Tyura peered at himself in a puddle of muddy water. Instead of their usual gray color, his eyes were large and dark. They were so dark that the sunlight didn't reflect off them. He was nearly bald with his short cropped black hair. Which was completely different from his usual shoulder length white hair. His skin was extremely pale. It was as if he had no blood in his body. On top of that, with his sunken in cheeks and skinny body, he looked like a walking corpse. As for his age... eight? His body was so small, he couldn't really tell.
Tyura stood up stiffly. His damp clothes stuck uncomfortably to his body. It rained almost for the whole day and only stopped when the sun had began to set. And now...
Tyura looked down at the Wolf lion fur he had clutched in his hand. It was the only thing he had left from his home. It was heavy and wet but he didn't want to let it go, so he dragged it behind him.
As for his home, he had already left it behind.
Tyura had stayed in the clearing while it rained, propping a wooden board against a tree and taking shelter under it. Later he discovered that the berry bushes that had been in the area had washed away.
Now after walking for two hours he could see an obvious change.
It was as if the forest had suddenly came alive. All around he could hear the sound of animals. The birds chirped nonstop and there was always some animal darting in and out from the bushes. They were fast but some of them he could see like rabbit or even deer. But even more surprising was that some of the animals he couldn't name. They were new to him!
Tyura had thought about it. Why hadn't he seen these animals before? Why had things been so... quiet back at the clearing?
It must have been a barrier. That cracking sound that came from the sky must have been the barrier coming down. And then the rain came, destroying the remains Tyura's house and forced him out of the clearing. But why had the barrier been put up in the first place? Was it to keep him in that area?
Tyura suddenly had a thought. In his world the King would have a festival every year to honor the gods and of course, the Great Tyura, the one blessed by the gods. One of the main events and the one Tyura most anticipated was the stage plays. The plays were basically the same every year, all depicting a hero defeating a great evil and saving the kingdom, but the troupe was very talented. They managed to make every play entertaining.
Tyura recalled how after and act would end, the curtain would fall, blocking the stage from the rest of the world. There would be no sound behind the curtain. The onlookers in the crowd couldnt tell that behind the curtain, props and costumes were being swapped out for different ones.
The curtain would rise to reveal a new scene. The next act would begin.
Tyura glared up at the sky.
"What are you planning?"
"RAAARW!"
As if on cue, a loud roar rang out from the trees. For a split second afterwards there was no sound and then the animals became even louder than before. The animals wasn't a bear or a wolf. It sounded fiercer...and bigger.
The corners of Tyura's mouth lifted but he felt no humor in the situation.
