"Everything hurts... why is my body so heavy all I did was follow Miss Amelias instructions."

"Young Lord I need you to listen to me and not react with any sudden movements or looks in any directions understand?"

I look up giving her an understanding gaze. 

"Young Nyra has not noticed it yet, but we have been followed from the moment that we left the castle. Unfortunately she has just started her training not long ago so she must not be alerted to there presence just yet. When we reach our destination im going to ask you to perform what ever magic you can however you can, but I need you to focus on shielding the young miss in any way that you can think of. When you cast your spell, use your imagination. That is one of the best forms of training to start out with as a beginner. Do you think you can do that for me young lord?" 

"Yes ma'am i'll do my best to protect her, besides not long ago I asked her to marry me. I don't know what she thinks of me or if she even thinks im a suitable partner, but i've made up my mind im going to do my utmost to get her to like me."

Shocked by my statement miss Amelia giggles and smirks at me. 

"Then I expect great things from you in the next few moments young lord."

We make our way up to the hill and as I channel magic through my newly formed veins a white constellation array erupts from my hands and I see miss Amelias face light up in shock. The bottom tip of the white rose in the constellation lights up bright at the same time I feel a surge of energy force it's way out of my palm and a giant pillar of white flame creates a vortex around Nyra. Feeling anxious while she is in the pillar hoping with all my might that she is not being harmed in the middle of the vortex. I look over to see a yellow constellation Array disappear from miss Amelias palm as a small purple orb floats out in front of her. From that small orb I feel an intense pressure almost pulling me towards it. I realize soon after that she created a gravitational field around that small orb. Almost as soon as I notice the gravitational field I see 8 hooded men clawing at the ground while they are being sucked towards the orb. Once they are out in the open miss Amelia disrupts the orb causing it to disappear and the all the men stand up with daggers pointed at the both of us. Miss Amelia shouts something to princess nyra, but I completly miss it as my tunnel vision won't let go of the men in front of us. Miss Amelia is unnaturally calm filling the air around us with a terrifying silence. Thats when 6 spikes erupt from the ground and impale the men through there torso causing them to hang suspended in the air like human effigies. Miss Ameliea throws and air blade at one of the men who tried to run away. The last  hooded man begins to run and cower as fast as he can when miss Amelia teleports in front of him grabbing him by the neck and lifting him to the sky asking him several questions. I then begin to feel dizzy and weak as I notice the ground is getting closer to my face as I collapse. 

"Ack.. My head what the hell happened why am I in my bed what happened to the all the assassins?"

"KYNOR!! Your awake are you ok?"

I look up to see Nyra sprinting at me from the door of my room. She jumps when she makes it halfway and lands right on my chest hugging me as if I've left her for years. 

"Nyra what happened I don't remember anything after I saw miss Amelia holding one of those men by the neck. How long have I been asleep for. Are you ok, your not hurt are you I saw a pillar of white flames engulf you I was so worried that I hurt you or.. even worse.." I couldn't finish my sentence at the thought of Nyra dying.

"I'm ok don't worry your magic didn't hurt at all. If anything it was almost warm and relaxing inside the vortex. Besides you don't have to worry about me i'm strong all by myself anyway. As far your other questions I was told not to tell you anything. Miss Amelia told me to come tell her if you wake up so that she can explain things to you herself." 

As Nyra is saying this she lets go of me releasing her death grip around my chest. 

"I'll be right back with miss Amelia."

"You don't need to worry about that princess I'm already here." Said a voice from the other side of the room. 

"Miss Amelia is Everyone ok?" I ask impatiently

"Everyone is fine young lord. How about we get to business. First things first, you will be training with me from now on as far as your magic studies goes. After what happened there are... Implications.. that need to fulfilled in order for you to prosper. Secondly training in the art of the sword will still be your primary focus as you must build up muscle and stamina in order to properly use magic. At the end of the day you will report to me for the last few hours in order to learn magic. Now, since we got all of the boring stuff out of the way how about we go tell your parent that you've woken up."

At the thought of my parent my heart drops. I wonder if they will be upset with me since I ended up collapsing when things got serious? Im sure I must seem like a total loser to father. He probably thinks that im weak and useless since I can't even stay awake for one measly spell. 

We make our way through the main corridor of the castle and come upon the giant double doors that seperate me from my parents. I give the biggest sigh before walking forward and the doors begin to open up by themselves. I see my father first talking to someone i've never seen before. He looks up at me with the biggest grin i've ever seen him wear across his face. 

"If it isn't the hero himself glad to see that you finally woke up. I hope you slept you good for the past 3 days."

I look up at miss Amelia shocked by the fact that it's been 3 days since i've woken up. I feel myself beginning to lift up into the air. I look down to find myself hovering a few inches off the ground when I get pulled by a tremendous force that almost gives me whiplash. I land straight in to my mothers arms as she's holding me tightly. 

"Mom stooop.. we have company and you're embarrassing me.."

"I will not stop. I will do as please and there's nothing you can do to stop me. You had me so worried these last few days and I couldn't so much as do anything to help you wake up." 

I hear a soft giggle behind me and I see Nyra giggling while standing behind a tall slender demonkin with pitch black hair and gray horns. He has a skinny face that gives off an aura of elegance. 

"My dear boy Im glad you decided to wake up during my visit to your father. You also have my sincerest gratitude for protecting my little girl. I was told it was you who shielded her from the assassins before you collapsed. I was told it was a pillar of flames that it quite the feat for someone who has never used magic before. No wonder you collapsed from mana exhaustion. A vortex of flame is at minimum a 3rd constellation fire spell." 

"I can't say that it was on purpose though sir. I just imagined her being safe and then the whi-" 

"Ok young lord why don't you go and get some food while we discuss a few things with your parents." Amelia says while cutting me off. 

Before I could even respond to her Aurora grabs my hand as she ushers me toward the dining hall. I look behind me as im being pulled away and I see Nyra's father with the most curious look on his face like I was about to say something weird.

"Don't worry young lord we already have food prepared you." 

I give her my biggest grin. "Im gonna be honest miss Aurora. Im glad your pulling me away from whatever was going on. Mother was smothering me and it was super embarrasing."

"Don't worry young lord your mother was worried sick about you. Most cases of mana deficiency only last a day at most, but miss Amelia said this case was most likely due to your white flames. Which might I say young lord I am very impressed you managed such a feat. Im sure you'll learn the details from miss Amelia later."

"Speaking of which, why did miss Amelia cut me off when I was explaining to Nyra's father about the white flames?" 

"Young lord there are.. organizations that are trying to disrupt our nation. In all honesty you weren't supposed to have even been born. Your mother tried for years to have a child, but we demonkin have a poor reproduction cycle so your mother went through several miscarrages and suffering through massive depression every time she had one. That never stopped her from having a baby though as you can see. Those who don't agree with your birth mainly humans who have set up base here to keep tabs on us in their secret lairs that we have yet to find. That's why there has been several attempts on your life because having a future demon lord allows us to be prosperous. The humans and demonkin have never gotten along and it's all because of those petty humans not being able to cope with anything that has more power or looks different from them."

While miss Aurora was talking we made our way through the winding corridors untill we stopped in the dining hall to eat. Aurora stayed with me to chat and gossip with me about everyone in the castle and kept me up to date with current events. For example Nyra's father traveling all the way here to see the boy who protected his daughter from experiencing anything distateful, like watching men being skewered. Although she is training in the art of the sword she is still just a young girl who doesn't need to be put through those kinds of ordeals just yet. 

After dinner was over I felt like I needed to stretch my legs so I went outside with miss Aurora and there I found sir Grardor training. 

"Well.. if it isn't the little slacker himself. Finally decided to show up after your litter fiasco out in the meadow eh?"

"Ill have you know sir Grard-" 

Cutting me off once again today "I don't wanna hear it young lord i've heard enough from your crying mother for the past 3 days. Why don't you start with some light exercise to help you get warmed up for tomorrow. We have to get you caught up from the 3 days that you missed so you're gonna be doing some extra training from here on. Now 10 laps around the castle and head to bed right after! Move it!"

"Ugh.. I can never get a break from this guy." I whisper under my breath. 

"I heard that punk make it 15 laps!" he shouted

"Ugh..........."
