“Oh, praise Tharus, you are all well.” Rubia exulted and threw her arms around Sora as Kadrek set the blonde girl down.
“Arden! Yuma! Maedra.” Hari called out as he came running to them. “And is that... that’s Terek!”
“Yes, it is he.” Arden nodded. “We found him down in the well near the Armoury.”
“And what... who is that?” Hari was staring at the Alvaine as he stopped dead in his tracks.
“She is Dainzel... of the Alvaine.” Arden replied. “We owe her much, as we do to Kadrek.”
“She is really... an Alvaine?” Rubia sounded breathless as she put her arms around Maedra.
“ Dainzel, this is Hari and this is Rubia.” Arden waved at the two. “Survivors like the rest of us, and the six little children there.”
Maedra’s sadness ebbed somewhat when she saw the six younger children again. She was instantly reminded of her time taking care of them in the Dark Forest and was glad that it was over. But was it really?
worst was yet to come, she was sure and she sensed that everyone there felt the
same way. Especially the Alvaine.
Dainzel didn’t quite seem to live up to the Alvaine legend of being heartless and cruel creatures.
even though she had known of the scout and healer for so short a time,
Maedra could instinctively feel that Dainzel was somehow special and maybe even sent by providence to their aid.
