“How far are we going?” Felix asked. His ears swiveled and picked up every stray sound as the caracal followed after Tyan’s small form. The petite creature hadn’t slowed, pausing only a few times to make sure Felix still followed him through the press of trees.
“A little further! Just - just far enough that he won’t sense you,” the winged creature replied over his shoulder. Tyan landed on a branch a few feet ahead of Felix, pointing towards a small clearing. “This place is warded from his sight. We can talk here.”
“Warded?” Felix raised an eyebrow as he strode into the clearing, glancing about. “Alright, I think you owe me quite a bit of info.”
With a nod, Tyan leapt from the tree branch and landed on a stump. The little creature folded his legs under him as he sat, his wings wrapping around his small form, almost like a cloak. His long tail curled around, flicking with nervous energy.
A sigh came from Felix as he shoved his hands in his leather jacket pockets and plopped down on a stump facing the little creature. One leg started bouncing, his ears twitching at every sound. “So. Who the fuck took Nikki?”
Tyan didn’t answer right away. His white irises glanced to the right, staring at the moonlit grass instead of at the feline in front of him.
“He’s… his name is Dulvelan… he’s the son of my father’s Master, my Master, and he’s … he’s just as bad as Him and that entire family,” Tyan finally said, though his voice was low. “Just talking about that family… invites unwanted attention.”
“Really? I’m not sure I quite believe that,” Felix muttered. “So what did you see? When this… Dulvelan-” the name felt foreign on his tongue, wrong somehow “-brought Nikki back there?”
Tyan fidgeted, his tail sweeping back behind him to wrap around the other side. “Master’s son… was carrying a grey hair… looked like a boy… uhm… didn’t have… pants on… a-and… Master’s son smelled excited…”
Felix let out a growl, his nails digging into his palms as his fingers curled into fists in his jacket. “Are you telling me… he raped Nikki?”
A fierce, bright pink blush spread over Tyan’s cheeks and down his neck as the small creature fidgeted again. He didn’t have to answer to confirm Felix’s question.
“And you made me leave him-!” Felix jumped up, spinning to head back into the woods.
A strong hand wrapped around Felix’s wrist. “Wait! Don’t!”
Felix whipped back around to tell the little creature off, only to come face to face with a much larger horned creature than he’d expected. Tyan - he was sure it was still Tyan - stood clutching his wrist, now at least five foot tall. The horns, tail, claws, and wings - everything about him was the same, and those wide white eyes stared up at Felix, pleading and beseeching.
“You’ll be lost to him, too!” Tyan begged. “I stopped you from going in there because you can’t get your friend back! Master’s entire family are dangerous vicious thugs-!”
Tyan suddenly covered his mouth, releasing Felix’s wrist, as he glanced about in a panic.
“What? I don’t hear anything…”
Tyan shook his head, then stepped back and slumped onto the stump, pulling his knees up to his chin. “Speaking of them… draws their ears…”
“Seriously? That’s why you won’t tell me more?” Felix hissed, putting his hands on his hips. “And you won’t let me go rescue Nikki because you think I can’t handle this thug?”
Again, the slender creature shook his head. “I know you can’t. He’s not one of the weak ones. True, he isn’t the strongest or the oldest or a prodigy… but even he can handle a couple of felines.”
Felix bared his sharp teeth. “I’m not leaving Nikki to a rapist. If you aren’t going to help me, then leave me alone.”
Flushing again, Tyan hid his face under his wings and behind his knees. Turning to leave again, Felix took a few steps away, heading back towards the forest. Before he got too far, Tyan spoke.
“I can’t help you against him, not directly… Master would punish me and then father would punish me… but I can give you some advice…”
The feline stopped at the edge of the small clearing, one hand on a tree. He turned to look over his shoulder at the horned creature, his eyes narrowed. “What?”
“Don’t go there at night. Early morning is your best bet. And you’re going to want fire. He’s not one of the family that can manipulate fire and he doesn’t like it… so fire will startle him enough that you can get the upper hand… but don’t try to kill him. You can’t. Just…” Tyan paused and shifted on the stump, finally lifting his horned head to stare at Felix. “If you’re going in, catch him off guard and rescue your friend. Make that your goal… not revenge.”
“Morning, huh?” Felix frowned and glanced at his watch. Almost midnight. “Several hours yet. I can probably get some chemicals from the base camp…”
But Tyan shook his head. “That won’t work. You need something else.”
“How else do you suggest I make fire?”
Those white eyes stared at Felix unblinking for several moments. “You… don’t even know, do you?”
Felix tilted his head and frowned at Tyan. “Know what?”
Tyan slowly unfolded from the stump and gingerly stepped through the clearing until he stood in front of Felix, staring up at the other with his hands clasped behind his back. The horned creature leaned in and took a deep breath, his tail swaying behind him. When Tyan looked up once more to stare into Felix’s eyes, he smiled, showing off his sharp canines.
“You smell like magic.”
For a beat of his heart, Felix wasn’t sure if the creature before him was pulling his leg. Smell like magic? Yeah right.
“Magic doesn’t exist,” Felix insisted, frowning. This was honestly the most he’d ever frowned at someone and he didn’t much like it.
Tyan laughed, smiling suddenly. “Magic doesn’t exist? How do you explain me, then?” As if to tease the feline, Tyan suddenly shrunk and flapped up into Felix’s face, snatching the feline’s glasses right off his nose.
With a yelp, Felix swiped at the retreating imp, his fingers barely brushing the tuft of fur at the end of his tail. He wasn’t fast enough to grab the imp as Tyan gained altitude.
“Give those back!” Felix demanded, jumping up to try and get at Tyan.
“Explain how I can shrink and get bigger without magic!” Tyan teased, zipping around Felix and waving his glasses around. “If you can’t, then you have to admit that magic exists!”
Felix growled and swiped, managing to hit only air. Tyan’s speed kept the imp out of reach, even as he ducked in and tugged at Felix’s hair, ears, jacket, and tail. Finally, Felix had to admit that chasing the little imp was getting him nowhere fast.
Huffing, Felix took in several breaths and slumped down onto one of the stumps in the clearing.
“Fine! Fine. I can’t explain how you can shrink like that,” Felix huffed, his chest heaving. “Can I please have my glasses back now?”
With a grin on his lips, Tyan’s form grew and the little imp put the square-rimmed glasses on his nose, blinking through the lenses. “Oh, man, no wonder you couldn’t even get close to me, you are blind!”
Felix rolled his eyes and leaned back, tipping his head back to stare up at the night sky. Though his blurry vision didn’t let him see details or sharp lines or anything, he could still see the basic shapes and get a sense of where things were.
He certainly wasn’t as blind as Tyan made him seem.
“Can I have my glasses back?” Felix asked, not bothering to look at the red skinned creature.
Tyan let out a laugh and approached Felix, his hips and tail swaying as he walked. “I know I said I couldn’t really help you, not directly, but I can do something else…”
Taking a breath, Felix lifted his head and narrowed his eyes to try and focus his eyes as Tyan got closer. “What do you mean?”
“I can awaken your magic,” Tyan replied, a grin splitting his lips. Tyan removed the glasses and twirled them between his fingers.
“And… how exactly are you going to do that?” The feline narrowed his eyes, not quite liking the way Tyan grinned at him.
“Well, ya see,” Tyan started, taking another step closer, “information is part of my trade. My father values information above everything else - other than power, but that’s par for the course - so I know… how to awaken mages…”
“Right… so how?”
The red-skinned imp dropped a hand to Felix’s knee, his eyes locked on the feline’s. “I just gotta connect with your soul… and the easiest way to do that is physical contact…”
“So… what? You want to hold hands now?” Felix asked, suppressing his laughter. This whole magic thing sounded absurd from the beginning and Tyan’s suggestion wasn’t making Felix believe at all.
Tyan flushed and puffed out his cheeks, then suddenly stuffed Felix’s glasses inside his clothes. He didn’t say anything, just dropped to his knees between Felix’s legs and reached for the feline’s crotch.
“Hey, hey, what are you doing?!” Felix grabbed the imp’s wrists to stop him, looking down with squinted eyes at the horned creature. “If you just need physical contact, why’s it gotta be sexual?”
Letting out a huff, Tyan met Felix’s eyes. “Because… it isn’t just physical contact… I need some of your fluids.”
It was Felix’s turn to go beat-red, his freckles standing out against the bright color. “I-I’m sorry? You need what now?”
Tyan twisted his wrists and tugged free, using Felix’s shock to quickly unbutton and unzip the feline’s jeans. “Your fluids. Fastest way is to drink your sperm. I’ll admit, it really isn’t the ideal way, but I can make that work.”
Before Tyan managed to get Felix’s cock out of his boxers, Felix grabbed him by the shoulders and pushed, just enough to get him away from his crotch. “Hold it! What do you mean it’s not the ideal? Why would you do something like that if it’s not-”
“Because! Because… the ideal way is… a … a lot more intimate,” Tyan cut in, the pink flush on his cheeks brightening with each moment.
Felix stared at the other, blinking slowly. “A lot more intimate… than a blow job?”
Tyan nodded, biting his lip, though he wasn’t pushing against Felix’s hold. “A-and it helps if you agree to it. Consent and all that is important, especially when it comes to accessing your soul and magical paths…”
“... why do I get the feeling you mean sex? Actual sex, not just a blowjob?”
The imp ducked his head, his flush brightening and spreading to his shoulders.
“Ah. Because you do.”
“T-that’s why I was just going to do it this way,” Tyan said, finally shaking Felix’s loosened grip off of his shoulders. “It’s faster.”
“But not more reliable, from what you’re saying,” Felix sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “I’m not really one for emotionless sex, I want you to know. It’s not really my thing. But it’ll help me get Nikki out of there, right?”
Tyan rocked back on his knees and nodded, his fin-like ears flicking and dropping. “Yeah. It would guarantee your magic awakens… and uhm… I can already tell you have a fire affinity. So you’re a natural enemy to him.”
“And let me guess, using a condom would defeat the purpose? Not that I have one on me...”
Again, Tyan nodded.
“I’ve never had sex in the forest…” Felix muttered, glancing around. “It feels kinda… weird, being out in the open like this... “
Using Felix’s distraction, Tyan leaned in again and tugged the feline’s cock free of his boxers. The imp let out a little whistle as Felix turned back.
