“So ladies, today you’ll be getting your tablets. Essentially your magic energy is input into it and you can write stuff, send it to people. Play games, draw things, and do a few other things.” Ms. Linnete explained, “Here you are,” she waved her wand and teleported all the tablets to everyone's desks. “Please use them responsibly.” she requested, “The writing is pretty easy, it opens to that page so you can use it however you wish.” She took out her tablet, and wrote ‘hi,’ she then wrote ‘Concord Lance’ I saw something appear on the screen of my tablet.
It was what she wrote, “Woah, cool.” I whispered. It also said from Sasha Linette. “Alright, now have some fun with it till your next class.”
“Hey, we should probably tell eachother our last names, yeah?” I said to Vera and Sylvia.
“Mhm, that’s a good idea.” Vera agreed, “Mine’s Lachlan.” I nodded.
“Mine is Piora, also where’d you go yesterday?” Sylvia asked.
“N-nowhere.” she lied.
Still lying, but I guess it’s best not to bother her. I thought to myself.
“And you guys know mine.” I joked. They laughed, I wrote down Andrea’s name, wanting to mess with her, then remembered that I didn’t know her last name. Before I could ask anyone I got a ping from the tablet. It read, ‘hello, from Andrea Collins.’
I wrote back, ‘Andrea?’
‘Who else stupid’ she wrote back.
I smiled down at the screen, ‘haha, very funny. What’re you doing?’ I questioned.
“Who’re you writing?” I heard Vera ask. I immediately slammed the screen against my stomach.
‘Nothin’ much, you?’ she wrote with a smiley face.
“Wow, secretive much?” Sylvia said with a laugh.
“Me, secretive, never.” I said in a high voice. ‘Breathing, I think that counts.’ I joked over the tablet.
“Oh, yeah sure.” Vera agreed in a sarcastic tone.
“Okay, that’s all we have time for today, so please pack your things and head out to your next class.” Ms. Linette ordered.
She waved her hand at the door and it opened with a bang. I stood up, and picked up my bag. “What do we have next?” I asked.
“Do you just not look at your schedule?” Vera laughed.
“Not really, it’s all the way in my bag, and I’m lazy.” I explained.
She pulled out her schedule from her extremely organized bag, “Um, spells.” she grinned, showing the paper to me. I nodded, and rushed off to the classroom, Sylvia and Vera in tow.
We entered spells class, plopped down in the same seats as yesterday. I saw Vera’s eyes trail over to the door when Bell walked in, her face heated up when they made eye contact. Someone has a crush… I thought to myself in a sing-song voice.
Bell started walking towards us, she leaned over the three person desk, speaking to Vera, “Vera, can you please stop leaving your clothes on the floor, in our room.” She requested.
“Mhm.” She agreed, nodding slightly, she was still looking down at her desk.
“Are you okay? Your face is red, you sick?” Bell asked.
I saw her flinch slightly, “I’m fine.”
“But you look like you’re about to pass out, c’mon I’ll take you to the nurses office.” She offered. Vera nodded before Bell dragged her off.
