I was plopped back into the living area of the building that we had been in before. The sun was rising now as Posiedon came waltzing his ass in. I marched over to him and punched him in the face and felt the satisfying crack of his nose braking while I did so. This son of a bitch, it was no wonder that Coyrah hated him. He looked at me shocked at first then understanding came into his eyes.
“Alright I did deserve that. Though you were not supposed to be there when Balius came for Coyrah. Not that I would have really let him have her. My son was a very convincing con artist but Coyrah always saw through him. Not that she should have had a problem dispatching him. Or any of his brothers that he took with him to confront her. But this was needed to make her see that she is cared for.” He said, still holding his nose while it bled. I wanted to punch him again. What was he thinking this was not helping anyone. I would be lucky if Coyrah made it out of there alive. And if she did what condition would she be in when I got back to her side? These thoughts plaged me as the sun rose over this city. Artemis showed herself again and just as she did I lost all my ability to breathe. Adian was at my side in a moment.
“Addison? What is it ? What is wrong? What is going on with him?” Adain asked. The first had been said to me but the last question was directed at the two Gods in the room. Artemis moved to stand in front of me and she punched me in the gut harder than I had ever been hit. Adain was about to draw his weapon on her but I put a hand on his shoulder finally able to breathe at least somewhat. Then Artemis turned on Posiedon and punched him even harder.
“You stupid SON OF A BITCH! This is once more your fault. I just deliver papers to Richerd and Nick that give them full ownership of the bar and all but one of her buildings. She said that you have killed her. So congratulations on screwing the whole of the living world. Coyrah’s light is lost to her. There is no getting her back now and that is all your doing. You should leave NOW! My Father is waiting with your punishment. The rest of us have to find a way to clean up this fucking mess you have made. You just couldn’t leave well enough alone could you now look what you have wront onto humanity and us. Coyrah’s darkness has control and it knows no mercy and it never has. And all for what? Your FUNKING PRIDE?” Artimis said. As he brother Apollo and Hermise came and took Posiedon away from us. I was shocked by all this and depressed too. How could Coyrah be gone? Damn it I had just found her and now she was lost to me forever? No I couldn’t and I wouldn’t accept that there had to be a way to save her. To bring her back from that place. I knew she didn’t want to be there but that the pain of so many betrals had done this to her.
“There has to be away to save her.” I said breathlessly to Artemis and she smiled at me.
“There is but it will not be easy and only you can reach her now. We have to move quickly and with purpose. The reason you could not breath just now is because you were feeling Coyrah losing her light but it has another place it can go it didn’t just go out. It went to you. Her light now lives within you Addison. Take care not to get too far away from her while we do this. I can put her to sleep and within the dream world you will have more time than you would otherwise but this is not something that can be done here. I hate to say it but Atlantis is the only place that has the structure to contain her. She will fight you. Her darkness will not want to give up so easily. But I have learned much of you in the last few days and I believe you can do this. Now for the rest of you. She can cause him to bleed in the living world but she cannot kill him. No matter how hard she tries. Fate has spoken and in this his life is safe. That sadly is all they would say on that topic. I know much but it makes no scent until it needs to. Fate always speaks in riddles which is a bitch.” Artemis said and everyone nodded. So it looked like we would be going home. Though it wasn’t how I had hoped to be returning. I looked over to Adian. I knew just the place that Artemis had spoken of and so did he.
“Send word to Mother and Father have them ready that chamber. I don’t like the idea of putting her in there but it is the only place that can hold this much darkness. I will go with Artemis and collect Coyrah and meet you all at the portal home.” I said. Adian looked at me and then to the rest of the men.
“Marius, Galith you two stay with the King. The rest of you come with me. I will myself go back ahead of you and help to make everything ready for our soon to be queen’s return to her true self. The rest will wait for the King at the portal to keep them safe no matter what.” Adian said. He was once more the Captain of my guard and he was not taking any chances. I still wished sometimes that he would take the throne in my stead but we both knew that was not going to happen anytime soon. He could do it just as well as I could but he would never take it unless I was gone from this world. I put my hand on his shoulder again and brought his attention back to me.
“Adian while I am trying to get Coyrah back you will have to take care of the duties of the crown. I know you don’t like it but you must do this. Father will help you no doubt but it will have to be you.” I said. He looked like he had just put something sour in his mouth but he nodded his understanding. I smiled. I knew better than anyone how much he hated this part. I nodded too, then we were moving.
Artemis took us out and walked us down the street not even a block away then turned and I could feel we were close to where Coyrah was. She was in a building that was not far away. Artemis walked us right up to the building and through the door then up the stairs. We entered only after Atremis had given us the all clear. As I entered and saw Coyrah laying on her bed. She looked so peaceful and it was almost hard to believe that this little woman could end everything in the living world if I failed in getting her back. I couldn’t fail not just for the people of this world but for myself either. I would not be able to keep going without her. I knew that. I had to get her back. I walked to her and brushed her hair away from her face as I looked down at her sleeping. She was still breathtaking. I looked to Artemis and she nodded. I then turned back to Coyrah and lifted her and the sheet that covered her up into my arms. I stood then we were moving again.
