“IT’S NEGATIVE!” Jay exclaimed. “See, I told you. NO WAY. Pregnant, tsch. You’re so ridiculous”
“Thank God!” I sighed. Jay held his stomach.
“But that still doesn’t explain why I feel so sick.” Jay muttered.
“Ah, right… maybe we should visit the doctor.” I suggested.
“Good idea! Let’s gooo-” Jay covered his mouth again and ran to the toilet. I sighed. I called the hospital and made an appointment at 3pm.
We were in the car. Jay was holding a plastic bag. He had thrown up already two times since we started driving.
“When are we going to reach the hospital?” Jay asked.
“We're almost there- just be patient, okay?” I replied. Jay threw up again.
“Oh my gosh! STOP THROWING UP!” I screamed. Jay looked at me.
“I'm sorry, I can’t help it…" he pouted.
We drove for another 5 minutes until we reached the hospital.
“Come on, in we go,” I smiled and looked at Jay. My smile quickly turned upside down. Jay was throwing up yet again.
"Seriously?” I grunted.
“Sorry…” he apologised.
“Let’s just go in,” I muttered and we walked inside.
“Good afternoon,” the doctor greeted as we sat down.
“Hello, doctor.” I said.
“So which one of you is here for the appointment.” He smiled.
“Ah him- I mean her.” I replied.
“And what seems to be the problem?” The doctor asked.
“Well-” I started but Jay threw up again.
“That’s what keeps happening.” I said.
“Ah… I see. So how long has this been happening for?” He asked.
“It just started this morning,” I replied.
“How many times has she thrown up,”
I looked at Jay, who was counting on his fingers.
“I think around 11 times.” Jay chuckled. The doctor looked at Jay, surprised.
“11 times?” The doctor repeated. Jay nodded.
“It is possible that you’ve had food poisoning. What have you eaten recently?" He asked.
“What? Well, I’ve only eaten… skittles.” Jay grinned.
“Ahh the sweets... You haven’t eaten anything that you're allergic to, right?”
“Um..” Jay glanced at me and I shook my head. “No.”
“Have you gone overseas recently?”
“No…”
“Have you recently eaten anything new?”
“No…”
“Any raw food?”
“No…”
“It may be that someone purposely poisoned you.”
“What?"
“I’ll take a look at your abdomen,” The doctor said, putting on his stethoscope. He got up and walked towards Jay. He put the stethoscope on Jay’s stomach and started pressing on it.
“Does this hurt?” The doctor asked. Jay scrunched up his face.
“Just a bit…” Jay responded.
“I’ll check your BP then.”
Jay nodded.
The doctor took his BP and confirmed that Jay had food poisoning. He gave us some medicine for the vomiting to stop.
“This is terrible! Who the hell could have poisoned me.” Jay exclaimed when we were outside. He looked at me as I was thinning really hard about the ‘Joline’ dream. “Minaaa, whatcha thinking about?”
“What oh nothing… actually. When I resurrected from the dead, I had a… dream.” I replied.
“A dream?”
“They were talking about the perfume Perseus, saying ‘ You have to spray it on the body you want to revive. If you spray it once on the body, the person will be revived but their condition will be so bad that they’ll most likely die again. Spray it twice, they will be revived but however they die, their injuries will still show, they won’t even live long because one hard hit on the injury they’ll die immediately. If they had died from a disease, that disease will never go away unless they’re cured. So they’ll die from the disease. If you spray it 3 times, the person will have no diseases but their gender and looks change.’ I sprayed it 3 times, directly on your face even.” I explained.
“Ahh, so that’s why it smelt so much like perfume when I woke up.” Jay said.
“What?” I asked.
“Well, when I woke up the whole room smelled like perfume. The smell was terrible. I almost died again.”
“That’s not the issue, they clearly said you’ll be perfectly fine in the morning but now you have food poisoning. And there’s no way you got it, Kayla is the only who could have gotten it. Right?”
“Now I’m confused, I am Kayla..." Jay replied.
“Ugh, no! I mean the real Kayla. Kayla who died!" I said.
"You're thinking too deeply about it. They said disease but food poisoning is not a disease." Jay reasoned. I looked at him.
"You're right. But it’s weird…”
“Everything’s weird to you.”
“Why would Kayla be poisoned?”
“Maybe someone held a grudge against her. We could ask Jaclyn tomorrow. First, can we get a new phone for me?” Jay smiled and I groaned.
