Finding out Enzo was awake had me frozen in place. When I had walked into the room to switch off with Natalie, I discovered both of them hugging each other while watching Lilo and Stitch. The bond between them was obvious. It made me yearn for a bond like that with Enzo. I took one last look at them before leaving and smiling.

Despite how happy I was that Natalie is finally getting to reestablish her bond with Enzo. I was also jealous. Enzo looked so content and comfortable with Natalie. Nate once told me that Natalie basically raised Enzo. That the bond between them was more than just a brother-sister bond. That was the reason that she was the most desperate of them all to find Enzo. I still remember the exact words she gave me when I asked her and Nate to join the pack and become my Betas...

"Do you think that I am just gonna up and join your pack because you offered?" Natalie's face was bright red as she bursted with anger. "You stupid self-confident arrogant prick of a son of a b*tch. What part of We are busy and we don't have time for this do you not get!?"

I was a little stupid then and very intent on making them my Betas. Though through all that those words still somehow hurt my ego. I guess it was also those words that helped me come to an agreement with them. I don't know where I would be without them especially Natalie. Even though she is a Beta. Natalie took on the role of Luna. She definitely is one of a kind.

As I walked to the study my mind drifted. Thought and memories pulled forth. With a sigh, I entered my study and sat in my chair. Staring out the window, I watched as the children played basketball.

POV- Nathan (Nate)

The stress and worry of have Enzo sick disappeared. Enzo was fine. Knowing this made me feel like I could breathe again. My brother is a good kid. He should have never gone what had gone through. When father did what he did I should have stopped him. My fears had the best of me then. I can't help but wonder what would have happened if I tried to stop. If mom tried to stop him.

When we found Enzo in his condition I could help but be angry. Angry at the people who put him through hell and angry at myself for not getting to him sooner. It hurts seeing this once happy and social boy be so afraid of the people around him. He doesn't even talk anymore.

I looked at Lycos staring out the window in his office. It made my blood boil thinking about how possessive he is over Enzo. I don't even think he realizes how possessive he is over him. Enzo is my brother but yet I can't even spend time with him unless Natalie or Lycos is there.

Natalie and Enzo are my family. I would do anything to protect them.

Natalie told me if I ever want anything or something is bothering me I should talk about it. The problem is I am not good at expressing myself. I stared hard at the back of Lycos's head. "Your staring..., Do you need something?" Oh well, I guess it's time to suck it up and tell him. "Lycos I need you to back off." I looked at him and watched as his eye twitched. "Back off from what Nate?" Remain calm. Remain calm. "Enzo." "WHAT!?" "He is my brother I deserve to spend time with him without having somebody up my butt about it!" Both of us were angry. After a few moments of silence, we both calmed down. "FINE, fine just no closed doors."

I could tell this decision bothered him but he understood that it didn't feel good not being trusted. We took one look at each other before I left to continue on with my duties.

POV- Enzo

The lady in white's word continues to echo around my head. I tried watching this cute movie with my sister but something is telling me there is more to those words than what they are saying. Natalie was asleep, she was obviously exhausted and needed sleep. Slowly and quietly I got off the bed and left the room. The pack members in the hall stopped and stared at me as I walked past. The Fuck people?!? Can someone go down to the kitchen without being stared at? I glared at them as they stared. Fuck ya'll I'm hungry and don't want to deal with this shit.

Trying to find something in this kitchen was like looking for food in a barren wasteland. Everything was garbage. As I was leaving I spotted something on the top of the cabinet. Cookies. I doubled checked the kitchen and halls making sure no one was coming this way. Slowly I climbed up the counter and stood on my toes stretching for the cookies. Almost... Almost... Got them!! I began to fall back. CRAP!!!! I closed my eyes awaiting the impact only to be caught in someone's arm. I opened my eyes to find Nate. Pulling a cookie out of the pack I shoved it in his mouth. I smiled at him and patted his head as he put me down. Nate doesn't make me feel nervous or scared. He was always one to protect me.

Do I trust Nate!?!?! Am I trusting people again?!?

I looked at Nate. He pulled out a key from his pocket and put a finger to his lips. His eyes were sparkling with mischief. "Let's go raid Lycos' secret stash." He smiled at me and I smiled back nodding.

Nate and I ate everything in Lycos's stash. We spent some time throwing food at one another and messing around. As we were goofing around Natalie walked in. Nate and I looked at each other as she stared at us. Not being able to help myself I laughed. In a playful mood, I grabbed Nate's hand and ran off. "Boys get back here and clean this mess," she boomed at us. Laughing Nate called back, "No!" We ran outside. I stopped and gasped when we got outside. It was so beautiful here. The entire place was surrounded by large trees. Wildflowers grew everywhere and there was a giant waterfall. There were play equipment and lots of other things.

Smiling I shifted. In my small white wolf, I barked at Nate. He to, shifted. We played together for hours. His black wolf looked intimating for a moment as he scared off another wolf that tried to join us. Spending time with Nate like this felt good.

Free myself from the past..., Don't let the past control me but don't ignore it. That's what that means right? I sat beside Nate and let thought consume me. After a while of peaceful relaxation, I decided that I would give everyone a chance. The people here have been nothing but kind and curious about me. They deserve a chance to be trusted right. I mean I think I trust Nate and Natalie. Maybe if I try and get used to the people here I can trust them...

Thud! Ow, I looked to my side to find a small wolf beside me. Little rascal ran right into me. The dang thing was really cute. Cautiously, I began to clean the small little wolf beside me. The little thing nipped at my face and paws. Wiggling the small letting thing escapes from me and goes off to play with some other pups.
