The escaped prisoners managed to evade the raiders and Enforcers long enough to flee the planet, and made their way to another safe haven planet. Well, safe may have been an overstatement, but it was protected from the Akkadians and Kyramos. The planet was called Ghiloth, and it had no native population, because of its acid storms, nuclear tornados, and generally inhospitable environment. It was mainly a waystation for travelers, mainly those looking to avoid someone. The motley band of escapees happened upon a shelter that looked like it was abandoned, but not long ago. A few of the group were Montila, and they smelled that nobody had been there for at least half a kultid. They sent two scouts, a Kiron and one of the Montila to investigate the place. When they went in, whatever was inside caused them to gasp with horror! Three corpses, and they had been mutilated by who-knows-what. Most of the guts were gone, and there was viscera all over the inside of the shelter! Only one thing could have done something like this: an Aphelion. Ghiloth was a breeding ground for the creatures, great eagles born of shadow, that roamed the stars in search of prey. They could become incorporeal, which explained how a creature that big could have gotten in here. Also, the blood spatters indicated that it was a surprise attack. After they cleaned up the blood, it was actually a decent hideout.
