The answer is the latter. What? You thought Tomoe actually learns from his lessons? Actually, them getting hurt and failing the mission was completely part of his plan. If Flucht thought that the entire class was either dead or hurt irreperably, then he'd have no reason to continue the job. The only danger that was there was the fact that Tomoe can make them strong enough to kill him and all the other Taize and that's it.
"Good morning ya'll. Congratulations on the successful recovery and let's hope that none of you are left with mental scars."
"What's up with the 'ya'll'?" asked Feta.
"Did I use it incorrectly?"
"Well, no but it sounds weird coming from you."
"It does not matter too much then. Anyway, next week, I have a friend coming over to help teach this class for a month."
"Wait, is that all we get?" asked Hans.
"What else you need?"
"Tomoe...what kind of music have you been listenin' to?" asked Feta on the verge of laughter.
"Rap."
"..." Feta then bursted out laughing after imagining Tomoe trying to rap.
"Whatever, Hans. You have any questions?"
"Couldn't you at least tell us what your friend's gonna do here?"
Tomoe sighed, "She's good at long and mid-ranged fights so anyone handling those will be taught by her. Everyone else, me. Anything else?" Everyone stayed silent. "Alright, during this week, I do not wanna do anything that could hurt your bodies so we'll do heavy studying this week and next week'll be heavy training. I still want you guys to do the 5km run everyday though." And that last sentence made the entire class groan.
Really, it was just a run to help them get better stamina but, for the ones who are slow, they have to get up earlier so they can reach the 5km mark and make it to school on time. And for the fast ones, well, they usually run too fast and don't have enough for the full lap so they end up tired. So it felt like complete hell for the class and they had to go through it again. Kurogame was wondering if breaking his leg would be a good option.
"I'll let you guys go today but you start those runs tomorrow, alright?" The class begrudgingly replied "Okay."
"Teeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaach, what are we gonna do about the other Taize?" asked Nami.
"We're going after an easy one next, though that won't be for a long while so focus on your work."
"Ooooh, who?" asked Kurogame. "Sloth?"
"Despite what most people think, Sloth is pretty deadly due to how fast he is. We're going after Lust next."
"Why Lust?" asked Nagisa.
"Sloth's main weapon is the sheer speed of his attacks. Wrath is his power. Envy is her ability and so on and so forth. Lust is weakest physically out of all of them. What he prevails at is his seducing ability. He's also a great conversationalist and has been beaten in very few arguments. He is the embodiment of quantity over quality which is good for you guys since it'll help with teamwork skills rather than individual. If you don't have any more questions than finish the work I gave."
"Will your friend help us in the fight?" asked Soma.
"Nope. It's already a huge favour getting her to help teach. Fighting the Taize is a kill 2 birds with 1 stone thing. I need to get students who will take my place in The Celestials when I die and Earth is a place the Taize is a danger to my own world. Of course, if you guys fail, we'll be able to save my own, but I'm not sure how the others feel about Earth."
"Wait, are you saying that they'll just leave the planet to be destroyed?" asked Jefe.
"Why would you wanna deal with a threat that has nothing to do with you or your children? It isn't an immediate threat so they see it as not needing to take immediate action. I find it stupid but that's how most people see it."
"Seriously?"
"It was an argument even some of your parents brought up when they said they wanted to transfer classes. Utterly idiotic. Nothing much I can do about people's thought processes though."
