this aggressive with everyone that saves your life?!"(Wild goblin(?))
As I ran I heard the wild goblin speak with proper Tenzuken, the national language of the Tenkuzu Kingdom. Even I don't speak Tenzuken this well.
I stop and turn around only to see the goblin standing still, and looking at me as if waiting for an answer.
(It looks like I made a mistake and ended up attacking an intellectual goblin instead... I probably should apologize.)(blond girl)
I start reflecting and considering an apology. The embarrassment upon realizing my mistake takes over and I start blushing before I know it.
____________________________________________
(Damn it! I forgot to consider that she might mistake me for a wild one, this really hurt. Sophia, is there a way I can convince her I'm not a wild one? I can't let her go without paying me for all the trouble I'm going through.)(Protagonist)
I complain as I realize my mistake and then ask Sophia for help on solving this before it's too late.
"Wild goblins can't speak any languages besides goblin language."(Sophia)
(Great! Then let's solve this.)
I think as I get up and move forward a few steps and while the blond girl is already running away, I shout.
"Was that really necessary?! Are you this aggressive with everyone that saves your life?!"(Protagonist)
I say very obviously dissatisfied with a disappointed tone and an expression to back up that same feeling. Then I notice something, the words coming out of my mouth are weird and something I never heard before, but I can perfectly understand them, and it's also the first time I actually pay attention to the effects of <Universal language>, since the other times I was too worried with my own survival to care.
(It's very amazing to be able to speak any language like that, it's a truly amazing skill.)(Protagonist)
While I was distracted thinking of my <Universal language> skill, the blond girl had already stopped running and was now looking at me, as if analyzing.
"I'm truly sorry sir!!"(blond girl)
Before I could say anything else she started apologizing and bowing to me with a very reddish face as she seems to be blushing from what I believe to be embarrassment.
(That was easier than expected.)
"No problem, now pay up. Not only did I protect you and carry you here, but I also almost died because of you!"(Protagonist)
I say very calmly and wait to see what she'll say in response.
"Hum.... Huh.... Urg.... I would love to.... But I'm.... I'm....."(blond girl)
She is spluttering and I don't like where this is going.
(You're what?! It better not be some bad excuse to not pay!)(Protagonist)
"I'M BROKE!"(blond girl)
She shouted and I'm hearing loud and clear.
(F*ck my luck! What's the use of my luck stat then?!)
I cursed in my mind as I felt betrayed by my so-called luck.
Today is a day I'll remember, as the day where I rescued a broke girl.
(This is why I'll never become a hero!)
