okay, i'm ready, every year my younger brother prepares some deep complicated plan to trick me on April first, but not this year, i'm ready, what ever he says, whatever he does, i know it's a lie, i was going to prank him back, but I’m too lazy for that, so as soon as i woke up, i ignored the fake spider on my table, and the fake blood on the floor, i know what ketchup looks like, 

i went to school and met my friends, our teacher said we failed the exam with the most serious face, then with the same face said it was a joke, god help me, as soon as school was over, i got a call from my boyfriend asking if I’m okay, why wouldn’t i be? he was talking weird, i just hang up, 

back home, my parents were still at work, so it was me and the brat again, come to think of it, he hadn't shown up at all today, is he choosing horror this year ? oh whatever, he did this two years ago, hid for the hall day until i called the cops, made me look real stupid when he just came down the stairs, anyways, i made myself a snack and went to my room, after doing some homework, i looked at the time, ten; okay, two more hours, if he doesn't show up I’ll look for him, he's scared of being alone anyways, so he can't stay hidden so late

Midnight, okay, that's weird, i got up, turned on all the lights and called out for him, no response, he's gonna make me look a lot huh ? i sat down in the living room : 

-I’m not paying your stupid games mike, you promised not to do this anymore remember , did he ?, because last time you took it too far , really ?, and  ...  and you ... you

 i got up, last time, something bad happened last time why can't i remember ? 

-mike !

 i ran all around the house :

-mike !! 

just then i heard mom and dad open the front door, i ran towards them :

-mom dad i can't find mike ! 

they looked at me weirdly, then looked down, mom huged me as dad patted me on the back, mom started talking calmly: 

-it's okay zoe, it's okay 

i tried to get off her :

-what do you mean ? we have to find him ! 

dad squeezed my shoulders, and said sadly : 

-it's okay zoe, it's been a year already, remember, last year ? he took it too far, he,  ...he's dead, remember ? 

he's eyes were watering, mom was crying, dead ? no, no he's ... he's  

oh, last year, he tried to climb that tree, the long one behind the house, and, fail, oh, oh right, i'm the one who found him, i thought he was hiding to scare me, and :

-it's not your fault, dad said, it's not, sweety, it's not 

mike, i'm sorry, i broke down crying, my parents hugged, and led me to my room, i just sat on my bed, after a while i was laying down, as sleep took over me, i thought 

those fake spiders, and fake blood, who put them there ?  ...
