"Did she just read my mind?! No! It cannot be, impossible! That is what is seen on those drama or movies! I must be hearing things!"

Ruan Yuchen shook off the thought that she could have read his mind, instead he blamed it on something else.

The overly sensitive ears of Marya Zaleska could pick up the slightest of sound but could also adjust the pitch as she wanted. What could have sounded very deafening came across as a dull noise. Without moving a single muscle on her face, she spoke to the man that resurrected her from her deep slumber.

"Kneel!"

Taken aback by the melodious voice that commanded him to go down before her, Ruan Yuchen was gripped with a sudden need to run out of the room.

It was as if he was staring into the eyes of a predator, whose cold empty crimson eyes remained fixed on him.

"Is she asking me to get on my knees?! Has she gone mad?! Who does she think she's speaking to?!"

The Vice President of PingAn Group shook his head to clear off the unbelievable thought that struck to his mind.

"You are not hard of hearing, are you?!"

With a voice which was both musical and menacing, Marya Zaleska wanted to confirm what she thought of the human that stood in shock right before her eyes. Furious and fed up with the tone that she used on him, Ruan Yuchen lost his cool and spoke without weighing his words.

"Who the heck are you to ask me if there is something wrong with my ears?! Do I look deaf to you?! I do not know which country you came from, but I sure would not stand to be spoken to in such a rude way! You must be..."

Ruan Yuchen did not get to finish his words as suddenly a strong force pulled him to the floor, which followed with a sickening sound of bones snapping.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!"

The pain was so much that the eyes of Ruan Yuchen watered from the impact of his kneecap landing forcefully on the marble floor, this tore his flesh as blood spilled from a terrible gash that formed on both knees.

As though a cold breeze swept into the room, the Vice President of PingAn Group began to shiver with fear of the unknown.

"What have I gotten myself into?!"

Try as he may, he remembered pulling a moldy coffin of dark steel, now that he thought of the events that took place in the last couple of hours, Ruan Yuchen did not know why he adamantly brought the coffin back to his home. The moment he lifted the lid of the coffin and saw the face that was inside, that set into motion a chain of events leading to the Vampire Progenitor appearing as though she was alive and asleep, her chest rising and falling to mimic those of a human.

Thinking back, Ruan Yuchen could vividly see the look of horror on the faces of his bodyguards and aide after the men saw that a person was in fact alive inside the coffin.

"Vice President Ruan, please reconsider. How would you explain taking her in to President Ruan?!"

Tears of bitterness formed at the back of his eyes, as regret settled heavily in his heart.

"But they warned me! Just why did I do it, Why?!"
