Chapter 4
Mercury Falls <4>
A few hours have passed since I received that letter from Cleo, the 27th ruler of the Sun. Earth, Saturn, and I all stare at that tiny piece of paper for a very long time.
“What should we do?” Saturn asks.
Earth sits across from us, hands folded in front of her face, which carries a serious expression.
“This is bad.” She responds.
Of course it is, don’t state the obvious. I silently stare at her. 50 pure souls, huh... What type? Cleo—I mean, the Sun, didn’t specify. I might have to collect 50 souls of pure babies if this misunderstanding continues. And animals.. Do they even have souls?! Earth once told me most animals, especially cats, didn’t carry them.
In the middle of thinking, the one who finally interrupted my train of thought had the name of Earth herself.
“So.. How many chidlers do we have to mur--” Saturn slapped Earth across the cheek.
“I think you mean—How many kittens--” Cue the me who then pulls on her skirt, making Saturn yelp.
“Apparently we are all on the same page, so I’ll chip in my thoughts as well.” Earth and Saturn perked up. “What if... Cle—the Sun—meant for us to slay pure souls, not just as in purely ‘good,’ but purely ‘evil?’”
The two turned towards each other. ‘When did she get so smart?!’ ‘I don’t know!’ I heard them whisper..
Hey!
I am not that stupid!!
Take that back!!!
Thinking back, long before, four years ago, everyone knew me as a clumsy, mischievous person who took after my older brother, Hermes. What good days. I did all that just to make him notice me, but a long slumber would erase all memories of myself, after all. I don’t exist to him, so why should I force myself to act as so anymore? From now on, I’ll live as I wish.
50 purely evil souls, huh?
And from high above, the Sun looked down with a haunted expression on his face, thinking back at the typo he made just a few hours ago.
“If it’s her, she’ll definitely figure it out... right?!”

Author’s Notes:
--Cleo, the 27th Sun, has officially taken over the channel.--
Hello, everyone. I am Cleo Sol. I apolo--
Return my channel!!!
Unfortunately, dear Author, I refuse. I must publicly apologize for the wrongdoings of my actions.
Hello, everyone. As I said before, I am Cleo Sol, the 27th Sun.
He says, with hair of the finest gold reaching to his knees, and sky-blue eyes of the richest vastness of the ocean covered by a delicate white cloth, wearing the softest pale-aqua silk lined with extravagant colors of cowbell blue. A single wing protrudes from the back of his right, it's feathers of those belonging to angels. Spikes from a crown of roses encircled the back of his head.
I am here to apologize on behalf of myself.
He echoes, carrying a genuine expression of sorrow and grief.
My lack of attention has caused a grave misunderstanding for the main characters of [Skymission], quite possibly prohibiting the growth of our dearest protagonist. Perhaps dear Author will allow me to return justice to Mercury and her Merry Gang of Friends?
He ponders, taking into consideration the feelings of each and every individual, just like the kind star he is. Will the ‘dearest Author’ agree to this change? Find out next time on--
Hey! You can’t do that!
He exclaims, running forth towards nothing, hoping the omniscient author will heed his calls. 'Perhaps, if you end this story properly, I may grant you another chance at life.' He hears, in the midst of the chaos.
Oh, ok... Well then, thank you for reading, may I see you again in the glimmering light of tomorrow!
And thus, he never got a chance to change the story again.
Wait.. What? You tricked me?! I sw--
