“Okay, my job finished until up here, go inside”, said Ruben
We entered a huge room with a glass dome as rooftop so the room shines brightly in here, the are hundreds of staged seating arrangement and a podium on the opposite side.
I scanned around the room to find the best seating in the room which is the middle. Then suddenly the double door from the right side of the room opened up and a lot of girls pouring out from the door.
“Ah, I think those are the girls from our portal”
Then I see a girl I recognized, she looks younger though, it might not be her but then she waved at my direction.
She came closer to me, “I tought I lost you, where is the big guy?”
“Liutenant Catalina?”, I asked
“Just call me Cat, do I look different? Right right?”
“Yes, I wasnt sure if that was you, and the boobs looks bigg...”, before I finished my sentence a full fist just stomped my face and sent me flying across the room until I hit the side wall 10 metres away.
“WHY DO YOU HAVE TO COMMENT ON THAT”, she shouted embarrassedly
“Thats a nice punch you got there, C rank Wind Magic probably”, a female voice echoing all over the room. All of us can hear it clearly as if someone talking in our ears using a headset.
“Dont get startled, it is my wind magic, it enables me to send my voice through out the air”
“Please take a seat, we will begin shortly”, the woman then making a finger gesture and suddenly soft wind blows and unfolded the cloth screen behind the woman.
Because of that punch, I only managed to get the side seat and far at the back.
“All right, everyone please be quiet” the woman voice echoing again
The woman is not too tall and wearing a green garb just like a sorcerer in video games. Her hair is neck long and golden colored. Her blue eye is very sharp and mesmerizing.
“First, I would like to welcome you to our city”
“Welcome to City States of Sursha”
“And I am the Leader of Sursha, my name is Saoirse”
“Before we begin, there are some rules you need to know about this world”
She instructed an attendant who then cast a light magic on to the cloth “Ray Light”
Then writings appeared on the cloth screen
You will never aged in this world BUT you can DIE
Whatever language you speak, others will automatically understand
This world occupants, all came from Earth
Magic exist in this world
You cannot go back to Earth
This world name is ESOS
There are monsters in this world
Technology doesnt work in this world
You cannot have children
I immediately stood up when I read number 6, my heart thumping fast. It is the name of imaginary world that I used to tell story to my mom when I was a kid.
No, it cannot be. Maybe its just a coincidence.
“You at the back with black hair, why you stand up? This is not Question time”
“Whats your name?”
“My name is Joe Darwin and I was a student on Earth”, I lied again, though I like to use this name, because this name is the name of the kid that used to make fun of me and my weak body.
I can feel sharp tingling coming from the middle seat looking at me
“Allright Mr. Darwin, take a seat, wait for your turn”
“Any questions?”
a lot of hands suddenly raised up
“Please if you have the same questions, lower your hands”, she pointed to a girl at the front
“What happened to our belongings, its just gone when we arrive”
“We all arrive here empty handed, nothing from earth exist here” she said then she pointed to another person in the middle
“What does it mean by number 1, so if somebody kills you, you still dies?”, lots of the hands going down
“Yes, that is correct, you dont eat, you die, somebody kills you, you die, you lost a limb, not gonna regenerate”, and then she pointed to me
“Mr. Darwin? Any question?”
“Erhm, how old are you, are you single?”, sudden silent fill the room
“I am around 500 years old and stop counting, I came here through the portal when I reached American continent, and yes im single but several lifetime too old for you”, the whole room laugh, then she pointed someone at the back
“What do you mean we cannot have children?”
“This, I cannot explain, everyone have tried at some point but the only way to get new people is from the portals”, she explained, there is a lot of murmur in the room
I can hear a few inappropriate jokes among the recruits
“All right lets move on, the other points are self explanatory”
“Now about the portals”
“There are 7 portals and 7 kingdoms exists in this world, and 6 of them are here in this City, 1 more is with Niflheim Empire”
“They used to be spread all over the continent but the 6 kingdoms decided to move them here, simply because this city is in the middle of the continent, and we are the merchant hubs thats connecting all kingdoms”
“I have to say, you are lucky ended up here in Sursha, I dont know how they handle new recruits in the other kingdoms”
“But be warned, all 6 kingdoms are neutral except for the Niflheim Empire”, she paused and sighed a little bit
“Niflheim is at war with everyone”
“I will put the world map on screen so everyone can see”, she instructed the attendant
Everyone in awe looking at the world map, its a new thing for them and for me as well.
“We are here, City States of Sursha” she pointed in the middle of continent
There is a gigantic Tree in the middle of the city and the city surrounded the Gigantic Tree divided into 6 district equally
“The Giant Tree in the middle is called the Yggdrasil”
I raised my hand and ask “Whats that giant skeletons all over the continent?”
“That is the gods of this world, They already dead when we arrived in this world but there still a few exist from two thousand years ago, the first arrival”
“They witnessed a great battle between the seven gods and a demon lord and his servants”
“The gods died and the demon lord defeated but we dont know how accurate that statement”
“If you see the map, all the kingdoms are all within the proximity of the dead gods”
“Why? Because they still release unlimited amount of mana all these times and we used that mana to refine our magic to higher levels”
“Oh wow, look at the time, I think thats enough for today, next we will provide you with clothing and job arrangement”
“Please kindly follow the attendant”
We willingly followed the attendant out of the room

Meanwhile at the same time in Niflheim Empire
“Where are the Liutenant and Marad?”, Harold shivering in cold
Then there Screams echoing from the other room and then loud cheers
“You, big guy! You are next!” shouted the guard
The guard shoved Harold to hurry up but he is simply too big and the guard just whipped on Harold's sides
“Move up, Faster!”
Harold goes through the gates and he ended up in what look like an old Roman Colloseum for gladiators
“HERE COMES A NEW RECRUIT, OH WOW, HE IS BIG, PLACE YOUR BET”
“CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON, RECRUIT!”, the announcer saying it loudly without using anything
Harold looked at the side of the gates, he found a weapon rack. All his life he practive with guns and unarmed combat, he also specialized in Knife combat in Military but there is no Knife in the weapon rack.
He took a sword and a shield
“WE DONT NEED WEAK RECRUITS HERE, IF YOU WON, YOU WILL BE RECOGNIZED AS NIFLHEIM's CITIZEN”
“THIS IS IT, STOP ALL BETS, UNLEASH THE BEAST!”
The other gates on the opposite side opened
Then Harold sees something he never sees before in his entire life
“A WEREWOLF! YOU GOT THE JACKPOT BIG GUY, ITS A C RANK BEAST”
The werewolf howling, the claws are 10 fingers long on each hand
The beast suddenly on four feet and dash towards Harold with high speed
Harold shooked with how fast the beast approach him, He panicked at raised up his shield
*Clang, Clang, Clang
Harold managed to stay on his feet after a barrage of claws, his metal shield all scratched up and only good for a few more hits.
Harold then start his attacks, he figured he will not be sitting ducks and received more barrage of claws
He swings left and right, the beast dodged it and duck before it slash it claws toward Howard's stomach
Howards groans in pain “Urgh, this cannot be the end”
“OH HE IS DOWN LADIES AND GENTLEMAN”
The beast not wasting its time and turn around and dash towards Harold again.
Harold throw his shield to the beast and the beast not anticipated that move so the werewolf just clawed it to the side but Harold jumped just behind the shield, it is a blind spot, the beast cannot see harold while deflecting the shield.
“Die Beast!”, Harold stab his sword to the beast's chest
The sword pierced through the werewolf's body but the beast still alive and kick Harold few metres away
Harold in pain with an open stomach, he almost lost conciousness while the beast slowly walking towards Harold, limping
The beast just 3 steps away from Harold, Harold kneeling on the floor
“I.. I didnt come to this world to DIE!”, Harold slams both hand on the ground
3 spikes of stone emerged on the floor and pierced the werewolf from 3 directions
“HE WON! EARTH SPIKES! LOOK AT THOSE SIZE OF THE SPIKES! ITS NOT ORDINARY SPIKES! CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE THE 3rd Winner for Today!”
Harold dont know what happened but he smiles while lying flat on the ground, he get to live for another day.
