I decided to leave Max alone for a while. Instead I went to my room to take a shower. I open the door to my place, it seems more like a small studio apartment then a room. It had a small kitchen and bathroom but the difference is that the living room was my bedroom with a bookshelf separating it from the studying/office space. I even have a small balcony which is nice when I need some fresh air.
Closing the door behind me and locking it, I walk to where the bathroom is. Everything was placed in certain ways and never moved. It's easier for me to know where everything is so I don't bump into anything. It was a hard couple months to navigate my room without stubbing my toe on something.
I thank the help of some of my pack mates for that and sorting my closet with braille tabs to know what colors the shirts are.
Now at the bathroom entrance, I take out a towel and turn on the shower. Waiting for it to get hot, I brush my teeth and take off my clothes putting them in the dirty clothes hamper.
Oh so carefully I make my way to the shower and step into the scolding hot water. My muscles immediately loosen up, relaxing after a long day.
Suddenly I hear the door know jiggle at the entrance. I listen in to the heartbeat and realize... it's Max.
I sigh out thinking about how they don't like to be alone for long. I locked the door thinking they would take longer to be angry. Thing is about Max is that they don't stay mad for very long at least not at me.
Washing up faster, I get out and towel dry off. I rush to the front door trying not to trip and fall on my way. Unlocking the door, I smell Max in front of me.
"I'm still mad." They say with a pouting tone.
"I know." I say with a small smile on my face. "Would you like to come in?"
They take a deep breath in and out. "Yes."
I step to the side letting them pass. This has happened before but usually they would stew in their anger longer.
"Do you want to talk or just chill?"
"Just chill... with music on."
"Okay, you can do it while I go dry off and change." I smile in their general direction and make my way to my closet finding comfortable shorts and shirt. I hear them rustling around my room to find the speaker to connect to. Music suddenly fills the place quietly. Making the room have not such a tense atmosphere. I go over to my bed and flop down face forward. Groaning at the realization I need train more tomorrow.
"What?" Max says
"I just realized I have to train tomorrow too." I announced while I turn on my back.
"Then just don't do it."
I exhale hard and turn my head towards them. "You know I won't."
"Yeah, I just thought I should say it." It goes quiet after that. The lulling sound out music and the rhythmic breathing of Max relaxes me. So much so I jump a little when Max shifts to lay down next to me.
"I'm sorry." I whisper into the quiet room while closing my eyes.
After a while of silence, Max responds. "I would say it's okay but it's not. But I also know that I was mad at you for just not wanting to get involved. So, I decided to forgive you this time." I chuckle at that, glad they are forgiving me.
"Dom said he will talk to the pack about respecting you and your pronouns. I don't know how much it will help but we shall see." I turn towards them and reach a hand out. I wait until I feel their hand grasp mine.
"What about Dom talking to the pack about you?"
"He can't, I mean he can but the pack has been so imbalanced, on edge and messed up since the incident." I squeeze their hand as memories fly in my mind.
"I know." He whispers, clutching my hand harder to help hold back tears.
After that it goes quiet. My mind wonders into dreamland and soon we are both asleep.
