Please be kind. This is literally my fist self made trailer/video. It's not perfect by any means.
I am giving another warning. This is going to have sexual explicit content with a younger guy and older woman. Read at your own risk.
It all started with one phone call that changed our loves forever. That one phone call led us to where we are today. When I think back to the day, that led me into something I never thought I would even consider, let alone act on, I can't help grin remembering how my whirlwind of a seduction with someone who some people see as being forbidden. Hell, even I once that someone that young should be off limits, but who knew there is a cougar in me that wanted out? It wanted out, and it wanted to taste the forbidden fruit of someone half my age.
"I know Remi was with me more a lot during the summer, Daniel, but you unexpectedly went out of town and let me know the day you were leaving. She made it clear she wants to stay here at home with me. Are we forgetting she gets to decide that on her own?" I remind him.
"I get that Lena, but I miss my daughter?" He snaps.
"Do you? How much did you miss Remi when you took off with your self made plastic Barbie doll all the way to the Bahamas and you told our daughter, sorry kid, maybe next time. You broke her heart, Daniel," I growl while glaring at him.
"I know, but-,"
"No, Daniel, there is no but," I shout, cutting him off.
"Why do I have the feeling Remi didn't come to this decision all on her own, she had help?" He accuses.
"How dare you. I am not the one who broke my daughter's heart and I am not the one who makes promise having no intention of keeping them. I always allow her to make her own choices about where she would rather be. Don't you dare blame me for this," I snap.
"Okay, Lena, I apologize. It's just I barely see Remi any more."
"That's true, but let's remember you have yourself to thank for that," I remind him.
"Why the hell are always so snarky with me, Lena?" He asks and I feel my face heating with anger."
"Well, I don't know why I'm get snarky with you Daniel. Perhaps it would have something to do with you and my best friend naked in our bed and banging each other like wild beasts? What do you think?" I hiss.
"Oh god, okay. I know we both screwed up."
"You got that right. What you did to me, you ended up doing the same thing to Venessa. I have to admit, I relish in the fact she got a taste of her own medicine," I grin in delight.
"So nice to see you're still getting off on other peoples downfall, Lena," he grumbles.
"Caused by you, Daniel," I retort.
"Damn it, Lena. I will not continue to stand here and argue with you. Will you please tell our daughter her father stopped by and please call me?"
"Yes," I simply reply with a glare.
He quickly makes his way out the door and I fight back the rage deep inside of me. As I take a deep breath, my eye catches the crystal rose on top of the fireplace mantle. I haven't been able to toss this out along with all the other things Daniel gave me during the fifteen years of our marriage.
"He broke our marriage apart and I either smashed or tossed out every single thing he ever gave me. Except this crystal rose."
"Hey, mom," her soft whisper causes me to turn back and a smile soon forms on my face.
"Aww, my baby girl is home," I cheer, and quickly make my way to her. My arms soon wrap around her and her arms quickly wrap themselves around me.
"I missed you so much, mom."
"I missed you, Remi. Tell me, how are your grandparents?" I ask and instantly see the look of disappointment on her face.
"Fine," she groans as her body slightly slumps over.
"Just fine, Remi? Did they take you to all of your favorite places at the mall?"
"Yeah, eventually," she sighs.
"Okay, something is obviously bothering you. What happened?"
"Mom, all they basically did was try to paint you out to be this horrible neglectful mother and they tried to paint my male life giver out to be some sort of saint," she blurts out.
"They what, Remi? Oh, hell no. They are you going to hear from me about the bullshit."
"What do you plan on doing mom?" she slightly grabs my arm keeping me in place.
"Making it clear what a bad idea it is to try and put my daughter in an uncomfortable place where you do not deserve to be," I say through gritted teeth.
"Mom, please, I don't want to cause even more arguments in our family," she pleads as her hands grab mine.
"Remi, you hold no responsibility in our family drama. None of this is your fault." I assure her with a smile.
"I know, but between you and dad are constantly arguing and grams and pap. I just feel bad they are constantly trying to make you out to be this god awful mother who only thinks only of herself. I know without a doubt that just isn't true," she mutters as she slumps back in the rocking chair.
"Thank you for that, but Remi, I don't want you in the middle of this. You shouldn't have to feel like you need to defend or protect me. It isn't fair. How about you let me handle the family drama and you concentrate on school?"
"How Did I know you were going to say that, mom?" she smirks as she stands and wraps her arms around me.
"I love you, Remi. And I am so happy to have you back home."
"I love you so much, mom. No matter what anyone says, you have always been the best mom."
"Thank you, Rem."
"Mom, is that your cell phone I hear?"
"Yes, it's in my office. Stay here, I will be right back. We can decide where we want to go for dinner."
"Okay, but I'll be right back, mom. I need to go shower," she grabs her small pink bag.
"Okay. Hello?"
"Lena?"
"Todd. Hey, you're back?" I ask curiously.
"Yes. Our plane landed about thirty minutes ago. Lena, have you heard Theo Hartley contacted me?"
"Theo Hartley, as in the co-owner of Hartley candies?"
"The one and only. I am about to call him now and go over some minor details about you interviewing him," he informs me much to my excitement.
"Me interviewing him, Todd? Oh my god, are you serious? He and his family rarely grant interviews, especially Theo. He seems so shy and never wants to grant any interviews.
"I know. You be on standby, Lena. I will call you back with all the details."
"Okay, Todd. I will wait to hear from you," I say with excitement.
"Mom, why do you look like you just hit the lottery?"
"Remi, that was Todd Sears on the phone. I'm about to land the interview of a lifetime."
"What, with who, mom?"
"With Theo Hartley, Remi," I cheer.
"Oh my god, mom. Theo Hartley is the most sought after bachelor. Not to mention he's drop dead gorgeous. I want to go with you, mom. Please take me with you to that interview," she begs.
"Remi, you know I cannot take you with me to that interview," I insist.
"Fine, but you better take a lot of pictures."
"Only if he grants me permission, Remi," I reply.
"Beg him, mom."
"Okay miss hormones, you need to go cool off and go over your school list."
"Ask him over to dinner, mom."
"What, Remi? Girl, I am not asking Theo Hartley to dinner. Go, now. You go look over your school list and make sure you're not forgetting anything."
"Can you at least tell him you have a single daughter his age?" She asks, and I shake my head in disbelief.
"Remi Kathleen, you are still in college and wanting to go to law school. That needs to be your focus and commitment," I insist.
"I know, but I can find time for a love life as well, mother."
"No, you can't. Sorry, baby girl, but your education is more important right now. This conversation is now over."
"Mom, this isn't fair," she huffs.
"Nobody ever told you life would be fair, my beautiful daughter."
