The man watched as Rose took off with the dragon from the edge of the woods. So much for his mission.
He was to watch Rose from afar. He is to not get involved, not yet anyways. Figure out the strength of her magic, how far along in training she was.
He was not told the reason of this mission, but Rose must be special to them for some reason or another.
So far, there has not been much that has been remarkable other than the relationship with dragons she seems to have, but even then, with Bilmont being there, it is only natural for her to get along with dragons also. This has been week three.
He sat next to the tree and looked around at his small camp. There is not much, enough to pick up and go in case Rose takes off again. There is no way he can catch up to the dragon, nevertheless go into their territory without being noticed.
He did not want to come here, but they claimed he was the only one who could do the mission thanks to his special gift. He understood that, but he does not like stalking someone, but it is his job, he has to do what he is told.
At least he won’t be out there much longer. Just one more week before he has to go back and report.
He was asleep when they returned. The sounds of the dragon’s wings flapping awoke him. In Rose’s arms was a small dragon. It looked to be asleep, but the fact that Rose brought it back, it must be very ill.
This was the first time on this mission that he was shocked. Dragons don’t give up their hatchlings easily.
