Once upon a time, there was a land divided into two sides; Heaven and Hell. Each side had its own ruler. Although there have been feuds between the two sides in the past, they are now working together to rebuild the bonds that were once there but had long ago been severed. After the war, the two rulers met and decided they shall build a school. A school that was to be shared between the children of heaven and hell, where they would learn about each other's culture and magic. Specifically, how to harness it. Every child of age is required to take at least a year in that school, so, when the princess came of age, they too were required to spend one year at the school. Before heading off, Liam, the prince of hell, got engaged to a woman who he didn't love, nor loved him back. He was happy to have an excuse to get away from the arranged marriage for the time being. While at school, he and Sean, the prince of heaven, became good friends.
One day they got into a big fight. Apparently, Liam disagreed with the fact that Sean's mother was a commoner. He believed that the royal family should stay within their own blood. Sean, who loved his mother dearly, got very angry. He vowed that one day he would restore the honor of his mother. Liam wasn’t the only one who disagreed with a commoner being in the Royal Family. Sean's older stepbrother, James, believes that Sean's mother is a disgrace to the family name. Not a month after the school year finished, the king, Sean and James' father, died, and James became king. The first thing he did was have Sean’s mother executed. This drove Sean mad. So mad that he killed everyone who lived in the royal palace, including the new king, James, and his ex-friend, Liam, who had come to stay in the castle after an accident in Hell. Throughout this all, one of the only people to stay by Sean's side was Sarah, Liam's fiance. She was there through thick and thin, comforting him and nursing him back to sanity. Because James was now dead, Sean was the new king. After regaining his composition, Sean asked Sarah to marry him. She accepted, and together they ruled heaven.
