She grinned, talking to one of them, who nodded, motioning her to play. Roy looked at Jet, who swallowed and held the jacket, feeling it warm in his hands as he took in a breath, putting it over his knees. “Thank you again, Jet, for stepping up and helping Ceria out. Jet smirked and nodded. “Not to worry Roy, I was thinking she might have needed some backup, but wasn’t for sure. And you two have been more than kind to me. So I was making sure no one was going to hurt her. Roy nodded as he looked over at Ceria, watching her play the guitar, and sighed. “Ever sense her mother was killed by the leader of the statics, Ceria has been reckless.” Ceria grinned at the two men and handed back the guitar as she stood, pulling the headphones up on her ears and walking toward the camper.
Jet watched the two older men put the guitars away as she climbed to the roof of the camper and sat down on top, stretching as the campsite wound down. Roy grinned seeing the lady he was sweet on and started off calling back to Jet. “Tell Ceria to Lock up when y’all go in.” Jet looked at Roy and nodded. “Yes, sir, don’t worry, she will be fine tonight.” Roy nodded, rubbing the back of his head. “eh normally Fawn stays with her if I’m gone, but it seems…” Fawn stood up as she walked toward Raven, who looked at her sheepishly as she sat next to Raven and began talking to him. Roy finished what he was saying. “Fawn may be busy tonight.” Jet looked over at Raven, who placed an arm around Fawn’s shoulders as they talked. Jet nodded as Roy started away. He looked over at Ceria, who stretched her arms out and placed them behind her head, leaned back, looking up.
He grinned as he started toward the camper and knocked on the side of it. She looked down as Jet smirked and placed his jacket on the door. “permission to come aboard.” She grinned and looked down, biting her bottom lip and spoke looking back at him. “permission granted.” She said as she took the headphones down and watched him climb up the ladder and sat next to her and grinned. “I thank you, captain.” She looked at him and shook her head. “nope my father is the captain and suddenly your becoming his first mate. Because I’m becoming a little troublesome” She smirked as he looked over at her and rubbed his chin. “um no.” She laughed as she leaned back and closed her eyes. Jet looked her over and grinned. “so um, your lip looks a little better.” She brought her hand up, touching her sore lip with her finger, and nodded. “hurts but not too bad.”
He nodded, lighting up a cigarette and then passing it to her. She blushed as she took it and then watched him light up another. “Why did you help me?” Ceria asked curiously as he bit his bottom lip. “um I don’t enjoy seeing people being taken advantage of.” Ceria nodded, taking a drag as he kept on. “Look, I want to apologize for my actions as of recent I’m not putting my best foot forward with you.” Ceria grinned and looked at him and spoke, don’t worry I wasn’t playing nice either. She looked down for a moment and then back up speaking. “and I was glade you found me before Raven did something.” He nodded and spoke “like I said, nothing will harm you, I promise.” She nodded as she leaned on her hand toward him. “Well, that little show was not the first time he tried something stupid like that.” Ceria smirked, seeing Jet look at her with wide eyes as she continued. “however, the way he was watching me tonight and seeing you come up and sit down will be the last time.” He chuckled, a grin staying put as he flipped the ash from his cigarette. Ceria sighed after taking a drag and spoke. “Fawn told me he was crying because you scared him bad.” Jet laughed as he spoke. “Wow, really, I didn’t think I was being scary.” She shrugged as he flipped his ashes and the fires died down around them. “well you did,” she grinned, leaning back on her elbow, and looked over, seeing her father and the women he was in love with after his wife passed smirking as she took a drag. “Look thanks, ok I mean I know that going off by myself was reckless. I have no reason to do that, knowing that the closer we are to Farland the worse the static will be out looking for their little slaves. so I am really glad you came and found me” She smiled as she sat up and looked at him.
He grinned at her before looking behind him, seeing her father and the woman walking in to the van she drove and smirked, feeling tired himself. “Come on, I told your father regardless of whether you want me to; I am to protect you tonight and make you sleep.” She looked at him and smirked, cocking brow before speaking. “And you’re a lier too, and a bad one.” She flipped her cigarette and stood on the top of the camper and looked over at him grinning as she flipped off the camper top and landed on the ground next to his jacket and looked up at him, calling to him. “Come on, it is going to get cold.” She said as he looked down at her and grinned, standing and climbing down the ladder, grabbing his coat. “Yeah, you need more protection than your father lets on where is a strait-jacket.” She scoffed and shook her head. Sorry, the strait-jacket is in the camper with my shackles to tie me down. She laughed as she started toward the door of the camper, opening it and letting herself in. Jet sighed and patted his pocket, feeling the tracking device and whispering to himself. “This better be worth it, Hunter. Because I want to do something terrible and I really can’t help it.” He swallowed as he followed her into the camper.
