A'ari let out a soft sigh before smirking softly, as she glanced about the marketplace. Her hands on her hips as she stood there, a slight giggle escaping her as she did so. Stretching a bit as she slowly wandered about the marketplace, cooing softly as she did so.
Slowly glancing around as she did, the young beast woman smiled softly as she did so. Slowly moving through, she passed by a few stalls before slowly coming to one, sitting at a table before it after ordering some food from it. She knew deep down that she probably should have been with the other two, the dark elf Caelyn and the young human princess Amalia, preparing for the trip to the village that was likely in danger of becoming corrupted by the Void Crystal, something that many people did not want to experience again.
Letting out another exasperated sigh as she finished up the bowl of noodles she had bought, the wolf-girl slowly shook her head a bit, before turning to head back to the Adventurer's Guild. Just then, however, a cloaked person bumped into her and whispered to the beast-woman.
"Clockwork requests an audience."
As A'ari heard those words from the person, who seemed to vanish just as she turned to look at them, a look of uncontrollable fear crossed her face. Words that she had not heard in some time, had been spoken to her. A name, that she hoped to never hear again.
She lightly shook her head at this, the person wasn't there anymore. While this was common for Clockwork's agents, she dismissed the words as if they had not happened.
Meanwhile, across the town, Caelyn and Amalia both were relaxing in the Guildhall none the wiser to the stress that A'ari was now going through, the two had pretty much had set everything up, and were waiting for their wolf friend to return, to inform her that they would be heading out to the village for the Void Crystal Subjugation the next day.
Caelyn let out a soft sigh, as the young dark elf shook her head a bit. It had been a couple of hours since she and Amalia had separated to take a bit of a break from the discussion. She wasn't sure where the princess had run off to, nor did she know what was taking A'ari so long to return.
Either way, she didn't exactly care, as this would give her some peace and quiet for a change, as she let out another deep sigh.
Caelyn shuffled from the seat finally, as she slowly moved, glancing about as she felt a strange air cover the room. Though most others hadn't noticed this as well, a couple of other people nearby grew quiet as they too glanced around. The dark elf couldn't exactly pinpoint why, or what was going on, but soon after it faded away and she dismissed it as her just being stressed over the Void Crystal, which was likely what it was.
Stretching softly as she slowly moved to sit back down in her seat, she noticed that Amalia had finally returned to the Guildhall, food in hand. However, A'ari had once more, yet to return despite it being nearly half the day since the wolf beast woman had left. While normally, this would alarm people, it was a common thing when dealing with the strange beast woman.
After waving Amalia over once again, the two of them once more continued their chatter on how they were going to handle the Void Crystal, especially since it would likely be just the three of them, four if they counted the other Adventurer that Caelyn had left behind in the village.
That is if the crystal didn't speed up its corruption rate and had yet to reach the village.
"Are you sure Miss A'ari is fine?" Amalia then spoke up, a look of concern on her face, after she finished off her food. "It has been several hours since she left us." she continued, glancing over at the entrance of the Guildhall, as Caelyn waved a hand dismissively as she chuckled.
"Yes, she is fine." Caelyn then replied, for what seemed to her the fifth time. "She's not exactly one to sit around for long. She'll be back before dark." the elf continued, lightly chuckling still as she slowly nodded, shuffling once more in her seat as she glanced around.
In the few hours it had been since Caelyn had felt that strange wind, she had mostly forgotten about it, though she was still on a slight edge, as she wasn't fully sure if it was indeed because of her being stressed about the Void Crystal. While she knew on the surface that's what it likely was about, she wasn't fully sure if that was the actual case. And deep down, she was worried about what it would mean if that were true.
Just as this thought passed her mind, was when Amalia started waving over at someone. A'ari to be exact, as the young beast woman had finally returned to the Guildhall, just in time for the sunset. "Ah, what took you so long!?" Amalia yelped out, a bit loudly at her, as the young princess placed her hands upon her hips, a clearly angry yet concerned look upon her face as she looked the beast woman over. "I was starting to get worried!"
"It's fine, it's fine," A'ari said softly, waving her hand dismissively, much as how Caelyn had done just a few minutes earlier. "I was just out for a walk, okay? Got a bit distracted in the marketplace while getting some food." She then added, chuckling a bit as she soon puffed her chest out, almost arrogantly. "Besides, I'm pretty tough so I can handle a few ruffians who might try something."
