Everybody want their last words to be meaningful or poetic but most of the time they aren't.
The most common once are actually:
"I know what I'm doing!"
"This should work."
"It's not that high."
"Only over my dead body."
"It's fine."/"I'm fine."
"What could go wrong?"
"What did you say?"
"I don't feel so good."
"Fuck."
"Oh shit!"
But there are also a few rare occasions where someone says something funny or wise at the end.
So here are some of my favourite last words from famous people:
Charles Gussman,
television scriptwriter:
"And now a word from our sponsor."
Groucho Marx, entertainer:
"Die my dear? Why that is the last thing I’d do."
Joan Crawford , movie actress:
"Damn it.Don’t you dare ask God to help me."
James French, convicted murderer:
"Hey fellas! How about this for a headline for tomorrow's paper?
'French fries.' "
R.D. Laing, Psychiatrist:
"No bloody doctors."
Louie XlV, King of France:
"Why do you weep? Did you think I was immortal?"
Thomas J. Grasso, convicted murderer:
"I did not get my Spaghetti-O's. I got spaghetti. I want the press to know this"
Voltaire, philosopher (after a priest asked if he wished to denounce Satan):
"Now is not the time for making new enemies."
W.C Fields, actor (when asked why he was reading the Bible):
"I'm looking for loopholes."
Karl Marx, Social philosopher, revolutionary:
"Go on get out. Last words are for fools who have not said enough."
