“Dada?”
“Yes, daughter?”
“Is it true that I’d be wearing a purple gown on my wedding day?”
Shocked, he asked, “Who told you that?”
“Nanny and everyone else.”
“All women in our family wore the traditional purple gown on their wedding; purple is our kingdom’s color so when your time comes to marry, you’ll wear it, too.”
“But by then, I wouldn’t be a princess anymore. I’ll be taking my husband’s title and it’s not like I’d marry Brother Lothario or something so can I not wear purple at my wedding?”
“Isn’t it too early to talk about your wedding?”
“But Ash said that you’ll let me do whatever I want, all I need is to tell you what I want and you’ll approve of it.”
“That brat told you that?” I nodded. “It’s late, you should rest.”
“If I may also be excused, Father.” One of my brothers said. “Mayari dwerva, Father. May the benison of Kismet be upon you.”
Brother Azraq held out his hands which I gladly took. Together with Brother Lothario, we walked out of Father’s study and out of the gates where Ash and Captain Osa were waiting.
“Muda Lothario. Muda Azraq. Dayang-dayang Iris.” The two greeted.
“Ash!” I jumped into his embrace. “Did you wait long?”
He shook his head no while lifting me up to carry me in his arms. “Did you enjoy your dinner?”
“Yes! I even helped my brothers solve an issue, although they haven’t done it yet I gave my idea and they said that they would try it!” I happily recounted what happened during dinner.
“So, you’re the one who puts things inside my sister’s head.” Brother Lothario, whom I forgot about, said.
“He only told me that because I threw a tantrum earlier. The dress they were trying to put me into was hideous! People here have no fashion sense at all!” I defended Ash.
Brother Lothario walked past us and into my carriage, with Brother Azraq behind him. Ash looked at me and I just shrugged. Helpless, Ash followed suit, still holding me in his arms. He sat me down on the seat across from my brothers before sitting next to me near the carriage’s door.
“I had no idea that you two are close.” Brother Azraq commented as soon as the carriage started moving.
“I’ve been with Dayang-dayang since she was an infant so I guess we grew close as time passed by.”
“Yeah, sooo close.”
Few minutes passed and I felt myself nod off. Ash took notice of it and scooted over to give me more room, then he guided my head to his lap and put my feet on the seat to make me more comfortable. I looked for his hand and put it on the top of my head, silently telling him to stroke my hair gently. I rubbed my eyes and let myself catch some Zs but the carriage ride wasn't comfortable. So, I sat up and climbed on Ash’s embrace and leaned my head on the crevice of his neck.
