They arrived at the prim and proper capitol, where they were greeted by huge swarms of people waiting to meet them. As they were escorted to their rooms, they looked around in awe at the fancy furniture and decor around the capitol. They had to get some rest because the next few days would be training. As restless as they were, they somehow didn't feel tired. They tossed and turned until they fell asleep, dreading the days ahead. The next day, Skyla and Zack groggily went down to breakfast.

“Come now children stop picking at your food! You will have to be BIG energized for your training session today!” Effie piped up.

“Don’t remind us.” Zack grumbled.

“Do NOT act like that Mr Zack, we are all about optimism here in the capital.” 

“Whatever.” Zack and Skyla said in unison.

Effie looked at them sourly, but then her expression softened.

“Anyways, you will be meeting your mentor soon. His name is..”

“Haymitch.”

A stubby man with long dirty blonde hair stumbled into the room. With one look at him, you could tell that he was drunk.

“Welcome Haymitch. Have a seat.” Effie tried to say politely but couldn't keep herself from shooting disapproving glances at Haymitch as he sat down.

“These are the tributes right? Haymitch asked confusingly.

“Yes these are your tributes. Not to be cheeky, but I believe that you have been notified about them. Have you forgotten again?”

Haymitch ignored Effie as he poured himself a thick glass of alcohol. Skyla took one whiff and started to feel nauseous. To break the awkward silence that had followed their mentour into the room Zack said "So, how do we find food and water?"

He didn't expect anyone to respond but Haymitch did.

        "The usual. Leave the bloodbath, hunt, get to high ground blah blah. It would be helpful info if you would still be alive." Haymitch replied while chugging down his glass of alcohol .

        "But what if we are still alive?" Skyla retorted. "I mean, you never know."

        "That's nice of you to think positive sweetie but as I said before, there is no way you and shorty over here will be able to survive.

        "I'm taller than you." Zack grumbled.

        "Anywho, Haymitch I believe that Skyla and Zack should be leaving any moment for training." Effie announced.

        "Ok." Skyla and Zack replied glumly.
