I watched as the throne room filled up with gems. The day had come for me to give the court to Beau Sancy.

We hadn’t spoken much since that day I shot light at her. No one knew about it. It must have scared Beau Sancy enough not to tell anyone. Guilt rose up as I thought about it.

Pink had seemed happier though. She and Corundum had been fusing in secret. Mostly in my room since they knew they would be safe with me. That made me happy. Corundum had accepted my offer to come with me and Pink. They wanted to stay fused and that would only be possible with me. They had named their fusion Kunzite and she was so beautiful and sweet.

The room went quiet and Grey stepped through the open doors. “Behold, the radianiant beauty and awesome power of Beau Sancy Diamond.”

Every gem saluted as Beau Sancy walked in. With confidence, she walked over to the throne where I stood waiting. Without looking at me, she turned to face the court.

“Thank you all for coming,” I said. “We are here to celebrate Beau Sancy Diamond taking over the court in my stead. I had started this court so long ago and it has grown and flourished. I’m so proud of everyone. Thank you to the mossiantes who helped me guide the court as it grew larger. But the time has come for me to step down and let Beau Sancy take me place. I will be leaving and starting a new court somewhere else where I can relive the days that had started this court. I love you all very much and I hope you will love and respect Beau Sancy Diamond.”

Hushed voices spoke to each other, shocked at my announcement. Some confused, some angry. But I knew this was the right choice for me. For Pink and Corundum. For Kunzite.

Beau Sancy stepped forward and everything went silent again. “Thank you, Creator. I hope to be has great of a leader as you are.” She looked at me then the court. “As your diamond, I would like to announce that fusion of any kind is banned. Any gem caught fusing will be instantly punished without trial. And I will demonstrate what will happen. Creator’s pearl has been fusing in secret with my Corundum, as told to me from my own pearl.”

Gasps filled the group. Beau Sancy picked up Pink before I had time to stop her. Pink yelped and struggled. “Beau Sancy! Stop!” I cried out and rushed forward.

Beau Sancy poofed Pink and shattered her gem before I could reach her. I stopped suddenly and tears filled my eyes.

“Corundum will be bubbled. Let this be a lesson to anyone who dares disobey me.” Beau Sancy announced, as quartz soldiers headed towards where Corundum was standing. She was shaking and crying.

Anger, pain, sadness, all welled up inside me as the tears fell down my cheeks. Then it all came out. I screamed and everything went white.

I don’t know how much time had passed before I opened my eyes. I was laying on the floor and everything was silent.

Groaning softly, I sat up and put a hand to my head. I looked around the room and gasped in horror at what I saw.

The room was completely destroyed and there were shards everywhere. They glistened in the light from the setting sun outside. I quickly stood up and backed away.

What had I done?

Everyone who was in the room was now nothing but shards. The room, and the rest of the palace I later discovered, was in ruins. My anger and pain had taken over and exploded. I soon learned that the entire planet was wrecked.

And no gem was in tact.

Everyone was gone.

I was alone again.

I don’t know how long I cried. But after I had calmed down somewhat, I bubbled myself and left the planet.

The bubble popped and I saw soft pink clouds around me. This was the place that came from the star.

My home.

A place I could live and watch from afar on the screen gifted to me from the star.

I won’t make the same mistakes again. I won’t get involved with gems or be their leader again. I was too dangerous and I didn’t want to hurt anyone else.

The clouds gathered together, controlled by me, and made a palace. It would be my new home.

I went inside and went into the throne room. I made a throne out of the clouds then looked around.

I wasn’t going to get involved with gems anymore but I still wanted to create.

So thus began a period of time where I went to different planets and started new courts. I made gems and gave them a diamond. Then I erased any memories of me from them and left to start over again.

After making a few, I returned to me realm and watched. I watched the diamonds build up their courts and make new gems. Some made diamonds as well and made families.

I longed for company and companionship.

I had collected jars of dirt from each of the planets I had went to. They served as a reminder and I could use the dirt to make gems.

After years and years of being alone, I decided to make a gem to accompany me.

I went into my room where I kept the jars and picked up a small one. It had what dirt was left from my first court. I took some out and placed it my hand.

I squeezed the dirt and thought about Pink. Using my powers, I connected the gem I was making to my own gem. They would be able to use part of my powers and if anything should happen, they’ll be able to protect themselves from me.

I opened my hand and a long and oddly shaped gem had replaced the dirt. It was a pearl. I had seen baroque pearls before but nothing like this.

The gem glowed and lifted into the air as a body formed around it. They were very tall for a pearl. The light faded and a white pearl land on my hand. She looked up at me.

I smiled. “Hello, Dove Pearl.”
