Chapter 12: [Annie]

13^th of December, Saturday

The day before their meetup for competition discussion, They had a revision class for English subjects. The teacher made them sit randomly, and Annie and Ace end up sitting together. At the end of the lecture, Annie received a text from Nalani. 

Nalani: Don’t you think you and Ace are getting along really well? It seems suspicious.

Annie: Huh? What do you mean?

Nalani: I mean, we think something is going on, right? Between you and Ace.

Annie: What the hell are you talking about? Are you guys out of your mind? Can’t we be friends? Is it necessary that something’s going on…even if we’re just talking? 

Annie gets really pissed about the matter. Ace didn’t ask what happened as he had already guessed what those texts could’ve been about. Their revision lecture ends. Annie walks up to Dav and tells him everything. Ace looked at them and walked away.

Current day.

Ace called Annie to confirm if she is coming to the party or not. When Ace asked her, Annie denied it. As Annie said, she won’t be coming to the party. Ace asked her the reason, and to that, Annie replied, “I won’t be in town that day.”

Ace: That’s a lie.

Annie: No, absolutely not. I’m not lying.

Ace: But you are Annie!

He saw through me, Annie said to herself.  Is it alright to do this? Will, I again mess up if I repeat my actions. She was thinking about it over and over again.
