She smiled looking like she wanted to give him a hug but then reconsidered worried she would smear the symbol on his chest and would have to redraw it. "I'm proud and grandpa would be proud too. When you first told me about your disease I really wanted to cry and asked the gods why they would give you such a burden but seeing you taking it with such composer and strength I felt proud. It really is true we never get more than we can handle." Letting out a sigh she shook her head. "Sorry, I'm starting to sound sentimental. Let's just get your meridians cleansed now." Lee You Sin laughed as she straightened her back.
"Don't be sorry I feel I accomplished more just by hearing you say I make you proud." Mo Shin Yun replied a small tear hiding in the corner of his eyes. Hearing those words really meant a lot even though he wasn't the Mo Shin Yun Lee You Sin remembered. After he sat up straight as well closing his eyes to go into meditation. At first, he couldn't feel any difference between his normal mediations. After calming his mind and finding his focus he entered his sea of conscious it was the same as always, the small core swirling around itself in a beautiful magenta and the meridians pulsating with the energy from the core.
He felt his body starting to gather energy as he focused on the meridians. Only that did he feel the difference it was like a soft knock or maybe more like he could feel someone at the edge of his sea of conscious wanting in. Not sure what to do just imagined opening a door for that person. Soon after he could feel Lee You Sin in his conscious. It was like a thought mixing with his thoughts. He could feel the worry she had for him the motherly affection she had from raising him since she could remember. They were only two, three years apart but she had always been more mature and taken care of him.
He could feel all that and he felt something else, hidden away was a different worry. A worry of leaving him behind, of not being able to care for him anymore. She probably sensed him seeing her worry since she put it out front. "I will get married soon grandpa and my Master had a discussion not long ago they found a suitable partner for me. I'm an earth soul element and the sect thinks it will be beneficial for me to marry someone with a metal element and a powerful soul to help me develop even further." He could hear her thought as his own.
Now he understood why she was being sentimental. "Before you get married introduce him to me if he doesn't treat you right, I will beat him up for you." He said hearing the echo of her laughter in his mind. "Thank you, Mo Shin Yun. Taking you in was the best decision grandpa has ever made. I raised you well." Mo Shin Yun smiled feeling a warmth deep in his heart. "Now on to the next task." With a swift echo of a chuckle, Lee You Sin returned to her lively self. Mo Shin Yun could even feel her move through his conscious. "This is the part I didn't completely understand. Since it was a little confusing. But I think we will be able to figure it out." He could feel her examine his core and meridians and not really sure what should happen next himself he could only follow her kind of ending up giving her a tour of his inner energy system. It was really too comical and the two siblings had more fun with the situation than they should have.
"Lee You Sin move more to the left come one I'm throwing a long pass." Mo Shin Yun called out to her as he gathered some of his inner awareness to give his core a push making it fly over to her. After moving a little to the left she managed to catch the core perfectly with her own inner awareness which currently resigned inside Mo Shin Yun's sea of conscious. "Did you feel any difference?" They were totally playing around but at the same time, they tried to figure out exactly what they needed to do. The scroll only specified that they would have to work together to cleanse the poisoning but never told them what to do and right now they were having a little too much fun pushing around his core and meridians.
Inside the sea of conscious, they were floating freely, thus making it easy to push them around. "No difference. I think we took a wrong turn somewhere." Lee You Sin replied. "Hmm. How about we try overflowing the meridians with your soul energy?" Mo Shin Yun suddenly had an idea. "I don't know what if the extra energy poisons you faster." Lee You Sin replied. Mo Shin Yun could clearly feel her worry. "Don't worry, the best way to cleans something is to burn it up and more energy would completely burn through the meridians, right?" He asked for her opinion since she probably knew more than him.
"That will damage your meridians and it would only work if I have a fire soul element." Lee You Sin answered. Somehow the echo of her thought in Mo Shin Yun's mind was giving him the expression of being in deep thoughts giving him a hilarious image of a thought bubble striking the thinking pose. "How about this..." Lee You Sin continued. "Since I'm not a fire soul element and can't burn the poison out of your meridians. I can try nurturing your energy with my soul energy. Maybe that's why there wasn't an exact description since it depends on the element the person helping you with the cleansing has."
Mo Shin Yun nodded as he listened. It made a lot of sense no wonder Lee You Sin was well-liked by her master to the point he even offered to arrange a marriage for her. She was smart and had a deep understanding of not only her own element. "What do you suggest we do?" He asked. He could feel her thinking but the thought wasn't projected into his mind until she came to a conclusion.
"With fire, you would burn out the poison in the meridians. With water, you would wash it out. Metal would be able to cut it out. But since I don't have any of these elements all I can do is nurture and promote your own element and help you cleans your meridians yourself." She said her words making a lot of sense to Mo Shin Yun at some point he even thought:
"Maybe asking Lee You Sin was the best possible scenario. Burning out the poison would damage my meridians not much but it would still make it difficult to advance fast. Washing it out might be a good idea but since I have a water element too it could reduce my cultivation as water always mixes and flows together. Even with a metal soul element cutting out the poison would be cutting out a little bit of my own cultivation. While on the other hand nurturing my own element to be strong enough to wash out the poison will help me gather more energy."
Mo Shin Yun could feel the mental blush on Lee You Sin's face as he thought things like that. With a laugh, he gave her mental awareness a little push. "See how crafty your little brother is. You will never have to worry about me I will find a way to survive even in the darkest situations." He could hear the echo of her laugh before they both focused again. "Then let's get to work this might take some time and we probably won't be able to finish all today. You will have to come to visit me a few more times but after we are done you will become stronger."
After they figured out what they needed to do the task became a lot easier especially since Lee You Sin was an indigo-coloured soul and was favoured by her master for her quick wits. Her master had always made sure that she was well taught in nurturing and supplementing another element. Normally this only meant increasing someone's ability to take in energy during cultivation benefitting both of them as they were able to cultivate faster but because she had entered his sea of conscious, she was able to carefully fill and overflow his meridians forcing his own soul energy to flood through his meridian system cleaning out some of the poison.
It was a slow and steady process after they finished a few hours later they had cleansed maybe a fifth of his meridian system. There was still a lot remaining and the parts they had cleansed would gather poison again but for now, that was all they could do. They were both exhausted and felt like their soul energy had been completely depleted. "Thank you for helping me." Mo Shin Yun smiled as he was waving his goodbye. "Don't thank me until we got all the poison washed out." Lee You Sin replied waving as he walked away.
"Mo Shin Yun." He didn't even manage to get home before he was caught by Ma Lin Ha. With an exhausted smile, Mo Shin Yun waved at the boy who was looking eager to talk to him. "I hear about what happened from Wang Ha Yon." He started but before he could continue Mo Shin Yun held up his arm to stop him. "If you want to talk come in so I can sit down as I listen." He quickly interrupted the other inviting him inside. Ma Lin Ha walked in without protest seeing how exhausted the other really looked.
"I heard about your need to find a guardian for the expedition. Do you know anyone in the military division?" After they sat down at the small table Mo Shin Yun had placed in the middle of his outer room Ma Lin Ha couldn't hold back any longer, he was overflowing with questions and gossip and started talking nearly right away. "No, I don't know anyone that's why I need help." Mo Shin Yun answered honestly. "Ok here is everything I heard about this kind of situation." Ma Lin Ha finally couldn't hold back anymore.
"I heard about this special exception before but I never thought anyone would be able to use it. Since I only heard about three times were a case like that was presented. I don't know if the first two were approved since it happened a long time ago but the last wasn't approved. That one was during the last expedition. You know Lan Chi Yang, right? The really annoying guy who is hanging around Lu Jun Yu. His grandfather Elder Lan is one of the most respected Elder in the sect and his elder brother Lan Wang Xian* is one of the most respected and adored ShuCha in the western country. He is still young but already reached a green level and his soul colour is indigo. One of the most powerful souls. The sect itself despite its size only has about four indigo ShuCha disciple including Lan Wang Xian."
"But that's about his brother. He took part in his first expedition at the age of sixteen. Now he is twentysomething I don't know exactly and is loved by everyone. He and his cultivation partner travel around the country to help where ever they can. But again, that's the older brother well-loved and strong enough to stand on his own feet... I'm sorry I don't really like talking about Lan Chi Yang so I keep pushing the topic. As you might have already guessed Lan Chi Yang is somewhat the black sheep of the family. He is only a teal-coloured soul and even though he is nearly twenty he only advanced to orange last year. Thus, during the last expedition, he was a red level and since his brother already took part in his first expedition when he was sixteen and Lan Chi Yang always thinks he is better than his brother and has to be the centre of attention he asked to be considered as an exception."
Mo Shin Yun couldn't help but shake his head as he listened to the other's words. It was clear that Lan Chi Yang really wasn't born under a lucky star with a brother like that. But from what he could gather Lan Wang Xian wasn't arrogant while Lan Chi Yang was probably the most arrogant person, he had met.
