Billionaire Troubles

Hook Up??

Hook Up??

Apr 10, 2021

I pounded on my dad's door. The guy across the street was giving me the eye and a teenager my age looked like they wanted to talk to me. I mean come on. I'm only wearing short and a t-shirt. And it's not even clingy or high cut at all. Stop staring! I wanted to scream the words caught in my throat. But I knew if I said them they'd only stare more, no I stayed still.
The door swung open. "Joe's back!" My cousin,  Jenny squealed. I was pulled into the abyss of the house. "Jenny where's Uncle? My dad?" I asked. "He's on the back porch." Yet she pulled me away from it's direction and into the kitchen. Two quite handsome men worked together cooking. I stared at the floor, trying to disappear. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. Don't look at me. I guess I used up all of my good luck cause they turned around. I sighed when I saw my uncle's familiar face. The other guy was a stranger. Wavy black hair, brown eyes, and a rectangular face. I started to turn around. This is exactly what happened when I met him.
"Hi Josephine. This is Lucas. He's Lola's brother." I relaxed a bit. They did have similar black hair and golden skin. "Hey beautiful." I blushed looking down. Except this time my hair didn't fall like a curtain around me and sheild me from his gaze, my hair was in a ponytail.
"Hey. Umm . . . Where's the old man?" I asked. "Back porch. He asked to be alone. Very important phone call." Uncle Christopher said. I groaned. Couldn't luck be on my side? Just once? "So Lucas I've never met you and I've been Lola's best friend for two years." I said, trying to break the akwardness. A brother qwould be the type of thing you mention, complain about on the daily. So who was he? "We . . . we had a falling out." He mumbled. What had happened? I wanted to ask, but this seemed like a touchy subject. Besides, brother issues couldn't be that bad. "Princess are you seeing anyone?" He asked. My body stiffened. "No." The word flew out of my mouth like venom.
That was when I realized my uncle and cousin had left the room. How clever. "You want to go on a date with me?" Lucas asked. My throat clogged up and I found it hard to breathe. Daemon had said the same thing, just as sweetly, before breaking me. "No . . . I can't. Maybe another time." I said gasping for air. I was hyperventilating. Yeah, I was definetly hyperventilating. I was going to pass out. I needed to breathe.
I bolted out of the kitchen and to the back porch. I swung the slide door open and greedily took in multiple lungfuls of fresh air. "You have to get over him sweetheart." My father's voice said me behind me. I turned around to see him leaning against the door, staring at me.
We were more alike than we were different. Same sharp cheekbones, short height, and redish brown hair. "I can't." I snapped. "It. . . It's hard." I whispered. I leaned against the old wood that made up the railing. "One day you'll meet the right man, but you have to try to find him." My father said softly. "I can't." I felt tears pushing against my eyes, so I closed them and turned around.
"Everytime I see a guy I think about him. I see myself going down that road again. I-I can't." I tried to explain. I heard my father sigh. "Not all guys are like that." I knew he was right, but my heart wouldn't listen. It was weak and needed this protection. I opened my eyes. "The last time I called you said you really needed to talk to me about something. What is it?" I asked. "You do know it's okay to love. Love other guys." His voice shook. "I know. I love you." I said, evading the obvious statement. "God Josephine! I want grandkids! I want to see you happy! You need to stop moping around and find yourself a goddamned man." My father snapped. I flung myself around. "I am trying! You can't force me into a relationship! You're my dad. You support my decisions." I snapped, my tears finally blazing trails down my cheeks.
"I have to go." I whispered. I ran past my father before he could say anything. I mean what was there to say? I'm sorry? It was too late. The damage was already done. I kept kept running even after I headr people calling my name. I kept running until I reached my car and broke down sobbing.

Hi! I'm Josephine. I have a ton of friends, but one small problem. I have severe ptsd and anxiety. All because of one dude, but let's not talk about him. I was going to finally hit off with Vince and then he happened. This arrogant, dominant arse wants me. And I think I want him too. What to do?
